President Obama to Adhere to Bush’s Policy on Afghan Prisoners
Today the Justice Department filed a briefing that they would continue President Bush’s policies for dealing with prisoners held in Afghanistan.
In a short legal filing, Justice Department lawyers said they planned to maintain the Bush administration’s claim that the roughly 600 prisoners held in Afghanistan have no right to contest their detention in the courts. “The Government adheres to its previously articulated position,” the attorneys said.
On matters of the war on terror President Obama seems to be deferring to President Bush’s policies, with the exception of GITMO (which I still feel he will not shut down), and that has to offend the anti-war crowd who expected him to end the war.

They also argued that the habeas petitions are barred by the Military Commissions Act of 2006, a law Obama vocally opposed.
President Obama opposed the law back then but he was only candidate Obama at that point, he would say anything to get elected. And he did, and was. By adhering to President Bush’s policies the president is doing the right thing, regardless of the promises he made during the campaign.
Sure this is yet another broken promise but this is the right call, and I believe that he never intended to do anything other than to carry on with President Bush’s policies in regards to the war. That is why he had so many different opinions during the campaign about ending the war, he always intended to continue Bush’s policies, he just couldn’t admit it.
How do you people who voted for Obama on the hope that he would end the war feel now? You must feel like you were duped.

Massachusetts to Raise Gas Tax by 19 Cents
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, who said that he opposed raising the state gas tax, has today announced that he would indeed raise the state gas tax by 19 cents to a total of 42.5 cents a gallon. Massachusetts will have the highest gas tax in the country. Congratulations are in order for the Massachusetts governor, he has made Massachusetts number one. YEAH!
Massachusetts residents should consider themselves lucky, he thought about raising it by 29 cents, so you caught a break because he cares do much about you. YEAH, again!
There is also talk about that chip that he plans on installing in the inspection stickers so that he can track how far Massachusetts residents drive so that he can tax them a per mile driven tax. that idea isn’t going away. The gas tax increase will be in addition to the per miles driven tax.

Let me see if I understand this. When gas prices were high, it was wrong for big oil to profit from gas sales, now that gas prices are low it is okay for big government to profit from gas sales.
Why is it okay for the government to make windfall profits on the backs of it’s constituents? I want an investigation.
Mandatory Seatbelt Law Inches Closer in New Hampshire
Last week the New Hampshire house passed it’s latest version of the mandatory seat-belt law. Once again this will be headed to the senate and if it passes it will be sent to the governor for his signature.
New Hampshire is the only state in the country which does not require an ADULT over the age of eighteen to wear a seat-belt. But that could soon change.
To be honest with you this law will not affect me one bit. I wear a seat-belt, but I wear it because I have chosen to wear it, I used my free will and decided that I would wear a seat-belt. That is what is at stake here. Free will. And liberty.
The mandatory seat-belt bill is much more important in regards to the way New Hampshire treats her ADULT citizens than the actual law itself. I think that everybody should wear seat-belts, it is common sense. But I do not think that the government should tell people that they should wear set-belts. I do not think that the government should be in the common sense business. And New Hampshire never was, until Governor John Lynch rode in on his horse to save us from our own stupidity.
New Hampshire used to actually treat adults as if they were adults but under Governor John Lynch we have become a nanny state government. We are becoming a state which believes that the government knows what is better for us than we do. New Hampshire is slipping into the parenthood type of governance that so many other states have succumbed to.
New Hampshire residents used to see themselves as strong, independent minded, free thinking individuals but we have become big government mammary sucking lemmings. And it is sad.
Wall Street Gives Obama an “F” on His First Month in Office
Before the election polls showed that candidate Obama was trusted more with the economy than was John McCain. Candidate Obama was able to blame the economy’s downturn on President Bush and he was also successful at linking John McCain and his policies to the former president.
John McCain was leading most of the polls, although they were close, until the economy took a turn for the worse. This is when Barack Obama took the lead in the polls and never looked back.
Considering that the main issue responsible for the election of Barack Obama was the economy I think it is time that we look at what the economy has done since his election and in particular since he signed the stimulus bill and announced his plans to bailout deadbeat mortgage holders.
Both of these plans were supposed to help steady the market and begin recovering the economy, but so far the exact opposite has happened. On the day that Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner gave his first public speech the stock market fell three hundred points and on the day that President Obama signed his welfare stimulus bill the stock market fell about two hundred and fifty points.
The Dow Jones is down 10% since the inaugural and Wall Street is very nervous about the plans that President Obama has either put in place or plans on putting in place. Considering that these plans were supposed to shore up weary investors and prop up the economy the early results are not good.
Wall Street has graded the president on his first month in office and his economic plan and so far they have given him an “F.”
It is too early for the stimulus to have had any real effect on the economy but Wall Street’s negativity shows us how the stimulus and the deadbeat mortgage bailout bills are expected to affect the economy.
As the economy continues to worsen President Obama is determined to spend his way out of this crisis and it appears to be backfiring. The more he looks to spend the more stocks drop.
It is my contention that as the election drew closer and Obama emerged as the likely winner that Wall Street began it’s sell off in anticipation of just the kind of legislation that President Obama has passed and is currently fighting for. Wall Street knew what was coming, even if the average American didn’t, and the sell off is not likely to stop any time soon.
President Obama claimed that action had to be taken immediately to avoid a catastrophe, the left claimed that we had to do something, that to do nothing would be irresponsible. According to the initial results we would have been better off doing nothing. President Obama’s plans could be the catastrophe he warned us about.
Transportation Secretary Considers a Federal Tax Per Miles Driven
Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood is considering a proposal to tax all American drivers for every mile they drive. When President Obama reached across the aisle and tabbed LaHood as his Transportation Secretary I am sure that he knew LaHood wouldn’t have a problem introducing new taxes. This is disheartening coming from a Republican.
We should look at the vehicular miles program where people are actually clocked on the number of miles that they traveled
He claims that the federal gas tax just isn’t enough to keep the roads and bridges repaired. I will guarantee you that this miles per driven tax will be in addition to the gas tax, we will not get a break.
But that isn’t even the extent of it, LaHood is also looking at the idea of putting up tolls across the nation.
Besides a VMT tax, more tolls for highways and bridges and more government partnerships with business to finance transportation projects are other funding options
LaHood is dead set against raising the gas tax because of the recession but he is not opposed to charging a fee to drivers for miles driven and he is not opposed to new tolls. What the hell does he think that a toll or a fee is?

Looking for new ways to tax us is looking outside the box to people in Dear Leader’s administration. Needless to say, this tax will hurt the middle class families the most. We are the ones who will be hit hardest and feel it the most if these new plans are implemented. The anointed one talks a good game with regards to the middle class and how much he cares about them but when you look at the stealth, hidden types of taxes that his administration proposes it is the middle class that Obama’s plans hurt the most.
It looks like we know where that extra thirteen dollars in tax breaks that we were going to receive from the stimulus plan is ultimately going to end up; right back in the government’s greedy little hands.
President Obama and his administration are sneaky, they score a small victory by coming through on a tiny middle class tax cut but then they slide in a tax that is designed to give the money back to them and more. That is how this administration is going to operate.
Many on the left get upset when you call people like Dear Leader a tax and spend liberal, but what do you call he and his administration so far? One trillion dollars in new spending, and now a proposed federal tax on how far all Americans drive, it is going to get very expensive to be a middle class American over the next four years. That is if there is a middle class after President Obama gets through with us.

Obama’s Latest Approval Rating (02/19/09)
President Obama took office with an approval rating of around 83%, Extremely high. On January 24th the first approval rating for Obama came out and we saw a fifteen point drop down to 68%, a very good number but a number that fell pretty quickly once he became president.
Since that first poll came out President Obama has not had an easy time of it, especially with all of the tax cheats and ethically challenged people he tried to nominate to his cabinet. Then came the stimulus welfare bill which is unpopular with the people. Now the newest approval rating poll is out and his slide downward continues.
According to the Gallup poll, which is the poll that I used back in January his approval rating has sunk to 62%. The Fox News poll and Rasmussen have his approval rating at 60% while the AP poll still has him at 67%. An average of just over 62%.
If the Fox News poll is thrown out because of a perceived bias his average rating rises to 63%. But using the same notion of bias I would offer that the AP poll should also be thrown out bringing his average rating down to 61%.
But this is all semantics, the bottom line is that President Obama’s approval rating continues to slide and while a rating of over 60% is still high it isn’t as high as it was on January 20th and it continues to fall.
Police Pull Driver Over Because He Displayed an Anti-Obama Sign
Police in Oklahoma pulled a driver over because he had the audacity (of hope) to display an anti-Obama sign in his car. The sign read ” Abort Obama Not The Unborn”, a clear reference to terminating Obama’s presidency. In other words, impeach Obama. The officer claimed that,the driver, Chip Harrison was condoning the assassination of President Obama.
Chip Harrison was even reported to the secret service and received a visit from them before he was finally cleared of any wrongdoing.
Harrison is now claiming that his first amendment rights were violated and they were. Such is life in America under the regime of Dear Leader. If you speak out against him, or display signs that portray Obama in a negative light you better be prepared to face harassment.
We need to look no further than the truth squads that Obama sent out to threaten television stations during the election to see how he feels about dissent.
President Obama to Regulate Carbon Dioxide
Now that President Obama has his trillion dollar welfare bill behind him and after he passes his mortgage bailout bill he is going to move on to his next screw the working people over project; regulating carbon dioxide.

Just what manufacturers need in a recession; higher costs. This man is so interested in pushing his far left agenda that he really doesn’t care about you or I. He doesn’t care about the effects this kind of regulation will have on the working class people of America. Those are the people that will feel the most pain from the rising costs of carbon dioxide regulations. It won’t be the lower or the higher classes who feel these regulations the most. It will be us, the people who get up every day, earn an honest living, provide for our families, come home, and do it all over again tomorrow. We are the ones about to get screwed again. So when you hear Obama claim that he cares about the working class of America just think about how every bill that he passes is hurting or will hurt middle class America.

What else needs to be said? Congress is about to tax and regulate the hell out of us with their green initiatives. With their laws and regulations, with their taxes and fees.
And then once they do that they are headed to the UN to hand out millions if not billions to the UN to help the poorer countries deal with this made up issue. This is all about global socialization, taking money from the rich countries and handing it over to the poorer ones. Once again, this hurts the average middle class family that President Obama claims he cares about.
We are on the verge of handing billions of dollars out to the United Nations in the interest of solving a problem that is soley designed to seperate you and I from our money and our freedoms. And Barack Obama is just the man to do it.
Alan Greenspan Backs Nationalizing the Banking Industry
We are slowly headed towards socialism. Actually, no we are not. We are quickly headed towards socialism. President Obama is heading full steam ahead into the socialist sea.
President Obama has talked about a temporary nationalization of the banks, an idea that seems to be gaining support with some Republicans making it impossible for the remaining members of congress to stop it from happening.
Today Alan Greenspan endorsed the idea of a temporary nationalization of the banks. It seems all but certain that this is going to happen as today President Obama unveiled his plan to help bailout the people who are not paying their bills. This will be done on the taxpayer’s dollar. This will be done on the backs of you and I, the hard working American suckers who believe in doing things the right way. This is a redistribution of wealth.
He will nationalize the banks, he will make it easier for judges to come in and rip up signed contracts between lenders and borrowers, and he also said that he would force the banks to keep interest rates low in order to ensure that people will be able to get affordable loans. That sounds good but there is only one way for Obama to dictate (and I use that word purposely) what the interest rates on loans can be, and that is if he, the government, owns them.
We are seeing the government extending it’s tentacles into private businesses and taking them over. From the automobiles to the banks this insidious practice is continuing and it won’t stop. Obama can claim that it is just a temporary takeover but come on, when has the government ever given back power that it has taken from the people?
This is a dangerous road that America is headed down. Our very core values, and our system of government is being usurped and there is nothing that we can do to stop it, we are powerless. And that is the way that President Obama likes it. All the better to subjugate you with Grandma.
