FEMA to deny funds to States with global warming ‘deniers’ for Governors
First the Obama regime used the IRS to target conservative groups and now it looks as though they are at it again–this time, according to this story, the regime is going to use FEMA to force States into the global warming agenda. Here is more:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is making it tougher for governors to deny man-made climate change. Starting next year, the agency will approve disaster-preparedness funds only for states whose governors approve hazard-mitigation plans that address climate change.
This may put several Republican governors who maintain that the Earth isn’t warming due to human activities, or prefer to take no action, in a political bind. Their position may block their states’ access to hundreds of millions of dollars in FEMA funds. In the last five years, the agency has awarded an average $1 billion a year in grants to states and territories for taking steps to mitigate the effects of disasters.
“If a state has a climate denier governor that doesn’t want to accept a plan, that would risk mitigation work not getting done because of politics,” said Becky Hammer, an attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council’s water program. “The governor would be increasing the risk to citizens in that state” because of his climate beliefs.
In the interest of fairness it must be stated here that FEMA will not be blocking these States from receiving relief money after a disaster, only the “disaster preparedness funds” but it is clear that this is nothing but an attempt to bully Republican governors into accepting the premise that global warming is real and is man-made.
But this is not unexpected or surprising, after all it comes on the heals of the news NASA has been “adjusting” temperatures to make it appear as if the earth is warming when it might not be, and more relevant to this story; experts who released a report which attempted to explain why the global warming models are wrong have come under personal attack for daring to question the narrative.
So this is the next logical step in the regime’s attempt to bully, bribe, and intimidate those who do not toe the official government line into falling into lockstep with this radical agenda. It will only be a matter of time, in my opinion, before FEMA takes this one step further and will begin denying States disaster relief funds for floods and earthquakes if the agency “determines” said events were caused by global warming.
The government intends to end the debate by any means necessary…

Welllll, isn’t this just a fun new development?!? If we can’t get them to agree with us we will MAKE them agree… Geezer, doesn’t that sound like a familiar past event in our history? Hmmmm. Good grief!! What happened to being able to stand up and shout out what we believed in, no matter whether anyone else agreed? Now, I can’t run for Governor (cuz you know I want too…Not!) if I don’t swallow what they are selling?? And the beat goes on…

How far does Obama have to go before even his Kool Aide drinking minions realize what a p.o.s. he is? What does he have to do to get his thug tactics reported in the MSM?
I ran Google on a few names from the article. In the first three pages, there is NOT ONE account of this, not even FOX or the Wall Street Journal. It will be interesting to see how long it takes them to catch up, or if they do.

Dr. J,
The media will find out because of bloggers like Steve. 🙂
obama doesn’t know about this, he will find out just like the rest of us found out, from the media. 😉

P.S. When will the lawsuits begin? There isn’t much left of States Rights, is there enough left to put an end to this nonsense?

The states are pushing back against common core, obamacare, federal gun laws, other unconstitutional federal laws. The ATF backed down (temporarily?) on their insane ammo ban. Maybe they will make a stink about this. The people of these states have to demand that their reps and senators put a stop to this.

States rights are all but gone but, as Laura pointed out, they are trying to fight back on a few issues so if they are loud enough and there is enough of them perhaps something can get done.

The comments are something to read, as well. One in particular talks about my state of Illinois. Most of us here in the state are CONSERVATIVE (the damaging votes come from Cook County), it is the Senate/House that run the show. We were not happy with Obama when he was a State Senator, he pulled shady shit on the Republican he was running against to win, guess that doesn’t surprise anyone now. Then he moved on to DC where he was voted in because he voted “present” in Illinois??? Now he is in OUR house and his tactics have not changed, only intensified. At least we have been able to elect a Republican Governor of which we have not had in awhile. There is so much corruption that happens during elections here in my state that I am surprised that we were able to get him into office. He (Rauner) is going to be fighting a battle with the Democrats that control Springfield, but hopefully a fighter he is. We are out of money, but the illegals and welfare clientele are flocking to our state for the great benefits we offer. This is going on while businesses are leaving the state and relocating to lower tax rate states. I am not sure how a state can stay afloat, but I guess with tax increases going up on the residents, that is how it happens. Gov. Rauner is going to try and turn this around, I wish him the best of luck and will be doing what I can, again, with our next election to try and get our state to a place that the Conservatives that live here are proud to be from Illinois, again. Right now, that seems to be a pipe dream.

Just finished reading the article and the comments. I continue to marvel at the number of people who see absolutely nothing wrong with alarming increased intrusion of government into our private lives. So many people just accept it as normal and natural. It’s scary.
Reading the comments all I could think was ‘dismiss, deny, deflect, deride.’

I know, Laura. There are just a bunch of complacent people that have more important things going on in their lives….what is more important than our freedom and our health? This Administration knows right where to hit us the hardest.

You’re right lou, what is more important? Why do people even run for office if they don’t care about upholding the Constitution, protecting our Rights, freedoms, Country, way of life? It just dawned on me, what an idiot. DUH – they don’t care! They don’t see being an elected official the way they should see it.
I’m so naive, sometimes – well, lots of times – I’m a real life Pollyanna. Except this isn’t going to end the way the movie did.

I guess one has to believe in the GOOD that is out there, but at what point do we have to take a step back and see the whole picture? I am not sure if most people get into politics to help our country, state, county and townships OR if they see it as a way to get their foot in the door to a life long career with big bucks as the outcome. Term limits should be mandatory, that way it might keep people like Reid, Pelosi, Durbin, Boehner, etc. from sucking off of us for years and becoming millionaires. If we could write the end to this “movie”, I doubt it would have the outcome I suspect it is going to have.

Getting the money out of public service is crucial. Which means no more unions, pay/benefits/retirement commensurate with the median income. Turn these people back into our servants again. A mandatory break between terms. Congress – 12 yrs then mandatory 6 yr break. State and local offices would be similar.
One thing is vital – we have to stop letting the government define the Constitution and its powers.
That is a huge task, though. To do it, the people have to change how they choose their representatives and campaign finance reform is a must. Why should any entity who cannot vote in an election be permitted to donate – influence – that election? Only constituents have the standing to donate to a campaign. This has nothing to do with speech – money is not speech. It has to do with representation. If you can’t vote for the candidate, you can’t donate, simple. Only people can vote, so only people can donate. Only constituents can vote so only constituents can donate. What could be more logical?

Yes, getting the money out is crucial and it is interesting to note that Democratic voters agree with this notion until you mention the unions. They do not have a problem with union donations because they agree with what the unions stand for. If they are serious about getting money out of politics it has to work both ways but once again we have to bring up the issue of hypocrisy.

Soon there will be no aspect of our lives which is not monitored by somebody unless people begin to stand up and say enough is enough. It is troubling that so many people either don’t know about or care about this level of intrusion. I do think some of the younger people will come around when they realize their social media and online activities are being watched, but of course they might not put the blame in the proper place. For awhile it looked like Rand Paul was going to be able to win over young people with his talk about privacy and maybe he will if he starts talking about it again.

Bunker, Congress could keep this President in check, but there are so few of them that are willing to do that. Couple that with all the in-fighting going on within the Republican party and this is what we are left with.
I am seeing a bit of displeasure going on within the Democratic side on some of the issues that are coming up. I do not know if that will be enough to stop him from taking this country down, but they better take a good long look at what he is doing, because it will bite them in the butt as surely as it will the Republicans. He doesn’t care about them, either, they are useful, but only up to a point. I am not sure if he has any loyalty in him, I am leaning towards NO he doesn’t.

You are right, lou. Congress could and should be keeping the whole executive branch in check, but they aren’t. They are too busy worrying about themselves to actually do their job.
I’ve noticed some dems speaking out, but not enough, not nearly enough.
How did we get here?
The Talking Heads song ‘Once In A Lifetime’ comes to mind.
“And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself
Well…How did I get here?
Letting the days go by
Let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by
Water flowing underground
Into the blue again
After the money’s gone
Once in a lifetime
Water flowing underground
And you may ask yourself
How do I work this?
And you may ask yourself
Where is that large automobile?
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful house
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself
What is that beautiful house?
And you may ask yourself
Where does that highway go to?
And you may ask yourself
Am I right?…Am I wrong?
And you may say to yourself yourself
My God!…What have I done?!
Same as it ever was…
Same as it ever was…
Same as it ever was…
Look where my hand was
Time isn’t holding us
Time isn’t after us
Same as it ever was…
Same as it ever was…
Same as it ever was…
Same as it ever was…
Same as it ever was…
Same as it ever was…
Same as it ever was…
Yeah, the twister comes
Here comes the twister
Same as it ever was…”

I can only imagine that Obama will become more strident as his days come to an end. To come to the realization that we have a President who will stop at nothing to achieve his “transformational” goals” gives us all pause. With luck it is the beginning of the end of all of this nonsense.

Bunker and Laura, this reminds me of going to the Doctors office, you either take the tests they want OR they will withhold your meds until you do. The Government is withholding money and guess they can do what they want at this point with no one stopping them. Numbers can and are manipulated all the time. Just because some “authority” tells us something doesn’t make it true. I could tell you all sorts of stuff, but I think it would be up to you to do your research and see if YOU think it is correct or not. I guess that is the problem, there are so few people that want to fact check something and are taking the Government at their word. Me?? Not so much, I question almost everything I read, now. Of course Obama has his marching orders, who they come from, we all have different opinions on that. He is on a fast train to demolishing everything our country has been based on and kids in school now, they do not seem to think there is a problem. I say, it is up to the baby boomers to deal with this Administration. Our parents have fought the good fight and have left it in our hands, we owe this to them to keep American what it has been, the greatest country in the world. Our children, well hopefully we have taught them enough at home to off set what the schools are teaching them.

I agree, lou, too many people just accept whatever they hear or read. Whether it be from government, media, whomever. Not many people take the time to find out for themselves whether the information is accurate or not.
A little OT… I just ended a discussion with a man who actually said that a judge’s ruling is what they think something is or should be. That it is only their belief that something is or is not unconstitutional. That nothing is unconstitutional until SCOTUS says it is. My jaw literally dropped. This is what people actually believe???? How do we fix something like this???

Might be a good way for states to quit taking ‘mafia funds’ from the Feds. If they can’t work with all the funds they have already it’s time to kick them out & replace them with conscientious Pro Americans.

As long as the states take “federal” money they will have to follow the rules that come along with it and this is a perfect example.

When I renewed my driver’s license in NV the gal asked me if I wanted one (a Real ID card). I told her I didn’t know what that was. She told me I’d need my birth certificate, SS card and proof of residence – which they have all that info (have seen my birth certificate) to get it. Stating it was going to be mandatory in another year – you’d need it to board commercial airline and get into Fed buildings. I declined. Here’s what I mean: http://dmvnv.com/
That’s why what Corbett’s reporting is important. This will be a global requirement.

At some point, you will not be able to go anywhere without a Federal ID card, or get your meds or buy a house, etc. You will also be forced to get shots, you know for your own “good”. You name it, you will not be able to do it. At first, like most things, it will be new and people want new things, until they find out what it is, then it is too late to change back to what we have now. It is all about control, any way you look at it. This is what Obamacare is all about, they could give 2 sh*ts about if we have medical coverage, however they DO want to know everything about us AND take on massive amounts of money that we have to pay to get this coverage. It is a win/win for them and a big LOSE for us. Wouldn’t you think people would be smart enough to see these things? Has intelligence been down graded? We are in big trouble… the more we let them get away with the more we lose,,,,why is that so hard to comprehend?
