John Boehner to bring stand alone TPA vote to the House floor tomorrow

June 17, 2015

Barack Obama has been seeking expanded power to negotiate trade deals, specifically the Trans-Pacific Partnership, but while a bill granting him this power passed the Senate it was killed in the House last week despite John Boehner’s best effort.

This was only a temporary setback however and now it looks as if John Boehner is going to bring a stand alone TPA bill to the floor for a vote tomorrow. Here is more:

President Barack Obama and top Republicans in Congress joined forces Wednesday on a quick, bipartisan rescue attempt for the administration’s trade agenda, left for dead in the House last week in a revolt carried out by Democrats and backed by organized labor.

Officials said the Republican-controlled House would vote Thursday on a stand-alone bill to give Obama the enhanced negotiating authority the administration seeks as part of an effort to complete a 12-nation trade deal with Pacific Rim countries.

The establishment Republicans have been complaining about Barack Obama usurping powers not granted to the Executive Branch in the Constitution on issues such as immigration for quite some time now but now they are more than willing to give him more power thusly taking power away from themselves. This is why I call them selective Constitutionalists–their rhetoric does not match their actions. They oppose giving the President expanded powers when there is an election coming up and they need the votes, but when the agenda is on the line they are not really concerned about the separation of powers guaranteed in the Constitution.

They are frauds and hypocrites and they wonder why they cannot win a national election?

We have been told by the President, as well as pro-trade Democrats and Republicans, that the TPA is good for America because because it will help the middle class but if this is true why are they promising to pass legislation called the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) which is designed to provide assistance to American workers who will lose their jobs as a result of the TPA? There seems to be a disconnect between what they are trying to sell the American people and what in actuality they know is going to happen.

As you can see those in favor of this legislation do not care about the effect this bill will have on the American people for I think we can all agree that most people would rather keep the job they currently have rather than accept government assistance because they lost a job due to the actions of the Federal Government.

But of course the establishment in Washington no longer represent the American people, that much is clear, but rather their true masters who are hidden behind the veil.

The money to be taken from Medicare and Medicaid to fund this newest DC scam TAA will morph into just another entitlement teat open to legal and illegal immigrants who never held a job lost to TPA. These bastards are slick.

Yes they sure are. I keep saying they are all on the same page and put on this little show for the voters and I think this proves it.

And a show it is, Steve. They have no intention of NOT passing this. They will work on it, until it gets passed, that is how they always do it. That the Republicans are heading this, makes me sick. We have no say so in anything anymore. Apparently they know what is best for “the American People”, as John Boehner says. What fools we have become if we believe they have our best interest at heart, this may have been the case for a number of years back, if we really were paying attention. Most of us are busy trying to make a living and “life” gets in the way of paying attention. Now, we are, bet it is too late! I am so sick of ILLEGALS taking front stage to ANY American….how is this possible????
Peter, you said these bastards are slick, I am in total agreement with you on that!

Ha, I put in “never”….take it out, please. I meant that this may have been the case for a number of years back!

Well it passed today now it has to go back to the Senate. It may be stalled in the Senate for awhile but this is all part of the game–it will pass eventually.

You know they just toy with us, giving us a “show” for our money, if you will! I had no doubt it would pass, just WHEN. The Senate will pull the same crap, it is inevitable, we should know this by now. One can only wonder why Congress wants to give away their power! At what point do THEY become not needed anymore? I bet this Administration has a plan for that, as well. Something along the lines of minimum wage workers putting themselves right out of their jobs is what this sounds like. It seems we have elected idiots into positions of power….but WHO are the actual idiots? Hmmmm?

It makes me wonder when all of this is going to end, Steve! Each time an issue comes up, we know they will play with us for awhile before going in for the kill. You know, like wild animals do with their prey! Is that what we have become? It is not IF anymore, but WHEN on major bills, they will pass them after they make a showing of standing up for us. I am not buying it anymore. As much as I dislike the other side of the aisle, I am not sure that the “right”, has not caught up with them on my dislike scale now.

I don’t see it ending any time soon because too many people don’t seem to see what is going on! I dislike them all at this point because they are all on the same side.

Stickman acting prez “has been seeking expanded power” … The sentence need not go on to explain the details because it includes everything and anything! Their words mean nothing. They’re all in the same slime pit together hungry for more power, $$$, influence, fine dining and Cuban cigars (or powder & other unmentionable perversions). Reasoning has nothing to do w/ this, it’s just corrupt DEBAUCHERY.

Yep. Why is it that once the majority of them get into office, they never leave? Surely it is NOT all the perks they get! Expanded power is an under statement, Zip! He/they want TOTAL control of the American people and their money/land/water. We saw it coming, why didn’t others?
OT it is raining extremely hard out…glad I mowed the grass already! It is a good day to stay inside, hot and muggy out and now rain,,,,all in all a BAD hair day, haha! I “might” go down in the dungeon and get some ironing done, OR NOT!
