House approves resolution formalizing impeachment inquiry

October 31, 2019

Today the House voted to formalize the impeachment  inquiry. Considering the Democrats have been trying to impeach Donald Trump since he won the election this comes as no surprise, although there was speculation there would be push back from some red state Democrats. That was not the case as only two Democrats opposed the measure.

Republicans wanted this vote to take place because of some of the shady, secret meetings which are reported to have taken place, but if this story is true there are still a couple of concerning issues on the table. It is being reported that the Democrats can basically veto any witness or evidence the White House want to include in the hearing. Here is more:

House Democrats are playing hardball with President Donald Trump. They released procedures Tuesday to allow him and his counsel to participate in the eventual Judiciary Committee portion of the impeachment inquiry, but tucked in a provision that would allow them to take away all the rights they’re granting him.

Under the House Judiciary procedures, Trump and his counsel will be invited to attend all panel proceedings and ask questions. They can also request additional evidence or witness testimony, but the “committee shall determine whether the suggested evidence is necessary or desirable.”

This is supposedly a way to make sure Donald Trump does not stonewall the investigation but the term “desirable” is very concerning because Jerry Nadler has the sole discretion to determine who he desires to hear from. I am sure the Democrats would never abuse their discretion…

Apparently five committees will still continue to hold interviews including Shiff.. Believe it or not I have spent my day on it and I am still not clear that this was a vote for a impeachment inquiry Or is it rules of the road? Supposedly these committees will forward their stuff to judiciary but is that not the time for the impeachment inquiry? Hearings then… then the vote for impeachment? I have heard various conversations…. go figure.

Democrats claim they’re voting on an “impeachment resolution” today, even though nobody knows what an impeachment resolution is. Don’t be confused, this is not an impeachment vote, it’s something else apparently. This vote is just like the kid who is going to knock on your door this evening, it is wearing a mask and costume and claiming it is something it’s not.

That’s a good analogy! They all have their impeachment costumes on. The goal here is to keep the word “impeachment” in the conversation all the way to the election, not necessarily to impeach him.

The way I understand it this was a vote to make the inquiry official and because now that it is official they had to agree to some rules.

It’s bullcrap. They the DemocRATs have declared war on Trump and his supporters. They want to be in power and are using any method they can to obtain it. They know there is not a single DemocRAT candidate that can beat Trump and I include the Arkansas Witch in that.

They seem to want a civil war. I don’t think they know what they are asking for…

They believe if violence erupts they can blame it on the Trump supporters even though they have been agitating for violence for three years.

Can Trump choose to not participate and leave it To the mercy of the senate? Under the Dems House he wii be impeached since they are the judge and the jury.

That is a good question, it would probably be his best bet to simply pretend it is not happening and just continue to campaign.
