New Hampshire Republican gubernatorial candidate once called the Tea Party ‘teabaggers’
Walt Havenstein is a Republican who is running in the New Hampshire gubernatorial primary to become the party’s nominee to take on Governor Hassan in the November election.
There was some question about his eligibility to run in the state because–much like the carpetbagging Scott Brown–he was not really living in the state, but on a narrow vote of 3-2 the Ballot Law Commission decided he met the criteria as an “inhabitant” of the state.
With that issue behind him comes another problem because a video of Mr. Havenstein from four years ago, while he was the CEO of a business, has surfaced which shows him openly mocking the Tea Party while calling them ‘teabaggers.’

“And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.”
Those were more than just words, for when the founders affixed their names under those words they did exactly what those words said; they pledged their lives, fortunes, and honor towards the founding of a new nation and a cause that they believed so firmly in that they were willing to die for it.
Independence was officially approved on July 2nd but it wasn’t until July 4th that the final version of the Declaration was voted on and passed with these famous words: “We, therefore, the representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of the good people of these colonies, solemnly publish and declare, that these united colonies are, and of right ought to be free and independent states; that they are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the state of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as free and independent states, they have full power to levey war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent states may of right do.”
But independence was not yet won.
There would be many years of conflict to follow, there would be more defeats than victories before the war ended, but in the end victory was achieved and a new nation was born.
The war had been raging on for over a year when the Declaration was signed, but up until July 4th 1776 America was in a war which was being fought to reestablish her natural born rights as Englishmen, it was not a war for independence. This document changed that and henceforth this was a war of separation.
While people such as Samuel Adams were clamoring for independence, and while George Washington secretly hoped that America would declare its independence as he was leading the Continental Army against the British, it was a pamphlet called “Common Sense” which was written by Thomas Paine that finally convinced many of the founders and citizens of America that independence was not only justifiable, but was also proper.
Thomas Paine was the first person to actually set down in words the reasoning for American independence, and why it was a noble and worthy cause; and he is credited as the first person to actually brand this nation the “United States of America.”
When the founders signed this document they became traitors to the Crown and if captured they would have been hanged as such– losing all three pledges they had sworn to each other. They all understood this and were willing to pay the price as Benjamin Franklin famously quipped, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”
While they never had to pay the ultimate price for the freedom they have given us–an estimated 25,000 men did, fighting for the cause they believed in–many of them did end up bankrupt or near bankrupt and in debt. So when they pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor there was no turning back. Many of them may have lost their fortunes, but they never lost their honor.
Now it was up to the Continental Army to deliver us the freedom the Declaration rightfully claimed belonged to Americans. The battle went on for many years and it wasn’t until October 19th in 1781 at Yorktown that General Lord Cornwallis surrendered his army to General Washington by sending his second in command to surrender his sword instead of doing it himself as was considered proper in the day–a slight that George Washington was offended by and never forgave–that hostilities ended and a year later the Treaty of Paris was signed and independence was official.
But none of those events would have happened if it wasn’t for the Declaration that was signed on this day in 1776 and so today we celebrate the birth of the greatest nation in the history of the world. ”It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.”
I hope that everyone enjoys their Fourth of July. Let the fireworks and the grilling begin! Please take a little time during this Fourth of July holiday to think about the men and women who are serving this country today– as well as all of those in the past– who have dedicated their lives to ensure that the vision of our founders remains intact and that a ”government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

Today Howard Dean questioned the patriotism of the Republicans in the Congress who oppose Barack Obama’s agenda.
Here is part of what he had to say:
These are, really, people — I question their patriotism, really. I mean, we’re paying them to do something and they are doing nothing.”
I think you all know where I am about to go with this but here goes anyway: it wasn’t all that long ago when Hillary Clinton had the following to say about Republicans who questioned the patriotism of those Democrats who opposed the Bush regime’s agenda:
I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.
Funny how the Democrats mindset has changed, isn’t it? I will be waiting for Mrs. Clinton to condemn these remarks with the same vigor and enthusiasm which she displayed back in 2003…..
Earlier this week Rick Perry invited Barack Obama to visit the border so he could get a first-hand look at the havoc his policies are wreaking in the border state. (My words, not Rick Perry’s)
Today the White House responded with basically thanks but no thanks:
White House Press Sec. Josh Earnest said Wednesday that, to date, Obama does not have plans to visit the border.
“That’s the continued plan,” Earnest said when asked if Obama still has no plans to go to the border.
He did, however, leave the door open for a change in scheduling.
“[S]chedules sometimes change, and if they do we’ll let you know. But right now there is no plan to visit the border while he’s in Texas,” the new press secretary said
The White House did leave the door open but I am not holding my breath because the president has more important issues to deal with:
Oklahoma Representative denied access to illegal immigrant holding facility in his state
Many of the illegal immigrants which are currently streaming over the border are being flown and bused into different states where they are being processed and in some cases released into the community. A condition of release is they must appear at their deportation hearing, for whatever that promise might be worth.
One of the states where some of these illegal immigrants are being placed is Oklahoma so one House Representative from Oklahoma, Jim Bridenstine, decided to pay a visit to the holding facility in his state.
That seems reasonable enough in the wake of this crisis, after all he represents a portion of the state and should know what is going on in his state, but he was denied entry and told he could come back in three weeks.
Texas Democrat claims illegal immigrants are renting children in order to gain entry into the United States
Fueled by Barack Obama’s unwillingness to enforce the immigration laws of the United States there has been an influx of illegal immigrants coming across the border.
In many cases the people crossing the border are children without adults, and in other cases these are families trying to get to the United States and this is all driven by the hope amnesty will soon be granted.
The word is spreading in Central America that no family will be turned away by the United States and this has helped to deepen the crisis.
Border Patrol threatened with arrest if they talk about infectious diseases being carried by illegal immigrants
It is being reported in several different places that some of the illegal aliens who are flooding over the border since Barack Obama used Executive Orders to implement defacto amnesty and the DREAM Act are carrying infectious diseases.
Now, according to this story, some whistleblowers are coming forward with claims they have been threatened with arrest if they came forward with this issue.

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say.
In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp. They said taxpayers deserve to know about the contagious diseases and the risks the children pose to Americans. I have agreed to not to disclose their identities because they fear retaliation and prosecution.
“There were several of us who wanted to talk about the camps, but the agents made it clear we would be arrested,” a psychiatric counselor told me. “We were under orders not to say anything.”
The sources said workers were guarded by a security force from the Baptist Family & Children’s Services, which the Department of Health and Human Services hired to run the Lackland Camp.
The sources say security forces called themselves the “Brown Shirts.”
“It was a very submissive atmosphere,” the counselor said. “Once you stepped onto the grounds, you abided by their laws – the Brown Shirt laws.”
She said the workers were stripped of their cellphones and other communication devices. Anyone caught with a phone was immediately fired.
“Everyone was paranoid,” she said. “The children had more rights than the workers.”
She said children in the camp had measles, scabies, chicken pox and strep throat as well as mental and emotional issues.
“It was not a good atmosphere in terms of health,” she said. “I would be talking to children and lice would just be climbing down their hair.”
A former nurse at the camp told me she was horrified by what she saw.
“We have so many kids coming in that there was no way to control all of the sickness – all this stuff coming into the country,” she said. “We were very concerned at one point about strep going around the base.”
Both the counselor and the nurse said their superiors tried to cover up the extent of the illnesses.
“When they found out the kids had scabies, the charge nurse was adamant – ‘Don’t mention that. Don’t say scabies,’” the nurse recounted. “But everybody knew they had scabies. Some of the workers were very concerned about touching things and picking things up. They asked if they should be concerned, but they were told don’t worry about it.”
The nurse said the lice issue was epidemic – but everything was kept “hush-hush.”
Of course now that this story is out Barack Obama and the Democrats will use it to promote this as a humanitarian crisis while ignoring the fact they manufactured this crisis in the first place. They will say this is proof that these people need to stay here so they can get the care they so desperately need…..
I have only paid a small amount of attention to the GOP primary in Mississippi which culminated in a run off between Thad Cochran and Chris McDaniel that ended with the incumbent beating the Tea Party favorite, but this has to be one of the dirtiest and most despicable campaigns in recent history.
We saw somebody who was working on the McDaniel campaign sneak into the nursing home room of Thad Cochran’s wife and take pictures of her–what he intended to gain from this I cannot fathom–and one person arrested in connection with this has committed suicide, and then we had somebody working for the Cochran campaign (rumored to be tied to Haley Barbour) post a flier which called Chris McDaniel a racist and tied him to the KKK.
While there is no way to figure out what the whole nursing home stunt was about we do know what the flier was about; it was an attempt to persuade black Democratic voters to cross the line and vote for Thad Cochran in the primary. And it looks as though it was just enough to push him over the top.
Today Barack Obama promised a Summer of Executive action on immigration reform. How far will he go ad what will he actually implement? Well that is a question we do not have the answer to at this time. We do know that he stated it would include moving resources to the border.
I have no problem with that for this is where the resources should have been focused all along, but today Dick Durbin made a statement which insinuated Barack Obama may be planning actions which Dick Durbin knows the president does not have. This is what he said:
You may remember the hubbub in 2012 when NOAA declared that July of that year was the hottest month on record, but in case you do not here is more:
July 2012 became the hottest month on record in the U.S. during a summer that was declared “too hot to handle” by NASA scientists. That summer more than half the country was experiencing drought and wildfires had scorched more than 1.3 million acres of land, according to NASA.
According to NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center in 2012, the “average temperature for the contiguous U.S. during July was 77.6°F, 3.3°F above the 20th century average, marking the warmest July and all-time warmest month on record for the nation in a period of record that dates back to 1895.”
“The previous warmest July for the nation was July 1936, when the average U.S. temperature was 77.4°F,” NOAA said in 2012.
However, if this story is true, NOAA has reinstated July of 1936 as the hottest month on record. Here is more:
