Mitch McConnell’s Obamacare replacement bill kickbacks

July 17, 2017

We all remember how upset the establishment Republicans were during the Obamacare debate when Harry Reid was “bribing” politicians in order to get them to vote in favor of the legislation. Most Republican voters were also upset about kickbacks such as the “Cornhusker Kickback” and all the others. But while the Republicans in Washington DC were upset back then they seem to have taken a liking to kickbacks now that they are in power.

According to this story Mitch McConnell is now taking a page out of Harry Reid’s playbook because “this is how things get done.” Here is some of the kickbacks Mitch McConnell and the establishment Republicans are offering moderate Republicans in order to obtain their votes:

  • Polar Payoff — The revised legislation requires that 1 percent of funds meant to ‘stabilize’ the insurance market are available to states “where the cost of insurance premiums are at least 75 percent higher than the national average,” sources told Fox News. Alaska is the only state that meets this benchmark under the new legislation and would receive $1.82 billion over the next eight years, sources said.

  • Bayou Bailout — Louisiana and Alaska — and potentially other states — would benefit from this sweetener. The provision, a major selling point for Cassidy, would tweak the formula so that states that were late to expand Medicaid could get more funding.

  • Sunshine Sellout — Sources said this provision was meant to benefit Rubio’s Florida. The tweak would change the way funding is calculated under the “Disproportionate Share Hospital” program, resulting in more money for Florida.

Bob Nelson, who was the man who obtained the “Cornhusker Kickback,” was quick to pounce on the Republicans’ hypocrisy:

“When roles are reversed, it’s humorous,” Nelson told Fox News. “Republicans were criticizing Democrats for things done back then, and now, they’re engaged in the same thing in order to get the number of votes necessary.”

Bob Nelson is 100% right on this, the establishment Republicans are a bunch of hypocrites and that is why Donald Trump was able to win the Presidency, people are sick and tired of politics as usual and this it more of the same.

I have been saying for quite some time now, years in fact, that the Republicans in Washington are no different than the Democrats, they only put on a show of resistance over the years for political gain. This is nothing but a game with both sides taking opposite sides on an issue to create dissent and chaos so in the end they can implement the predetermined result. (The Hegelian Dialectic)

In the end the establishment Republicans and Democrats are on the same side, it is us verses them or the ruling class verses the ruled if you prefer, and this is just more proof that both sides are the same and this is why so many Republicans in Washington oppose Donald Trump. He is not one of them…
