New California poll shows Ted Cruz in a virtual tie with Donald Trump
While the national polls continue to show Donald Trump with a big lead over all of his Republican rivals Ted Cruz has been making some headway where it really counts–in the state polls. Last month an Iowa poll showed Ted Cruz with a ten point lead on Donald Trump and now a new California poll shows Ted Cruz surging. He is now two points ahead of Donald Trump, which amounts to a statistical tie.
Here is more:
Ted Cruz has surged to a statistical tie with Donald Trump among Republicans in California, while Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina have tumbled in this late-voting state, according to a new poll.
The Field Poll, released Tuesday, reflects Cruz’s momentum nationally in the crowded Republican presidential field.
Cruz, a favorite of evangelicals and tea party conservatives, is the first choice of 25 percent of likely Republican voters in California, according to the poll. Trump stands at 23 percent, while Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is running third at 13 percent. The difference between Cruz’s and Trump’s numbers is within the poll’s margin of error.
Don’t trust anything out fo CA.

I know any poll can be twisted to what you want the outcome to be. Maybe by putting doubt in peoples minds about Trump will have some on the fence saying they are going to look for someone else to vote for. We have seen it all, haven’t we? All the shady crap going on and never an honest election for years. Not sure what that would look like anymore.

It is true that polls can be spun and in fact the outcome can be influenced by the way the question is framed and I have to admit I am guilty to a point as well. As someone who does not trust Trump I tend to post the polls which show Trump not as in command of the primary as it looks like he is. But still, I think the national polls don’t necessarily reflect what is going to happen when the individual states begin to vote.

We have 7 years leading up to this time….we tried to put someone else into office in 2012 and what did the Republicans give us??? I do not think that McCain would have been much different had he been voted in, do you? Maybe this time we can get someone that maybe just likes this country, love it might be a stretch, but is still possible. I do not think that anyone is entitled as we were seeing with Jeb, but you know the Republicans might still have something up their sleeves and bring in Jeb and shove him at us…why is he still in the race? Why is anyone that is down in the 3% and below range? They should automatically be booted out….would be much easier on all of us. This has been a circus. The debates are a joke, as well. While the GOPe is screwing around, Hillary will slip in and take the Presidency!

I don’t think McCain of Romney would have been much different if they were voted in and I think all those who stayed home felt the same way. It is time for the Republicans to nominate a candidate who is clearly different from the Democrats and that is why the voters love Trump. I call into question whether Trump actually has the conservative credentials, he talks a good game right now but I wonder where his true agenda lies.

Guess at some point we have to go on faith that Trump or Cruz will do what they say…we have been lied to so much, I do not think most of us trust anyone any more.

66% of Americans don’t trust Hill-a-beans, but she has a VERY good shot at the WH. The Dems don’t care about trust, they care about putting a Dem in the WH

Righto Bruce. Conversely the RINO nation cares only about getting a fellow RINO as their candidate whether or not he has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning.

I think you hit the nail on that head with that comment, Bruce. The Dems really do not care, they only want a D in back of the name. We can see some of idiots in Congress that prove that point, but then again there are alot we have put there with the R behind their name.
I do happen to care, as most of us here, that we get the best we can put as the Republican candidate. It doesn’t always work out that way.
What I do not understand IF 66% do not trust her and STILL they will elect her, what exactly is their thought process?

Peter, maybe if what you say is true, there is getting to be less and less difference between the 2 parties as we have suspected. To have so much condescension in one party is getting really old, isn’t it? For some reason, a portion of the Republican Party has decided that I am getting to old or stupid or whatever, to make my own decision on who I want as a candidate. They feel they need to force someone on me/us. I am here to tell you, I do not take too kindly to having that happen. They are going to start losing alot of votes that way. I see alot of people going “Independent”, as well, that I know, because they are tired of crap1

I can’t begin to imagine the thought process of the left, but I suspect it is the result of effective training. As Dennis Prager says, schools are nothing but left wing seminars. Think about how people our age and older, learned values. 1st, at home with a nuclear family. 2nd, church. 3rd, LOCAL schools with LOCALLy trained teachers. 4th public organizations like Boy and Girl Scouts. 5th reading the classics. ALL THAT IS GONE. Now we have the “Modern Family”. Children have been made “defacto” wards of the state. Government daycare, government preschool, government controlled teachers, government meals, government designed books, left wing TV, left-wing movies, Christ removed from Christmas, the word God removed from everything possible.
So no, no thought process, just great programming.

Bruce, I think there are still some of the 30-somethings that are having kids and waking up to what is going on. Maybe some of them are not so far gone, that they are not going to put up a fight…but yes, what we grew up with is pretty much gone now.
