John Boehner to push the House to give Barack Obama fast-track authority on the Trans-Pacific Partnership

 Last month the Senate Republicans–who have been bitching and moaning about Barack Obama usurping power which the Constitution grants to the Congress–willingly handed Barack Obama more power which rightfully belongs to the Congress when they voted to give him fast-track authority on the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Suddenly those Republicans who claim to believe in the Constitution and the separation of powers contained within basically said nevermind. Here at America’s Watchtower we call these Republicans selective Constitutionalists.

  And speaking of selective Constitutionalists: John Boehner is now pushing the House to also hand over power given to the legislative branch in the Constitution over to the Executive branch as well.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Wednesday said he’s hopeful the House will pass legislation this month granting President Obama fast-track trade powers, but said the votes aren’t there yet.

“I don’t think we’re quite there yet,” Boehner said in an interview on Fox News Radio’s “Kilmeade & Friends.”

“But over the next couple weeks, we hope to get this bill on the floor and get it passed. It’s an important priority for the country,” he said.

  The votes might not be there at this point in time but you can rest assured they will be when push comes to shove because, as I have said many times now, the establishment is on the same side and this is just a little game being played using the Hegelian dialectic to make it appear as if there are two opposing sides on this issue when there is not. This faux opposition is being waged for appearances only but the predetermined synthesis will be realized. ordo ab chao

  John Boehner continued:

Boehner acknowledged some in his party are opposing the fast-track legislation, known as Trade Promotion Authority or TPA, simply because they don’t trust Obama.

But the Speaker added: “This is not about the president; frankly, it’s about the country. It’s why I’ve worked with the president on a number of trade agreements over the course of his tenure and my tenure as Speaker,” including deals with Panama and South Korea.

  This is not about not trusting the President although that might play a partial role in the so-called opposition (he seems to be forgetting it seems to be mostly Democrats who are opposing this measure) this is mostly about the Constitution and the proper role of the three separate branches of the Federal government. But as you can see John Boehner does not care about the document in the least when it does not suit his needs, goals, or ambitions. On this issue he views the Constitution as a hindrance and he has no intention of letting it get in his way.
