Afterburner with Bill Whittle: ‘The Lottery: Instructions on Winning’

January 15, 2016

When I sat down at the computer tonight I quickly realized that just do not have the fight in me tonight. It is nothing serious, this just happens from time to time to many bloggers. Or at least to me anyway…

Luckily for me Bill Whittle released his latest Afterburner video entitled “The Lottery: Instructions on Winning” so I have decided to post this video and take the night off from blogging.

This is an interesting video in which Bill Whittle talks about the “hope” many people see in playing the lottery and how it is really just a false hope with little chance of succeeding. He talks about how if people, instead of relying on this false hope which will most likely never yield results, instead focused on hard work and dedication they might at least achieve some of their dreams.

This video is a little different than what we are used to seeing from Bill Whittle but I found it to be thought-provoking. Here it is, enjoy:

They just don’t seem to understand that if they raise taxes it does not mean they can raise the spending as well!

We have so many “freebies” here in the state, that always gets funded along with increases in pay for certain people in the government. They want to add more and more we have to pay and nothing that NEEDS paying gets paid. I told you before that the state run insurance (Cigna) for the college staffs (they pay for the insurance) is paid thru the state. When my Mom had it a few years back and then passed away, I had to wait on average 1 to 1 1/2 years for the bills to be paid, even though she had paid into the insurance monthly and Cigna had approved the bills to be paid. My brother has the same insurance and they are still doing the same thing….wonder what happened to that big tax increase money they sucked out of us last year? This is what happens here, nothing that NEEDS to be paid is ever paid and they find more reasons they need it for a new welfare program, etc. And you wonder why people are moving out of this state in droves? We would if we didn’t have so much here we have tying us down. At think at some point my husband will finally say enough is enough and we will sell all our houses and at least move to Missouri. That would be somewhat of an improvement and we would closer to alot of family. We have Governor Rauner (republican) that is trying to put a stop to alot of what the Democratic machine has done for years. I talked to one of my old emergency friends yesterday morning that is working thru IEMA (Ill. Emergency Management Agency) now instead of the county group and he is a die hard Democrat…he says he really likes the man and says he is doing good things for the state….for him to say that means ALOT. Maybe there is hope…main thing is we need to get the Madigans out of office over there (father and daughter) and things might really start making an improvement.

Yep, B, we are headed for the “unknown” at the moment…we kind of have an idea what is coming, but I bet we get hit hard with stuff we had no idea about.

Thanks Bunker! We have a long and hard battle ahead of us and Lou is right, even though we know what is probably coming there will be surprises.

    OT:
I am on the verge of doing away with my cable tv and home phone and just keeping the internet. My bill is up to 150 a month with just basic/expanded tv (no movie channels), phone and internet. I think since we have the main tv that is a “smart” one, and we have it hard wired it with an ethernet cable, we watch NETFLIX most the time…as for the phone, we both have cells and might get 1 call a day on the home phone…I am going to port over our home number of 28 years to my cell only because the husband doesn’t want to lose it, I am not attached to my cell #, we are mostly on the internet anyway, so tv doesn’t come into play and NETFLIX has so many series that you would never run out of a season…might get a Magic Jack at some point, but WHY? That would be to appease him, anyway. I am sick of the bill going up and up and other than a really slow internet, will have to stick with Comcast. I thought I had gotten it down to 122 a month and BOOM, Jan 1st hit with increases. Does anyone else have any suggestions? We have a radiant barrier in the attic for insulation, so any AM radio or tv channels just do not come into the house with a regular antenna….but I can pull tv stuff up on the laptop, I think. I am just tired of being TAXED to death on the cable bill for stuff for OTHER PEOPLE and for things I do not watch….let me know IF any of you have done this change over and what has been the outcome for you. Thanks

Just so you know. My wife says that the new episodes of Blacklist are not on Netflix so you might want to wait until the season is over!
