There was an interesting exchange during an interview between Andrea Mitchell and Dianne Feinstein today; you can watch a part of the interview here.
During this exchange Andrea Mitchell states that the women in the Senate are united in doing something about the kidnapping of Nigerian schoolgirls by Boko Haram, but laments that the men who are in charge of the US government have been acting slowly. She then asked if it were not schoolgirls who were kidnapped if the men in the government would have acted more quickly. Dianne Feinstein interrupts her at this point and asks “you mean if schoolboys” were kidnapped. Andrea Mitchell then begins to backtrack and states she did not necessarily mean that scenario in particular, but rather any other scenario in general. Read more…
For all intents and purposes it appears as if Scott Brown is going to be the Republican nominee to run against Jeanne Shaheen in the race to become the next New Hampshire Senator. He has the money, the name recognition, the support of the establishment in Washington, and the support of many Republican leaders in New Hampshire.
These are tough odds to overcome if you are a lesser known candidate and there are two of them–Karen Testerman and Jim Rubens–that I have been urging New Hampshire voters to take a look at before voting for the carpetbagger.
New emails suggest Washington DC was involved in the IRS targeting of conservative groups
Much like we were told the Fast and Furious scandal was nothing more than the rash actions of a few rogue agents in the field we were also assured that the IRS targeting of conservative groups was limited to one IRS agency in Cincinnati.
However, newly released emails suggest that Washington DC was working in conjunction with the Cincinnati office to target the opposition. Oh, and Congressional Democrats may have been involved as well.

Judicial Watch today released a new batch of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) documents revealing that its handling of Tea Party applications was directed out of the agency’s headquarters in Washington, DC. The documents also show extensive pressure on the IRS by Senator Carl Levin (D-MI) to shut down conservative-leaning tax-exempt organizations. The IRS’ emails by Lois Lerner detail her misleading explanations to investigators about the targeting of Tea Party organizations.
One key email string from July 2012 confirms that IRS Tea Party scrutiny was directed from Washington, DC. On July 6, 2010, Holly Paz (the former Director of the IRS Rulings and Agreements Division and current Manager of Exempt Organizations Guidance) asks IRS lawyer Steven Grodnitzky “to let Cindy and Sharon know how we have been handling Tea Party applications in the last few months.” Cindy Thomas is the former director of the IRS Exempt Organizations office in Cincinnati and Sharon Camarillo was a Senior Manager in their Los Angeles office. Grodnitzky, a top lawyer in the Exempt Organization Technical unit (EOT) in Washington, DC, responds:
EOT is working the Tea party applications in coordination with Cincy. We are developing a few applications here in DC and providing copies of our development letters with the agent to use as examples in the development of their cases. Chip Hull [another lawyer in IRS headquarters] is working these cases in EOT and working with the agent in Cincy, so any communication should include him as well. Because the Tea party applications are the subject of an SCR [Sensitive Case Report], we cannot resolve any of the cases without coordinating with Rob.
IN COORDINATION WITH CINCY! This was not the rogue actions of a single office for it now appears as if this was a coordinated attack emanating from the IRS office in Washington DC. And it also appears as if Carl Levin was also applying pressure to the IRS to target these groups.
Here is what Judicial Watch had to say about these new revelations:
“These new documents show that officials in the IRS headquarters were responsible for the illegal delays of Tea Party applications,” stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “It is disturbing to see Lois Lerner mislead the IRS’ internal investigators about her office’s Tea Party targeting. These documents also confirm the unprecedented pressure from congressional Democrats to go after President Obama’s political opponents. The IRS scandal has now ensnared Congress.”
Barack Obama once quipped that there was not a “smidgen” of corruption in the IRS targeting scandal and you know what? He might just be right about this; there seems to be much, much more than just a smidgen of corruption in both the IRS and among some Congressional Democrats to influence the elections by marginalizing the role conservative groups would play in the elections.
It has been alleged that 40 veterans died while waiting for doctor appointments with the Phoenix VA because they were placed on a secret waiting list. Barack Obama ordered investigations into this burgeoning scandal and currently there are two investigations being conducted. However neither of these investigations is being help by the Department of Injustice and today Eric Holder stated he has no plans to investigate this matter.
Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday that the Department of Justice doesn’t have any plans to investigate allegations that veterans placed on secret waiting lists at VA hospitals died while waiting for care.
“Well, obviously these reports if they’re true are unacceptable, and the allegations are being taken very seriously by the administration. But I don’t have any announcements at this time with regard to anything that the Justice Department is doing,” Holder told reporters at a press conference.
“This is something on our radar screen at this point, but there is an investigation being done by the [VA] inspector general, and we’ll see what happens as a result of that inquiry and other information that comes to light in some form or fashion,” Holder added.
Antarctic ice caps continue to grow…..set new record
Back in December a group of climate scientists traveled to the Antarctic to get a first hand account of the melting ice caps only to end up getting stuck in the non-existent ice. This little setback did not deter them from still making the claim that global warming exist’s, and in fact they actually tried to claim that because there was ice where they did not think there would be that it was more proof of global warming.
Well, global warming must have ratcheted up a notch since that point in time because the Antarctic ice caps continue to grow according to this story. In fact the Antarctic ice caps have set a new record:
Antarctic sea ice coverage reached record levels for April, hitting 3.5 million square miles — the largest on record.
It was a cold summer down in Antarctica, with sea ice coverage growing about 43,500 square miles a day, according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSDC). April 2014 beats the previous sea-ice coverage record from April 2008 by a whopping 124,000 square miles.
But even with autumn in full swing in the South Pole, “record levels continue to be set in early May,” reports the NSDC. Sea ice levels have been “significantly above” satellite data averages for 16 consecutive months.
Scientists have determined that cow and sheep farts are a contributing factor in global warming. I wish I was making this up but sadly I am not, however there is some good news, I suppose, on the animal farting front as scientists have now determined that camel farts are not destroying the environment.

Environmental scientists have discovered one mammal that is not posing a threat to the planet by contributing to greenhouse gas emissions through flatulence – camels in Australia.
Entitled “Methane Emissions from Camelids,” referring to their biological family, the April 9 article ends speculation that camels are like cattle, sheep, and other animals that are said to be contributing to climate change through flatulence, or the passing of gas resulting from the food digestion process.
“Our results suggest that the methane emission of Australia’s feral camels corresponds only to 1 to 2% of the methane amount produced by the countries’ domestic ruminants and that calculations of greenhouse gas budgets of countries with large camelid populations based on equations developed for ruminants are generally overestimating the actual levels,” the abstract concludes.
“Therefore, when calculating GHG budgets, equations developed for ruminants are not applicable for the estimation of CH4 emissions from camelids,” the conclusion states.
Barack Obama has released hundreds of illegal aliens who were convicted of violent crimes
In his quest to grant defacto amnesty to illegal aliens Barack Obama has loosened the immigration laws on several occasions. As part of this new policy ICE and DHS have been allowing the release of what we were told were low risk offenders who really pose no threat to Americans, but if this report is true, that is not entirely true. In fact the Obama regime has released hundred of illegal immigrants who have been convicted of violent crimes.

New study shows Himalayan glaciers are not melting
Even as Barack Obama seeks to move on cap and trade unilaterally, and as John Podesta claims there is nothing the Congress can do to stop him, the arguments used to defend this action are falling apart. I have documented much of this here at America’s Watchtower and you can search the site to read what I have previously written if you are so inclined, but the latest example of the crumbling global warming argument comes from a new study which found the Himalayan glaciers are not melting after all.

Of the 2018 glaciers mapped and monitored for the survey, nearly 87 per cent were found to be stable while only 12 per cent were found to be in retreat. These real-world observations are in marked contrast to the predictions by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in its 2007 report that the Himalayan glaciers could disappear “by 2035.”
But it turns out the IPCC data used for this dire outlook was faulty and not from a reliable source:
Timothy Geithner has a new book coming out and in this book he had the following to say:
“I remember during one Roosevelt Room prep session before I appeared on the Sunday shows, I objected when Dan Pfeiffer wanted me to say Social Security didn’t contribute to the deficit. It wasn’t a main driver of our future deficits, but it did contribute. Pfeiffer said the line was a ‘dog whistle’ to the left, a phrase I had never heard before. He had to explain that the phrase was code to the Democratic base, signaling that we intended to protect Social Security.”
Basically, the White House wanted Timothy Geithner to downplay the role Social Security played in raising the deficit. While he admits Social Security does play a role it was not a major role, but it was still a factor in the deficit that the Obama regime wanted to downplay on the Sunday talk shows.
This sounds quite familiar, doesn’t it? It seems as though there is a pattern developing…..
