CNN: Obamacare replacement bill on the verge of failure

Donald Trump has stated he expects a vote on the latest version of the Obamacare replacement bill sometime this week, however CNN is reporting the bill may be on the verge of collapse. Here is more:
The White House and congressional Republicans are in serious danger of not having enough votes to pass their health care bill.
Several Republicans have come out Monday against the current measure to repeal and replace Obamacare, bringing CNN’s whip count to 21 Republicans — mostly moderates — opposed to the bill with more than a dozen lawmakers still undecided.The Republican Party can only afford to lose 22 votes assuming all of the Republicans are able to attend the vote and no Democrats cross over. As they count votes, GOP Rep. Jason Chaffetz, who was expected to be out for three to four weeks after surgery, is returning Monday from Utah and will back the bill, his office said.
So according to CNN’s count the Republicans can only lose one more vote and still pass the Obamacare replacement bill with several Republicans still undecided.
If this bill does fail the Republicans have nobody to blame but themselves, they have had nearly eight years to come up with a replacement and they did not. Instead they tried to rush a bill through the Congress and it failed and instead of taking a step back and starting over they decided to try to tweak the flawed legislation and try again.
It appears as if this bill, or some variation of it, is going nowhere and if the Republicans are serious about actually repealing Obamacare it is time for them to scrap this legislation and start over. Of course I don’t think the establishment Republicans were ever serious about repealing Obamacare in the first place, they just used the law as a campaign issue.

The Republicans CANNOT REPEAL THE ACA! They need 60 Senators
What they are supposed to be doing is adopting a budget reconciliation bill
“Legislative Process
The [House of Representatives has ] two separate bills that make up the American Health Care Act were released in response to a budget resolution passed by Congress on Jan. 13, 2017. The budget resolution is a nonbinding spending blueprint that directs House and Senate Committees to create federal budget “reconciliation” legislation.
Once drafted, any budget reconciliation bill can be passed by both houses with a simple majority vote. If these bills are passed in both the Senate and the House, the law would then go to President Donald Trump for approval. However, a full repeal of the ACA cannot be accomplished through this process.”

The republican victory last November was the best thing that could ever have happened for the democrats. Once they sweep the table in 2018 the GOP along with their lame duck leader is finished. Even Dr Michael Savage, Trump’s first and most avid supporter, sounds to be questioning whether his efforts were in vain while we out here the hinterlands are feeling more and more betrayed.
