Donald Trump signs drug price transparency legislation aimed at lowering prices
Believe it or not something amazing happened today, the Congress actually passed two pieces of legislation and sent them to the President’s desk for his signature. This legislation is designed to lower the costs of prescription drugs and Donald Trump signed them into law today. Here is more:
President Donald Trump signed two bills at the White House on Wednesday aimed at lowering pharmaceutical drug prices by promoting greater disclosure in drug pricing.
The two bills the president signed — the Know the Lowest Price Act and the Patients’ Right to Know Drug Prices Act — are meant to prevent “gag clauses” in agreements between pharmacies and pharmacy benefit managers, the middlemen who administer prescription drug programs for insurance companies, which pharmacists say kept them from disclosing cheaper drug options to consumers.
“It’s way out of whack. It’s way too high,” Trump said of the current state of drug pricing at the signing. “You look at prices in our country and for the exact same drug in other countries, it’s much lower — made in the same plant by the same company — and I said, ‘What’s going on?'”
He added, “Now, they’ll be able to see pricing and they’ll be able to see where they should go and as they start leaving certain pharmacies, those pharmacies will be dropping their prices.”
“It’s a big win for patients,” he told NBC News. “It’s a big win for patients in terms of allowing pharmacists to openly discuss medication prices to save patient money and health care costs.”

Here’s something to warm the cockles iif your prescription buying hearts: As an insulin dependent type 1 diabetic since 1968 I can tell you the following with no BS: Back then a vial of Lily Insulin cost .99, a three pack of insulin vials from Squibb cost $2.00. Today a vial of insulin costs over $100.00 although it costs next to nothing to produce the insulin itself.,Look it up. Infamnia!!!

After major heart attack my husband lost his business & had to accept Social Security early. He was awarded $1200 per month & was expected to spend just shy of $600 of that on just his insulin. There was zero help available to us to make it affordable. He routinely suffers hostility from people who assume that he has food stamps & section 8 because he has more melanin but there has been NOTHING to help us to afford basic life expenses . . . hence mi nombre. Meanwhile our co-workers who straddle 2 nations like to tell us how much the same Rx costs in their nation of birth & the talking heads wonder what happened, why we don’t respond as predicted. It’s difficult to adhere to ideology when one is reduced to trying to stay alive whilst having your poverty ridiculed & denied by those same bobble heads.

Diabetic woman I met from the Czech Republic says insulin Kwik Pens (not insulin vials) that cost $100.00+ here cost $20.00 there. Paraphrasing President Calvin Coolidge, “The business of America is business.” Today the business of America is big business monopolies.

Glad to hear ‘too’ that he’s opened the door after 44 yrs! (whatever that means!) for ‘real medical help’ for VETS! After GITMO-ing all the scum politicians and such, ‘taking away their medical care’, will help ‘pay the bill’ for the deserving! or applying the EO that confiscates their ill-gotten funds they’ve stolen from America and the world. Get them use to being cast out of Grace, into the refining fire.
