Bernie Sanders wins Time 100 reader poll as the ‘most influential person in the world’

  According to this story Bernie Sanders has won (with 3.3% of the vote mind you) Time 100 poll as the “most influential person in the world,” beating out both our current President and our next President–Hillary Clinton.

  Barack Obama came in fourth place while the former Secretary of State, who is actually beating Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary, came in at twenty-fifth.  I guess you could say he has been an influence on the former Secretary of State because she has been trying to “out-Sanders” Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary…

  I can understand politicians making the list, after all for better or worse they have a major influence in world affairs, and I understand the Pope making the list but someone has to explain to me how people like Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Leonardo DiCaprio are influencing so many people. And for that matter how did South Korean boy band Big Bang come in at number two? Who has even heard of this band?

  But I guess that goes a long way in explaining how Bernie Sanders can come in at number one…
