Grassroots effort begins to draft Ovide Lamontagne to run for governor of New Hampshire
As many of my regular readers may remember from the 2010 election cycle, I am a huge Ovide Lamontagne supporter. I endorsed Lamontagne while he was a longshot to beat the Republican “establishment” candidate–Kelly Ayotte–during the senate primary in New Hampshire. As the most conservative candidate in the field of senatorial candidates in 2010 Ovide Lamontagne–through a true grassroots campaign and with very little money–rose from relative obscurity to come within 1,600 votes of winning the Republican nomination.
After losing his primary bid Ovide Lamontagne showed his true character by dropping his bid and showing up at Kelly Ayotte’s victory party when most candidates would have asked for a recount, stating that the people are the sovereign and he would support the decision made by the people. Since that time Ovide Lamontagne has remained active in local politics and has set up a PAC to help elect Republicans in the 2012 election cycle, and he will be hosting many Republican presidential candidates in his home when the 2012 election campaigns begin.
There is now a grassroots effort to draft Ovide Lamontagne to run for governor in 2012 taking on the still popular Democrat Governor John Lynch. A new Facebook page has been created called “Draft Ovide for Governor 2012” with the goal of recruiting Ovide Lamontagne to run for governor.
Parent said that during their campaigns last year, “I had the opportunity to meet Ovide Lamontage and get to know him as a person. I really liked what he stood for and his core values. He’s very fundamentally-based, which I appreciate. I share the same values and convictions.”
Parent said that in talking to local activists, “There are many people who would like to see him run for office again, who think he would be a great governor.”
Parent said he came up with the idea six weeks ago, thinking, “Maybe if we can get enough people behind this, maybe he’ll see it. He has nothing go do with the Facebook page.”
Ovide Lamontagne remains committed to the presidential primary and in helping to elect conservative candidates to office and is unaffiliated with this movement. Hopefully enough support can be gathered through this effort–and hopefully many more as well as time runs on–to convince Ovide Lamontagne to run for governor. He will no longer have to worry about obscurity and name recognition by the time the 2012 election season is here and if the conservative movement continues to gain steam over the next year I think that he stands a very good chance to become our next governor.
If he decides to run he will have my full support and I hope that he starts to think seriously about this proposal in the next several months.

A microcosm of society: Garth Brooks simply doesn’t understand our system of government
Garth Brooks performed at a ceremony honoring the first President Bush, but before that performance he was asked whether or not he felt that Barack Obama has lived up to expectations.
Here is what he had to say:
Yeah, I think what President Obama is finding out is all that we want to do, the system kind of doesn’t allow the most powerful guy in the world to kind of do his job and I’m sure nobody’s more frustrated than him to complete those promises that he did and I think he’s trying his heart out. I love him to death and I fully support him and I just wish him well because it’s got to be hell in that office
He loves and supports Barack Obama, that’s fine but there is one part of that statement that I find very telling. He made the statement that the “system” does not allow the president to do his job. Now this I have a problem with because it shows a lack of understanding of the “system.” I happen to agree that the president is finding out the hard way that the “system” does not allow him to do everything that he wants to do; but I feel that is a good thing whereas it seems to me that Garth Brooks feels as if the “system” is flawed.
The judge that issued an injunction against the Wisconsin labor law should have recused herself
We all know the story of Scott Walker, the Wisconsin labor law, and the fleebaggers who left the state instead of facing defeat with dignity so I will not recap that issue here. Opponents of the labor law claim that this law violates the state constitution and a lawsuit against the new labor law is in the process of moving forward. Recently a Wisconsin judge– Maryann Sumi–issued an injunction against the law while the lawsuit remains unsettled. The law is on hold as of this moment.
But it now turns out that Judge Sumi probably should have recused herself from the lawsuit. Her son was a former AFL-CIO and SEIU employee and her husband has actually donated money to the campaigns of three of the fleebagging Democrats who left the state when it was apparent they were going to lose the debate.
Earlier today in an attempt to clarify the military action that the United States is now engaged in in Libya–and to make it clear that the United States is not at war with Libya–the Obama regime held a briefing with Congressional aides. It turns out that this clarifying briefing really didn’t clarify the situation all that much as one aide had the following to say once the briefing was over:

Candidate Obama: “the president does not have power under the constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack”
Before I get into the substance of this post let me first state that I support the removal of Gadhafi as dictator as Libya. I think that it is long overdue and should have been done years ago; this man has sponsored terrorism against United States citizens and is duplicitous in the murders of American citizens. My problem with this action in Libya stems from the fact that Barack Obama sought the permission of the United Nations instead of the United States Congress, and my posts on this issue have dealt with that position as well as the apparent hypocrisy of some on the left who support this “Bush Doctrine” type action when they opposed the invasion of Iraq for the reason I stated above, not with the issue of whether we should be doing what we are doing in Libya.
Back in 2007–while still a candidate for the presidency–Barack Obama was asked a question when it was feared that the United States was going to attack Iran. That question was this: Under what circumstances the president would have the constitutional authority to bomb Iran without first seeking authorization from Congress?

Liberal House Democrats question the constitutionality of the US missile strikes against Libya
Once it was learned that the United Nations had given the United States and our allies permission to set up and enforce a no-fly zone over Libya and that the president had agreed to give United States support to the effort I asked the question, “The United Nations has authorized military strikes against Libya, but has the United States Congress?”
In that post I asked the left if they supported this action even though this is exactly what they opposed during the Bush administration. When President Bush extended the war on terror into Iraq using the Bush Doctrine of preemptive warfare the left was up in arms because he did not go to the Congress to get approval for this action. This was the basis of a line of attack on the Bush Doctrine that still exists to this day from the leftists in this country–the Iraq war is an illegal, undeclared war.
Using this logic of the left wouldn’t this make these airstrikes on Libya an illegal war? And wasn’t this basically an admission from the current president that the former president was right all along, after all, he does appear to be following the Bush Doctrine.
After writing that post it became evident that there was a little bit of trouble possibly brewing between the president and the Congress because he did not seek their authorization before agreeing to attack Libya. Some House Democrats and Republicans alike are calling on the president to let them vote on authorizing the actions that are already taking place in Libya. They are not happy that America’s Nero decided it was more important to seek permission for these actions than it was to seek permission from the United States Congress.
And now we are seeing that the liberal wing of the Democrat party is very upset with the president for his airstrikes on Libya. They are questioning the constitutionality of these airstrikes and Dennis Kucinich is even questioning whether these airstrikes are an impeachable offense.
House Democrats want Barack Obama to seek Congressional approval for air strikes on Libya
The United Nations has given Barack Obama–as well as the rest of the allied coalition–permission to begin military actions against Muammar Gaddafi and the civil war taking place in Libya and earlier today the United States began the bombing of Libya. When it was learned that the United Nations approved military action against Libya I wrote a post titled “The United Nations has authorized military strikes on Libya, but has the United States Congress?” Of course this was a rhetorical question because the answer is well known to everybody.
Before I go any farther with this post let me state that in no way do I have a problem with the removal of this dictator from power, in fact it is long overdue and we should have taken him out years ago. Having said that, I have a problem with the fact that the United States has apparently become subservient to the will of the United Nations. America’s Nero sat around for five weeks waiting for the United Nations to make a decision on this issue because he was not willing to make one himself. The United Nations told the United States that it was time to do something about Gaddafi and Barack Obama followed along.
The United Nations has authorized military strikes on Libya, but has the United States Congress?
Yesterday the United Nations authorized military strikes on Libya; giving Barack Obama and the allied coalition permission to interfere in Libya’s civil war. Barack Obama has stated that the United States will not put troops on the ground in Libya, but admitted that the United States would play an active role in enforcing the (belated) no-fly zone.
Here is some of what Barack Obama had to say on this issue:

Two Democrat leaders indicted for “Tea Party” election fraud
Two ex-Democrat leaders–Michael McGuinness and Jason Bauer–have been indicted in a “Tea Party” election fraud scheme in Detroit in an attempt to help Democrats get elected to local offices in the state of Michigan. These two men allegedly registered third party “Tea Party” candidates and got those candidates placed on the ballot in an attempt to siphon votes away from the Republican candidates on the ballot.
While registering a third party candidate is not illegal, the manner in which they did so could cause these two men to be sentenced to 14 years in jail if they are found guilty. These men forged documents and put men on the ballot without their knowledge. These two men could have registered a third party candidate disguised as a Tea Party candidate legally–although doing so would have been immoral in itself–but they chose instead to indulge in the ultimate fraud, all because they were afraid Democrats were going to lose these seats if they did not resort to such drastic measures.
There is nothing more sacred to the very premise America was founded on than the idea that politicians will be subjected to the will of the people and should and will be held accountable to the people they represent. To undermine the process in such a devious way is the antithesis of what the American voting process is all about.
While most Americans hold the electoral process dear, we have already seen that Eric Holder–with his unwillingness to prosecute the Black Panthers for voter fraud even with video evidence–considers the outcome of elections more important than the integrity of the election process so I would not be at all surprised to learn that nothing ever comes from these charges.
If the American people cannot legally and lawfully hold those that are supposed to represent us accountable for their actions than America as we know her is lost. I consider these charges against these two Detroit Democrat leaders to be among the most serious that can be levied against a person who is trusted to uphold the electoral laws of the land and I hope that they are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The American people deserve it.
Hillary Clinton to step down as Secretary of State because America’s Nero fiddles as Rome burns
The Middle East is on fire, Japan has suffered an earthquake which could lead to a nuclear meltdown, gas prices are rising, the economy is still fragile, and America is in debt to China, and all the while Barack Obama is filling out his March Madness brackets and planning his next family vacation while aptly playing the part of Nero as Rome burns to the ground.
None of this has been lost on Hillary Clinton, who recently stated that she would not accept a second term as Secretary of State. The reason for which she is unwilling to stay on in the Obama regime as Secretary of State if Barack Obama wins a second term is now coming to light.
