Cuomo aides rewrote initial report to coverup COVID-19 nursing home deaths

March 5, 2021

Things are going from bad to worse for the embattled Governor of New York and I am not even talking about the sex abuse accusations. Of course I am referring to his disastrous and deadly COVID-19 nursing home edict which led to the deaths of thousands of New York’s elderly population.

Previously we learned that a report by New York’s Attorney General found that Andrew Cuomo undercounted theCOVID-19 nursing home deaths by more than 50% and also that he hid the deaths in order to avoid a Federal investigation. Now we are learning how far the Cuomo administration went to hide the deaths, according to this story one of his aides rewrote the original report in order to coverup how many elderly people were dying as a result of Andrew Cuomo’s incompetency. Here is more:

Top aides to Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo were alarmed: A report written by state health officials had just landed, and it included a count of how many nursing home residents in New York had died in the pandemic.

The number — more than 9,000 by that point in June — was not public, and the governor’s most senior aides wanted to keep it that way. They rewrote the report to take it out, according to interviews and documents reviewed by The New York Times.

The extraordinary intervention, which came just as Mr. Cuomo was starting to write a book on his pandemic achievements, was the earliest act yet known in what critics have called a months long effort by the governor and his aides to obscure the full scope of nursing home deaths.

After the state attorney general revealed earlier this year that thousands of deaths of nursing home residents had been undercounted, Mr. Cuomo finally released the complete data, saying he had withheld it out of concern that the Trump administration might pursue a politically motivated inquiry into the state’s handling of the outbreak in nursing homes.

But Mr. Cuomo and his aides actually began concealing the numbers months earlier

Notice the timing of the beginning of the coverup? Andrew Cuomo was just beginning to write his book touting his leadership during the COVID-19 outbreak, and incidentally showing how much better he handled the crisis than did Donald Trump, and this news would have devastated book sales and possibly even lost him the book deal. So instead of releasing the report and learning from it so that New York could have prevented more loss of life Andrew Cuomo decided to hide it so that he could sell more books. You have to have priorities I guess…

You know things are not going your way when you would rather have the media focus on allegations of sexual abuse against you than on something else…

So, we are all supposed to be surprised when folks who practice fear and loathing as a political philosophy are actually found to be guilty of practicing fear and loathing in policy. Modern progressives do not cherish life. They simply use lives as a path to power. So when they treat life with contempt and treat the living like a commodity we are supposed to be shocked. This is the same guy who celebrated the murder of viable babies. Celebrated. When one loses all sense of loss for the dead and dying the term morally dead is a kind way of describing the black tar of hell filling the God shaped hole in the heart. That is the choice New Yorkers made in choosing their champion. The key to living a happy life is choosing well. They failed in that critical task.

You nailed it again! Ironically they are the ones who claim to be for the people, the broken and the poor, but as you said they just see them as pawns in the game and sometimes you have to sacrifice the pawns.

1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has rejected you as king.”

Actually I credit a really fine Navy chaplain, a Conservative Jew who guided me in a bible study many decades ago. He brought me to the message of Samuel during very troubled times.

The need for tar, feathers and rail for politicians like Cuomo and Tommy Walz increases daily. This whole Chinese flu disaster has brought the true colors of the left out. It has also pointed out how many Republicans are pointless, self serving asswipes.
