The State Department is reopening its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email use
The Associated Press is reporting that now that the FBI’s investigation is over the State Department is reopening its investigation into the handling of classified information by Hillary Clinton and her top aides. Here is more:
The State Department is reopening an internal investigation of possible mishandling of classified information by Hillary Clinton and top aides, officials told The Associated Press on Thursday.
Although the former secretary of state’s closest confidants have left the agency, they could still face punishment. The most serious is the loss of security clearances, which could complicate her aides’ hopes of securing top positions on her national security team if she becomes president.
The State Department started its review in January after declaring 22 emails from Clinton’s private server to be “top secret.” It was suspended in April so as not to interfere with the FBI’s inquiry. State Department spokesman John Kirby said the probe is restarting after the Justice Department’s announcement Wednesday that it won’t bring any criminal charges.
“We will aim to be as expeditious as possible, but we will not put artificial deadlines on the process,” Kirby said. “Our goal will be to be as transparent as possible about our results, while complying with our various legal obligations.”
I would not hold my breath waiting for anything to come of this because as Right Scoop opined:
Oh okay since criminal proceedings are done, they don’t mind giving her a slap on the hand so that it doesn’t look like she’s totally getting away with it. Of course.
However this does assure us that this controversy is not over and, despite what Hillary Clinton is saying, it is not time to move on just yet. This news means the story will linger much longer into the Presidential election cycle than the former Secretary of State would like and at this point the best we can hope for is that this will keep Hillary Clinton from the Presidency. That would be good enough for me at this point…

I am more convinced than ever that the issue is that Hillary does not know how nor does use a computer. I recall earlier reading about it, that all she can do is use a blackberry. Thus it is Mills and Huma who are the ghost writers and readers. Thus how can she be prosecuted. There were hints today that she wasn’t technically savey… bet it is worse than that.

You could be onto something there, I think I remember something about this as well now that you mention it. Remember the grief McCain took because he didn’t use email back in 2008?

This is a cya investigation. If you read Coney’s statement he trashed the State Department and basically blamed them for running a sloppy shop. A case of the pot calling the kettle black!
