Joe Biden resumes fast-track deportation flights

There seems to be two simultaneous illegal immigration battles being fought in the country. The first is the public battle being fought between the two sides in the media, and the second is what is going on behind the scenes that Joe Biden would rather keep behind the scenes so as not to alienate (pardon the pun) Democratic voters.

Despite his campaign promises and rhetoric, and despite much of the coverage in the mainstream media, Joe Biden’s immigration policies have been closer to Donald Trump’s than he, the Democrats with a few exceptions, and the media would care to admit.

Do not get me wrong, I am not trying to say Joe Biden is anywhere as close to being as tough on immigration as Donald Trump was, however he has quietly either kept or reinstated some of the Trump administration’s policies. The President actually expanded the much maligned “kids in cages” program, is still implementing what we were told was the inhuman and heartless policy of separating families at the border, and at one point was considering keeping the refugee cap at Trump administration levels. All of this was ignored by the media…

Now we are getting word that Joe Biden is resuming fast-track deportation flights so he can get some illegal immigrants out of the country as fast as possible. Here is more:

The Biden administration on Friday resumed fast-track deportation flights to Central America following another spike in families crossing the border into the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.

The administration announced plans to resume the expedited removals on Monday, responding to building pressure on the White House to increase enforcement at the Southern border as the Covid Delta variant spreads in Texas and across the U.S.

“Families apprehended by Customs and Border Protection were removed via U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Air Operations to their home countries of Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras,” a statement from the Department of Homeland Security said. “The expedited removal process is a lawful means to securely manage our border, and it is a step toward our broader aim to realize safe and orderly immigration processing.”

The Biden administration has continued to use the public health order, known as Title 42, which was invoked by former President Donald Trump at the start of the pandemic to expel migrants without allowing them to seek asylum.

There is always the chance that this article was written as a way to make Joe Biden appear to be tougher on illegal immigration than he really is in order to maybe win over some votes from right-leaning people, however I do not think that is the case.

I think it is more likely that Joe Biden (actually, the person who is really in charge) understands he has a real problem on his hands at the southern border but does not want to admit his policies have failed, or admit the left was wrong on this issue. So these policies are being put into motion under the radar and without media scrutiny so that Joe Biden will not seem to be the nativist, xenophobic, racist the left claimed that Donald Trump was for implementing the same policy.
