Rand Paul: Steve Scalise shooter yelled ‘this is for healthcare’ when he opened fire

  Last year James Hodgkinson opened fire on Republican Congressmen in Washington who were practicing for a charity softball game. It did not take a genius to figure out this was a targeted attack by a deranged alt-left member of the resistance movement who was upset at the recent election and felt he needed to do more than scream at the sky.

  Of course the mainstream media did not want to speculate on a motive and claimed there was no evidence the man only targeted Republicans despite the report Hodgkinson asked if there were Republicans or Democrats on the field before he decided to open fire.

  This was quite a contrast with oh, I don’t know, maybe the Colorado shooter when Brian Ross found a Tea Party member on Facebook with the same name as the killer and decided the attack was politically motivated. Or better yet, the case of the failed Times Square bomber when members of the media speculated the perpetrator could be a Tea Party member who was upset with the healthcare law.

  And speaking of the healthcare law being motivation for an attack; Rand Paul, who himself has recently been attacked by a sky-screamer and was on the field when Steve Scalise was shot, is now revealing that James Hodgkinson was shouting “this is for health care!” when he opened fire.

  Here is what he had to say:

I was there at the ballfield when Steven Scalise almost died from a very, very angry, violent man who was incited, really, by rhetoric on the left. And this hasn’t been reported enough: When he came on to the ball field with a semiautomatic weapon, firing probably close to 200 shots at us, shooting five people and almost killing Steve Scalise, he was yelling, “This is for health care!” He also had a list of conservative legislators–Republicans–in his pocket, that he was going to kill.

  But in an attempt to protect the left this little tidbit was not reported. I would say this is a dereliction of duty and since this time we have only seen the Democratic leaders ramp up the violent rhetoric. If this violent rhetoric continues and it leads to something even worse than the Steve Scalise shooting the mainstream media will be partially responsible because they put their own agenda, and protecting the Democrats, ahead of reporting the truth and protecting actual lives.

  Perhaps if the mainstream media reported this shooting truthfully the Democrats would have realized the error of their ways and toned down the rhetoric instead of increasing it. I doubt it, because the left believes the end justifies the means and, what is it that the Obama administration said about border patrol agent Brian Terry’s murder? Oh yeah, sometimes you need to scramble a few eggs to make an omelet.
