Homophobic Bernie Sanders looks to replace Barney Frank as a committee chair at the Democratic convention
In the wake of Hillary Clinton getting 60 Bernie Sanders delegates disqualified the Senator from Vermont is firing back. He has filed a complaint with the Democratic National Committee seeking the removal of two Hillary Clinton allies from committee chairs.
Here is more:
Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign has moved to remove Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy and former Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank as the chairmen of two Democratic National Convention Standing Committees.
The Sanders campaign sent a formal letter late Friday to Lorraine Miller and James Roosevelt Jr., the co-chairs of the Democratic National Committee’s Rules and Bylaws Committee, making a formal credentials challenge to having Frank and Malloy as co-chairmen of two of the three committees.
Malloy serves as the co-chairman of the Platform Committee and Frank is the co-chairman of the convention’s Rules Committee.
He is calling into question the credentials of these two men and you should note that one of the people is former Massachusetts Representative Barney Frank. Does Bernie Sanders have an ulterior motive here?
Whether you agree with the politics of Barney Frank or you do not (and I certainly do not) it is hard to make the case that he is not credentialed enough to hold this chairmanship. After all he was the chairman of a very influential committee during his (too long) tenure in Washington so it seems to me that Bernie Sanders must have another reason for his opposition to Barney Frank–he is homophobic.
The only question I have is this; does this targeting, harassment, and defamation of a prominent openly gay man constitute a hate crime?
