Sunday, January 7th open thread: ‘Famous Blue Raincoat’

January 7, 2018

  open-threadHere is the open thread for Sunday, January 7th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

  Last week we discussed 6 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

  In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

  The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower.

  And now for something completely different: The Blacklist returned last Wednesday night and this song was playing in the opening scene. I found it dark, sad, and haunting and some of you may know I love dark, sad, and haunting songs so here is Leonard Cohen performing “Famous Blue Raincoat” live.

    From “Far North Weaver” on G+
    “Just to let you all know… Today is Jan. 7th, 2018, and the Moon is in the 7th House, and Jupiter is aligned with Mars…

    Do you think Peace will guide the Planets, and Love will fill the stars???
    😀 lol”

      When I red what you wrote I was going to say it reminded me of a song, but then I saw you posted it. 🙂 Somehow I don’t think the world is yet ready for peace and love…

    Some information is worthy to listen to when its truthful, but the fakes and lies are like a virus and malware that’s best to be removed.

      Very well done Zip! Thanks for sharing it. All of those things were not coincidences, they were programming and the way it showed how the videos were really made was amazing. The ending with Pilate reminded me of something I read in one of Dr. Peter Kreeft’s books (I can’t remember which one) where he writes that Pilate asked the dumbest question in history and it was a three word question which was answered by the one “Word” standing right next to him.

        Thanks Steve. Evil has been working day and night to bring in its own Reign over the earth – all nations and this plus other tactics have helped. Not to take away from their adaptation of the Hegelian Dialectic (manipulation of thought by language, imagery and events).
        Not all will want to know, much less be a waken to the facts. Human’s are probably incapable of being ‘totally awake’ (cognizant & mindful of True reality!). But that’s okay too as long as the godly “reclaim and restore” what the ‘bottom feeders’ have been stealing away all these years, the Constitutional Republic! The 20% 80% rule and less Peter Principle.😊

        I think they have reached their level and it is time for the Godly to start raising up to take this all back. I hope it’s not too late.

    Interesting tune choice Steve. haha and here I thought your liked rowdy, jump up & down songs! 🙂 Much different ~ ‘calmer and slower’ than your usual choice! I was wondering who was the singer of that entrance song. 😊 For some reason I was thinking it a newer song, but it came out in 1971 (before your time youngie!). That was a ‘different’ take too to begin 2018 with for The Blacklist. Slow and calm. Even in that show the Forestry guy states, ‘There’s a Storm Coming”. How many times have we hear that recently in movies and ‘now’ a “Storm Is Here.” Not the GREAT One, but a Storm nonetheless.
    “From the acclaimed 1971 album Songs of Love and Hate – a very personal song in a form of a letter from one side of a love triangle to another, invoking multiple images including the first biblical murder of Abel by his brother Cain.”

      I had no idea what the song was so I used Shazaam during The Blacklist to find out. I was surprised it was Cohen, it didn’t sound like him to me. I do like the rowdy songs but my favorite band, The Cure, is known for their dark, brooding songs. I actually like more types of music now than I did when I was younger.
      I got the impression it was about some type of love triangle and was probably based on something that happened to him by the way he ended it with his signature. Thanks for the link.

    Regarding the Storm: those keeping up with this and the “Q” postings (President Trump insider) this will make sense, for others it’ll just be interesting and raise questions:

      I do remember Bill Cooper claiming the Bushes were involved in the drug trade.

        I was just listening to this and it’s quite informative – peeling back the onion of these ‘dark pit souls’. Tracy Beanz interviewing J. Corsi ~ a bit long but truth filled.

        It would be great if as part of this “Drain the Swamp” campaign we could get some answers to the drug trade. The US has wasted millions on the war on drugs. We could be paying the locals farmers directly to not grow the plants from which the drugs are derived. We have the military Afghanistan and we still have no clue as to the drug trade there. Ridiculous!

        On the marijuana issue Rand Paul is again all talk and no action. AG Sessions wants to end Obama’s policy of no Federal enforcement. OK enforce the law. However, here is a golden opportunity for Rand and other Civil Libertarians to introduce a bill to take the Federal Government out of enforcement at the local level. Instead they have handed the Ds an issue for 2018. Sen. Booker has a bill to legalize marijuana nationally. Rand Paul just another elite politician and his supporters need to wake up to this fact.

        Yeah, this is a perfect issue for Rand Paul and he is doing nothing.

    Here is an interesting post about Trump’s foreign policy

    Trump Cuts The Gordian Knot Of Foreign Entanglements
    Zerohedge via
    https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2018/01/02/trump-cuts-gordian-knot-foreign-entanglements.html

    “Trump is saying that

    1) the post 911 military interventions did nothing for the country’s security;

    2) foreign interventions impoverish the country;

    3) the alliance system is neither useful nor a good deal for the country;

    4) Russia is not the once and future enemy.

    A Chinese leader might call these the Three Noes (no regime change wars, no overseas adventures, no entangling alliances) and the One Yes (cooperation with Russia and other powers).”

    The author goes on to explain how he thinks Trump can accomplish this.
