Spiteful Bill de Blasio closes outdoor skating rinks to punish Donald Trump
There is already not a lot to do in New York because of the State’s draconian COVID-19 lockdown orders, but like most States outdoor activities are still allowed with some restrictions. So if you are in New York and you are looking to pass the time doing something besides working or if you are a young person looking for wholesome activities to help you stay out of trouble you have few options, and those options are about to get fewer because Bill de Blasio is trying to punish Donald Trump.
Apparently Donald Trump owns a couple of outdoor skating rinks in New York and according to this story Mayor Bill de Blasio is shutting them down because of who owns them, not for any concern over public safety. Here is more:
Skaters arriving at Central Park’s two ice rinks are in for a cold awakening next week — the rinks, which are both managed by the Trump Organization, are being shuttered by City Hall to punish the former president for the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol riot, The Post has learned.
The rink contracts had been set to expire in April, but Mayor de Blasio has moved to ice Trump out a month early, effective Feb. 26.
The Trump Organization is closing its doors after close of business on Sunday, so it will have time to pack up its belongings — including some 1,700 pairs
“Trump has been impeached from operating the ice rink,” a de Blasio spokesman had said Jan. 31 in announcing the concession terminations for Wollman Rink, along with Lasker Rink, the Central Park Carousel and Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point in the Bronx.
If you think that maybe the article is making a political point out of this and that maybe the reason for the ice rink shutdown has nothing to do with the owner then read that last paragraph again. Bill de Blasio thinks he is being witty and clever by saying he has impeached a Donald Trump business venture but the only ones being hurt by his vendetta are the children liberals pretend to care so much about. But to paraphrase a famous Obama-era official, you have to break some eggs to make an omelet…

It’s presumably safe to surmise DJT will be held responsible for the shuttered rinks. Most New Yorkers put to work their selective memory and forget the city was unable for 14 years to repair and renovate the shutdown Wollman Rink. After volunteering to do the job Trump went in and had it up and running in a month or two long before he was POTUS. New Yorkers are getting what they pay for as with losing the Amazon facility along with its 25,000 jobs. Forget NY, forget NYers.

These power mongering legislators need to go. To think they have become so arrogant, blatantly wiedling their power for personal vendettas and essentially punishing the public, well, it’s all totally out of control. Now, that sounds impeachable to me. To see marvelous cities like NY and SF be destroyed so quicky through radical left policy is disgusting beyond belief….yet sadly, also the forecast of what Biden/Harris will do to this country. The public needs to speak up and get rid of these criminals. Certainly, we shouldn’t be paying their salaries to serve themselves.

Yes, it is time for people like this to go. There is an effort underfoot to recall Cuomo, I am sure it is a longshot and I worry the people are too concerned about keeping all the freebies coming in to do anything about it.

What is really on display is that all of the posturing and noise we hear from politicians has nothing to do with the people, ever. it is about their power and their control. Trump threatened the status quo and exposed a lot of the problems that life time politicians cause in our nation and therefore must be not only ostracized and driven from office but also punished for having the temerity to dare compete in their exclusive arena of control.
Sadly, no one will even publicize this because like all politicians who seek lifetime employment, the media has likewise been co-opted and no longer serves its function as watchdog for the people. The media is as deeply corrupted as the political process is.
