Sunday, July 2nd open thread: ‘Firecracker Dance’

July 2, 2017

open-threadHere is the open thread for Sunday, July 2nd. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

Last week  we discussed 12 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!

Independence Day is only a couple of days away so here is Fred Astaire doing his firecracker dance from the brilliant movie entitled “Holiday Inn.” Enjoy.

Great videos, thanks for sharing them! The first one was beautiful, the second one I loved, and the third one was powerful. An interesting side note: The second signer of the Declaration was Josiah Bartlett and he lived about a mile away from me an attended the same church that I do. He was also buried across from where he lived. I think I will take a couple of pictures and share them in my Independence Day post.

Glad you liked them! Too bad they don’t open in the comments section (because of ‘approving’ them from your cell), but they open when clicked on, so hopefully viewers just do that. Interesting about Josiah, that would make for a informative posting! Thanks!
Oh, liked the ‘Firecracker Dance’! Fred was creative wasn’t he!

I love Fred Astaire and it is pretty cool that my oldest son Andy loves him as well, I guess I passed it down to him!
Here is something I wrote about Josiah Bartlett in the past: https://americaswatchtower.com/my-towns-claim-to-fame/
I am definitely going to post something about him on Tuesday, you have inspired me!
I noticed that whenever you post multiple links that is when polldaddy adds a link to your comment, I am not sure why…

I’ll remember to not post as many at a time then – hopefully that work better.
Thanks for the link – I’ll look it over!
It is nice when a family member enjoys the same interest, then you get to share in it together ~ adds to the fun!

I don’t have a problem with the polldaddy link showing up, just wondering what triggers it. I have never clicked on it to see what it actually is.
It is pretty cool having interests in common with my boys.
