FAA to allow small drones to fly over people and to fly at night

December 29, 2020

The FAA is about to finalize its rules allowing small drones to fly over people and to fly at night, here is more:

The FAA said its long-awaited rules for the drones, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles, will address security concerns by requiring remote identification technology in most cases to enable their identification from the ground.

There are other, more complicated rules that allow for operations at night and over people for larger drones in some cases.

“The new rules make way for the further integration of drones into our airspace by addressing safety and security concerns,” FAA Administrator Steve Dickson said. “They get us closer to the day when we will more routinely see drone operations such as the delivery of packages.”

For at-night operations, the FAA said drones must be equipped with anti-collision lights. The final rules allow operations over moving vehicles in some circumstances.

We are supposed to feel better because we are being told we will be able to identify the drones from the ground but this has nothing to do with allowing Amazon to deliver packages via drone. The ultimate goal is to monitor our every move and that is just the excuse being used by the State to condition people to the idea that there will constantly be drones in the skies above us so that we do not question what is going on over our heads.

Correct. This is all about surveillance.. There will be some interesting case law coming from contests over your personal airspace over your real property and whether or not someone or some agency can hover a drone outside of your bedroom window or workshop. And then there are those of us who are tired of paying 12 bucks a round for skeet and sporting clays…………….Pull!

Look up the surveillance drone that San Diego wanted to use. Cruising a mile up, you will never see or hear it, but it’s cameras can see every detail of what you are doing.

Smaller drones can also carry high resolution cameras.

It’s pretty scary, for all we could know they are already doing this. I think it was in California where they were going to use drones to enforce mask regulations.

They are already using it for monitoring real estate – checking on any improvements that have not been approved by the township or need re-appraisal for tax purposes.
