Biden administration to monitor personal texts for COVID-19 related misinformation
Yesterday Politico published this article in defense of Joe Biden’s proposed plan to send people door-to-door urging Americans to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Oddly enough, this defense centered around a game of semantics; according to the article this plan is okay because it is not government officials who will be going door-to-door but rather people hired by the government.
As troubling as the plan is, and as troubling as this defense of the plan is, it is not the most troubling aspect of the story. Buried in paragraph seven is this little gem:
Biden allied groups, including the Democratic National Committee, are also planning to engage fact-checkers more aggressively and work with SMS carriers to dispel misinformation about vaccines that is sent over social media and text messages.
As if it were not bad enough that the Biden Gestapo will be going door-to-door looking for people’s papers, and if it were not bad enough that Facebook is monitoring posts for COVID-19 related stories and memes, the government is now preparing to monitor personal text messages between individuals, looking for keywords I would imagine, so they can hassle Americans via texts. And you though the robocalls were bad…

Possibly in regard to the current admin. nonsense around the shot…just wanted to forewarn you that I’m all of a sudden having issues with my WP site…automatically deleting paragraphs, throwing in old paragraphs to a new post…incorrectly timing edits. I’ve been round and round with chat but of little use. Just want you to be on the lookout as the world is too weird anymore.

Thanks for the warning, I hope you get it sorted out soon! I haven’t had any major issues like that but sometimes WP does get a little wonky. Every time it does I think to myself they are trying to make it hard on me so I give up. It does make you wonder…

Yes, it definitely makes one wonder because so much is so unbelievably weird right now…I don’t know if any overstepping would surprise me anymore. 😮

It wouldn’t surprise me! Instead of outright banning people perhaps they just make it more difficult on certain people at certain times hoping to drive them away on their own.

Thanks for responding, Steve. FYI, a few other “like-minded” bloggers told me they have also been having issues on WP lately. For whatever reason, I cannot “like” comments on your blog but it will allow me to give a thumbs up. Also, yours is one of the few blogs that continually asks me to sign-in. Being non-tech, I have no idea…
