Sunday, July 23rd open thread: ‘Shoots and Ladders’

July 23, 2017

open-threadHere is the open thread for Sunday, July 23rd. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

Last week we discussed 10 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower.

Here is a little ditty by the band Korn called “Shoots and Ladders” which has bagpipes, nursery rhymes, and ends with a portion of Metallica’s “One” as performed live last year.

“There is no credible evidence that a salt-restricted diet lowers blood pressure in the vast majority of people, nor does it lead to heart disease or stroke.”

Seems like our useful idiot politicians lied about our health.

“We’ve all heard the recommendation: eat no more than a teaspoon of salt a day for a healthy heart. But there’s one big problem with this: the vast majority of us don’t need to eat low-salt diets. In fact, for most of us, more salt would be better for our health, rather than less. (Not to mention, much tastier.) Now, Dr. James DiNicolantonio reveals the incredible, often baffling story of how salt became unfairly demonized—a never-before-told, century-spanning drama of competing egos and interests. Not only have we gotten it wrong, we’ve gotten it exactly backwards: eating more salt can help protect you from a host of ailments, including internal starvation, insulin resistance, diabetes, and even heart disease. (The real culprit? Another white crystal—sugar.)”

The Republicans still don’t get the American voter wants an end to business as usual. The health care debate has proven the Republicans are incapable of leading. Here in his video Jimmy Dore the BS progressive left point outs this failure. He also notes the Democrats have a similar problem and calls for a third party.

Both sides only care about themselves and remaining in power. They do not care about us, they just put on a show.

(Natural News) Reaching new lows in fake journalism that only CNN could achieve, the “Clinton News Network” recently aired a ridiculous segment in opposition to President Trump’s temporary travel ban that aimed to brainwash children by pulling in one of their favorite television characters: Sesame Street’s Elmo … This wouldn’t be the first time, of course, that Elmo has been politicized to push a political or corporate agenda. Back in 2015, the friendly red character was positioned alongside then-United States Surgeon General Vivek Murthy in a video that aimed to indoctrinate children into believing that vaccines are wonderful and that everyone needs them in order to stay healthy.
See how the ‘indoctrination loonies’ are feeding their lies to the masses:
