Open thread for Saturday, August 8th: ‘Where is my Mind?”

August 8, 2015

open-thread Here is the open thread for Saturday, August 8th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

Last week was a more normal week with 7 stories, not as many as I would like but did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!

Today is the last day of my vacation; at some point today or tonight we will be driving home and then tomorrow it is back on the road to Virginia for another week. I will be in the truck for 11 hours so that is why the open thread comes a day early. The Pixies were a Boston band in the late ’80’s and early ’90’s who were pretty popular in the region for awhile and had moderate success nationally and internationally before they eventually broke up. Here is “Where is my Mind” performed live in 1988.

  Enjoy:

That’s a relevant question today isn’t it! Thing is, one must have one functioning enough to determine the answer.

One I use to really like back in it’s day ~ still a good I think!

Every year in Newburyport there is an end of the Summer festival with free music. Last year Toad the Wet Sprocket was the final act. My wife and I tried to go but it was too late and we could not get anywhere close. Thanks for sharing.

Here we have another officer down yesterday. Luckily I think the office will live, but I bet that was not the outcome this piece of crap wanted. No one stepped up to help him, but they sure as hell started taking and posting pictures. Black suspect and white plain clothes policeman. This is getting out of hand. I would not want to be a policeman right now, they are targets. I wonder how many points these thugs get that do this stuff? They are not afraid now because police have to second guess every move they make for fear of being a “racist”….this is total crap!

Same as in New York this past week. Ain’t nutting’ but a thang yo.

On another note New York’s card carrying communist Mayor Bill de Blasio has proposed the following to his sicko city council: Urinating in public, drinking alcohol in public and sleeping on the streets will no longer be criminal. Shitting and fucking in public can’t be far off.

You got that right, Peter! Even Commissioner Bratten is wanting to retire and he is just not what I call above board, either. De Blasio has done nothing but set NY back 10 years with how he governs!

Then you have pieces of crap like this that thinks he can get away with treating an officer with no respect and, well….it has gotten out of hand! I guess the sky is the limit when all you have to do is cry “racism”!

No problem Lou; normally I get a notification almost immediately that I have a comment in moderation so I am able to approve it fairly quickly. However I have been on the road all day driving back to Virginia so I was not able to check my notifications until I got here.

Bratton has been sniffing de Blasio’s undies ala NJ governor Chris Christie swapping spit with Obama on the beach. He is an opportunist phony whose scruples left him when he left Giuliani As for de Blasio the number of assholes voting in NYC has grown exponentially and he will most likely win in a landslide unless his son shaves off his Afro and he divorces his black Pygmy wife. Remember that the world’s center of capitalism, banking, finance and trade has elected a card carrying commie to the mayor’s office once and not unlike Obama a second term is sure to follow.

Ok, Peter, you had to use the word I hate the most, “exponentially”, however I will let it slide since you did it concerning that Commie POS…New York will pay dearly for electing him. I know they consider themselves so much further above the rest of us, but they will suffer all the same. Bratton has outlived his usefulness and needs to go. Some people never learn, guess they will find that out soon enough.
Giuliani was good for New York, but why they elected de Blasio, I justed cannot understand. What is the IQ level on average in New York? Just asking!!

Yeah, for some reason people don’t seem to equate the deterioration with the politicians they elect or the policies they support so they keep electing the same people to fix what they have been screwing up.

I would say they are having a very hard time, on the whole, of coming to terms with what they have done. How does one save face when one has really screwed up? Hmmmmm!

Here was another good article…the GOP is not even hiding what they are doing to candidates they do not want to run….not unlike the Democrats now, sorry to say….what a shame.

This might get buried because I am posting on the open thread, but hope you see it and watch the video. It is SHORT and to the point and speaks volumes:
