Report: Donald Trump close to naming John Bolton Secretary of State
It is now being reported in several places that Donald Trump is leaning towards naming John Bolton as his Secretary of State. It is also being reported that Newt Gingrich is out of the running. Here is how the Huffington Post is reporting the unconfirmed story:
President-elect Donald Trump is leaning toward naming as secretary of state John Bolton, a bellicose enemy of Russia and Iran who is among the most hawkish members of the Republican foreign policy community, according to two sources familiar with Trump’s thinking.
Bolton is the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, but served less than two years, as Democrats banded together to block his long-term appointment. His time was marked by a rapid uptick in anti-American sentiment among the global diplomatic community. Bolton remains one of the most disliked foreign policy operators on the world stage.
That’s odd! During the campaign the left claimed that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin were working together to take down Hillary Clinton so how can this be? Oh yeah, the left had no proof of this claim, they simply made it up for political gain.
During the election the left accused Donald Trump of being too close to Russia and now they are claiming he is basically trying to antagonize Russia. They cannot have it both ways but they are trying hard. The left-wing media has become unhinged at the unexpected loss and they are losing credibility–that is if they had any left after being so wrong (purposely) during the campaign.
malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium
I am coming to the conclusion that they will throw alot out there and whatever sticks they run with. They are running scared and have no “leader” at the moment. They were hell bent on it being Clinton and now they are lost, what to do, what to do! Clinton has plenty of money to live out the rest of her life, she really no longer needs the little people, so she need not play a part as if she liked any of them.
As for Bolton, I have always considered him a sensible and intelligent man. There is no one that I totally trust anymore, but give him a shot and see how he handles things….I mean, Clinton and then Kerry as Secretary of States, he could do worse than that?

I think you are right; for all of the talk during the election about how the Republicans were split it is now the Democrats who are in disarray. They are becoming unhinged and I have to admit it is fun to watch.
Now they are saying it could be Rudy, I guess it is all just speculation at this point.

Ya, they may be throwing out names at the moment to see what feedback they get. Maybe that might be important to Trump. I think I would rather see Guliani as AG, but then again, they may have a surprise for us with that position, as well. Just about anybody off the street would be more fair with how they would run the country than what we have had in all those positions. I DO however like the fact that Bannon will be the one that Trump will be listening to….what a qualified man he is….he scares the crap out of the left, that is GOOD! We have sure not liked Jarrett in that same position, she did more damage to the country than anyone else I can think of…we know it was HER and not Obama that was making the decisions. Well, her and Soros and those powers that be…but Obama was there for SHOW!

I am a fervent believer that the US, Russia and China should be aligned and allied in the now global war against the worldwide assault on the world being waged by Islam, radical and supposed non-radical Muslims. Anything that interferes with such an alignment should be verboten.
Like most Americans we are fed pablum by the government-military industrio-media complex and what do we really know about Bolton? On one if his broadcasts this past year Dr Michael Savage gave a savage (pun intended) overview of this failed -for lack of a better word-statesman – and his mis-fires and non accomplishments, too many to mention here. If he intends to be Hillary/Obama tough on Russia then We should be disappointed.

Interesting take by Savage. I also saw a headline where he is already tearing into Trump and comparing him to Jeb. I have not read it though.

Propaganda media had those voting for Hilly in fear of Trump going to War w/ Russia – the opposite it seems to be the case. Trump probably has ‘his list’ of those he wants to fill positions who are Pro-America. I’ll be glad to see the Commie Czars kicked out.
Here’s your safe space Steve!

Not so fast. Gilliani is still a possibility. As former mayor of NYC he may have more gravitas then Bolton. Also Mr Mayor is not as hawkish as Bolton. Trump is also getting help from Nigel Farge. This help could be very important in understanding the UK as well as the EU political minefield. Trump has expressed his desire to change the U.S. NATO relationship and normalize relations with Russia. Mr. Mayor is much more gregarious than Bolton which might be an asset when dealing with other diplomats and leaders.
Then again the MSM is throwing around names as part of their disinformation campaign.
