Democratic Congressman on possible Iran nuke deal: ‘attempts to sidestep Congress will be resisted on both sides of the aisle’

March 21, 2015

The Congress has sent another letter in regards to the Iran nuclear deal which the Obama regime is negotiating with Iran, however this time it was a bipartisan letter and it was sent to Barack Obama–telling him that the Congress expects to play a role in the deal and that any attempt to bypass the Congress would be “resisted on both sides of the aisle.”

This seems to be in response to the report that Barack Obama was looking at bypassing the Congress by going to the United Nations in dealing with Iran.

Here is some of what Democratic Congressman Eliot Engel had to say about this:

“Congress really needs to play a very active and vital role in this whole process, and any attempts to sidestep Congress will be resisted on both sides of the aisle,”

“We would hope that we could get a prompt response from the White House,” Engel said. “It’s truly a very bipartisan letter expressing Congress’ strong feelings about things that need to be in the agreement.”

“But make no mistake: Congress will play an important role in the evaluation of a final deal,” he said. “Again, I want to say that I will not stand by and allow Congress to be marginalized. Any permanent repeal of sanctions is, by law, Congress’s discretion. And before we do that, we must be completely convinced that this deal blocks all of Iran’s pathways to a nuclear bomb.”

And here is more about the bipartisan nature of this letter:

On Thursday Engel and committee chairman Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.) sent a letter to the administration signed by 360 members of Congress – a majority of each party – laying out concerns they share about the negotiations.

Iran Nukes It should be noted here that the signatories of this letter did not  just include a majority of Republicans and a few straggling Democrats–this was a truly bipartisan letter which included majorities from both parties. This seems to indicate a divide within the Democratic party which heretofore has gone largely reported but is there nonetheless.

With so many Democrats now openly opposing Barack Obama’s alleged attempt to go it alone on an Iran nuclear deal will the President be more willing to listen to the concerns of the Congress? I highly doubt it but I guess only time will tell…

Having said that: Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution states the Senate must approve treaties by a 2/3 majority while the House of Representatives plays no role in the decision making process, so unless this is an indication of how the the Democrats in the Senate feel it is a moot point…but it does make you wonder if the Senate feels the same way as well.

NOTHING TO SEE YET, BUT I AM SURE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, THE BEST IS YET TO COME, AND THE BEST WILL NOT BE FOR US. A HOUSE OF PROSTITUTION HAS MORE HONESTY AND DIGNITY THAN THE WHITE HOUSE. DRUG DEALERS ARE EVEN MORE HONEST, THEY DO NOT CLAIM TO CURE YOU. I DO NOT ADVOCATE ANY OF THESE THINGS, BUT DO YOU THINK AT THIS POINT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A “STERILIZED” WHITE HOUSE, I THINK NOT, AND THE FLAG OF ISLAM IS ALL POSSIBLE.

It’s a wonder that these seemingly gutless representatives were reached by Netanyahu’s rational approach – something they’re not normally presented with!

For his own sake, hopefully Elliot Engel has no bare chested selfies orbiting the social media universe ala Weiner. 🐥

“Ben Carson Thinks Obama Is a ‘Psychopath’

By Alex Griswold, The Daily Caller

Ben Carson thinks President Obama is a “psychopath.”

In a new GQ profile of the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate, reporter Jason Zengerle shares an unguarded moment with Carson, during which the famed neurosurgeon called President Barack Obama a “psychopath” for his ability to shamelessly lie to the American people.

Carson reportedly went off on the president after his adviser Armstrong Williams said the president “looks good” during his State of the Union address.

“Like most psychopaths. That’s the way they look, they all look great,” Carson replied!”
