Obama to Cap Salaries of Executives in All United State Companies
Today President Obama said that he will cap the salaries of the executives who are running companies that receive federal bailout money. That is fine with me, if they are going to steal my money and give it to companies that they should just let fail than the least that Obama can do is limit how much the CEOs of these failed companies can earn. I actually agree with dear leader on this issue.
But there are rumblings out there that the Obama administration is looking to extend this salary cap into all American businesses. Now I have a problem. Now I have a major problem.
He said the compensation restrictions would apply to all financial institutions and might be extended to include all U.S. companies.
That statement was written about Barney Frank. Yes, the same Barney Frank whose policies got us into the mortgage crisis which led to the current recession. It also appears that the tax cheat Timothy Geithner who is now the Treasury Secretary also agrees with this communistic idea:
Mr. Geithner said he would consider “extending at least some of the TARP provisions and features of the $500,000 cap to U.S. companies generally.”
So why am I about to defend executives who make over $500,ooo a year, because this is still America and people are entitled to work hard and earn as much money as they can. Do I think that many of these executives are over payed? Yes.
But here is the deal, with the exception of the companies who are now accepting the TARP funds, these executives make their companies millions and millions of dollars. This entitles them to earn a substantial amount of money. The more money that a person makes for his company, the more the person should make. I believe that a person is worth whatever a company is willing to pay him/her. Again, this line of thinking is discarded once a company accepts federal bailout money.
The government has no business interfering in a private business and dictating what that business can and can’t pay their employees. This is government intrusion of the worst kind. This is socialism.
Why should it or will it stop there?
Oprah Winfrey makes her television station millions of dollars, she is entitled to whatever the station feels she is worth. Rush Limbaugh, dittos. ARod, Derek Jeter, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Kobe, LeBron, and all of the Hollywood actors/actresses, these people are all entitled to whatever they can make. As a matter of fact these people make much more than any executive of any company yet they are not under the same scrutiny as these CEOs, at least not yet. These people are not as important as the executives of big companies, yet the government isn’t going after them.
My point is that any person is worth whatever any company is willing to pay them, it is not up to the government to decide how much any person should make. Are people overpaid in this country? Of course they are, but that doesn’t mean the government should step in and tell a company how much they can pay a person. A person’s salary should be between that person and the company.
When we were critical of Barack Obama and his “spreading the wealth around” comment this is what we were talking about. The acceptance by the American people of Barack Obama socialistic views.
President Obama and the Politics of Fear Part 3 (Energy Secretary Claims That California Agriculture Will End Because of Global Warming)
Twice I have written about President Obama using the politics of fear since he has been sworn in and this is the type of rhetoric that leads me to my belief that President Obama and his cabinet (those which haven’t had to resign) are nothing but fear mongers.
Below is what the current United States Energy Secretary had to say about global warming:
“I don’t think the American public has gripped in its gut what could happen,” he said. “We’re looking at a scenario where there’s no more agriculture in California.”
No more agriculture in California? But the fear mongering doesn’t stop there as civilization in California will cease to exist:
“I don’t actually see how they can keep their cities going”
This is another case of President Obama abandoning the politics of hope for fear-mongering tactics. These comments were not made by some ancillary politician such as Al Gore or enviro-nazi activist. This is what our new Energy Secretary said. Of course this man is not a climate scientist he is just spouting environmentalist propaganda designed to subjugate the American people through the guise of saving the planet.
These are the type of radicals that now permeate the Obama cabinet. If you think that we are about to take it on the chin (or somewhere else) with this economic pork barrel stimulus spending bill you haven’t seen anything yet.
Once the spending bill is passed it will be on to the global warming spending bill. There is no way in hell this country is going to be able to support all of the legislation that this president is about to ram down our throats. But his goal is to scare us into agreeing to spend this money.
We can’t fall for his bullshit on the economic spending bill and we can’t fall for the bullshit on this global warming fear mongering either.
President Obama and the Politics of Fear Part 2
President Obama is using what the left decried as “the politics of fear” when President Bush was in office. Well President Obama is practicing the same politics of fear, only instead of terrorism, which Obama doesn’t take serious, he is engaging in the politics of fear on another subject; the economy.
Gone are Obama’s promises of change, gone is his message of hope, and gone are the days when he claims that the seas will cease to rise once he is in office. All of these glorious, positive, inspiring, narcissistic views have been replaced with the dark, ugly, and hateful politics of fear.
And the reason that he has changed his message and is trying to scare the American people is insidious. All of this fear-mongering by the Obama administration about how this is the worst economy of our lifetime is disingenuous to say the least. Rahm Emanuel is on record as saying “never let a serious crisis go to waste, what I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before,” and Barack Obama seems to be taking his cue from his chief of staff.
President Obama is using the politics of fear to try to push his massive spending bill through congress before the American people have a chance to see what is in it. He claims that there will be a catastrophe if we do not give him what he wants and we don’t give it to him right now.
A failure to act, and act now, will turn crisis into a catastrophe and guarantee a longer recession, a less robust recovery, and a more uncertain future,
That does not sound like hope to me, it sounds like fear-mongering. America has been in recessions before, this isn’t the first or the worst one. Yet Obama is claiming that it is and why? Because he wants to spend, spend, spend. That’s why. We have been through recessions and the free market has readjusted and corrected itself but now with a radical far left Democrat in office we are led to believe that the only way to get out of this is for the government to spend its way out of this.
President Obama is using the politics of fear to get this spending bill passed quickly because he knows that every day that passes without his signature on this bill is another day that the details of this bill leak out to the American people. In just one week support for this bill went from 45% in favor of the bill to 45% opposed to the bill and the number is falling daily.
So Obama will try to scare the American people into pressuring their senators into supporting this bill but the bloom is off the rose. It is becoming clearer to more people every day that this bill is not about stimulating the economy but rather spending money that the country doesn’t have.
President Obama is using the politics of fear, he is an economic fear-monger. I ain’t scared, are you?
The great secret about President Obama’s stimulus bill is that it is not a stimulus bill. With only 12 cents on the dollar going to actual stimulating projects this bill is actually the biggest spending bill ever proposed in congress. And people wonder why Democrats are called tax and spend liberals. A close look at this bill is justification of that label.
One of the claims that then president-elect Obama claimed was that this stimulus bill would create 3 million jobs. This claim was later amended to the less aggressive claim that the bill would create or save 3 million jobs.
Now that has changed again because according to this article President Obama’s top economic adviser is admitting that there is “considerable uncertainty” in regards to any of Obama’s claims of job creation. And this is coming from the woman who created that number in the first place.
It should be understood that all of the estimates presented in this memo are subject to significant margins of error,” they said. “There is the obvious uncertainty that comes from modeling a hypothetical package rather than the final legislation passed by the Congress. But, there is the more fundamental uncertainty that comes with any estimate of the effects of a program. Our estimates of economic relationships and rules of thumb are derived from historical experience and so will not apply exactly in any given episode. Furthermore, the uncertainty is surely higher than normal now because the current recession is unusual both in its fundamental causes and its severity.
Let me sum up that statement for you.
President Obama had no real plan, that is evidenced by the phrase, “There is the obvious uncertainty that comes from modeling a hypothetical package”, he has to wait to see what congress sends him. There is a huge margin of error calculated into the number of jobs that would be created even though the administration promoted these numbers as facts, so in other words, either President Obama, or more likely Christina Romer, pulled these numbers out of his/her ass.
I think they can put these numbers right back where they came from.
Today was President Obama’s worst day politically since he was sworn in. He had two cabinet nominees remove their names from consideration from the posts that they were nominated for.
President Obama could have faced the media and explained himself and his incompetent cabinet picks. He could have faced the media and talked about how it was time to move forward. He could have spun this disaster into a positive by claiming that the fact that these two criminals had to resign from his cabinet was proof that he will have the most open and honest cabinet in recent memory.
But he didn’t.
Instead, when the chips were down and he was facing the prospects of negative press, what did he do? He hid behind “the children” by sneaking out of the White House and going to a school to face softball questions. The kind of questions he got used to on the campaign trail. Instead of facing the scrutiny of the media he faced the scrutiny of seven year olds.
With little notice, the president and first lady Michelle Obama bolted the gated compound of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in their tank of a limousine on Tuesday. They ended up at a Washington public school, greeted by children who could not care less about the collapse of a Cabinet secretary nomination
We have already seen Obama grow tired of the media scrutiny and that was before they had even asked him a tough question. Today he knew the questions would be tough so he didn’t even stick around.
This is a comment that he made to the children:
“We were just tired of being in the White House,” the president candidly told the gleeful second-graders at Capital City Public Charter School.
Tired of being in the White House? After a week and a half? It just so happens that he decided he was tired of the White House on the same day that his cabinet was falling apart. While his press secretary was being grilled about Obama’s corrupt cabinet the president was taking questions from seven year olds about who his favorite superhero is.
The president is spinning this dodge of the media as though he is just trying to stay connected, as trying to not get caught up in the White House bubble but that is not what this was. This was an attempt by Obama not to get caught up in the media frenzy.
On President Obama’s worst day he was nowhere to be found.
Massachusetts Wants Residents to Pay Sales Tax…For Purchases in Tax Free New Hampshire
Massachusetts, like many other states, is in a financial crisis. But Governor Patrick has come up with a scheme to fleece Massachusetts taxpayers a little more. He is trying to demand that a store in New Hampshire charge Massachusetts residents the Massachusetts sales tax. This is just going too damn far.
Currently this is being attempted on just one business, the Town Fair Tire Centers, but if this is allowed to happen it will not end there.
Massachusetts has ordered a tire chain to charge Bay State residents a 5 percent sales tax on their purchases in New Hampshire in an unprecedented move that could have huge implications for consumers and other merchants.
Governor Patrick is desperate to raise more revenue to pay for his outlandish spending and he doesn’t like his subjects traveling over the border where they can get a better deal. In tough economic times you would think that a sensitive liberal like Deval Patrick would be happy that his subjects could save 5% on goods and services. But Deval Patrick has dollar signs in his eyes and he has found a way to fuck over Massachusetts residents once more. Or at least he thinks he has, this is being challenged in the courts.
Town Fair Tire Centers, which is based in Connecticut but has six shops in New Hampshire and 25 in Massachusetts, is fighting back with a lawsuit now before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court that accuses the state of violating the US commerce clause.
Of course the Massachusetts courts don’t give a damn about the state constitution never-mind the United States constitution so the likelihood of this communist getting his way is very likely. Massachusetts wants to stop people from buying products out of state and there is a little known tax that Massachusetts residents are supposed to pay that the governor is trying to use to stop what they consider the deplorable behavior of shopping in New Hampshire.
The use tax is designed to take away an incentive for the buyer to go out of state and not pay the taxes
The problem is that this tax is not enforceable so the Massachusetts governor is going after out of state businesses. Here is a little idea, if you want to stop people from going out of state to make purchases lower your sales tax. Once the difference is negligible and it isn’t worth it for people to travel to New Hampshire, the sales will increase in the state and you will probably raise more tax revenue.
It is time for New Hampshire Governor John Lynch to grow a backbone for once and tell Deval Patrick to go to hell and stop meddling in our state. Deval Patrick and the whole liberal mindset in Massachusetts has driven too many people up here already and as recent elections have shown us they have changed the demographics here to the left.
A message to Deval Patrick; worry about your own state and leave us alone.
A message to John Lynch; show some stones for once and tell this man to go to hell.
I don’t know which is worse, Deval Patrick sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong, or John Lynch letting him.
Strike Three: Third Obama Cabinet Nominee Has Tax Trouble
Don’t they say that the third time is a charm? Well not in this case. This time it was strike three, you’re out. Just hours before Tom Daschle was forced to resign amid tax fraud we learned that a third OBama appointee also has tax problems. Nancy Killefer forgot to pay unemployment compensation tax for people in her employ.
Wasn’t it Joe Biden who said that paying taxes was patriotic? Why are there so many non-patriotic, non taxpaying Democrats being nominated by Obama for cabinet positions? Did he even bother to vet these people?
If Obama is this careless with his cabinet picks how the hell can we trust his judgement on the very real issues that we face as a nation?
President Obama has shown us that he has incredibly bad judgement already and he hasn’t even had to make a tough choice yet. How is he going to respond to a crisis when it arises? And can we trust him to make the right call?
Tom Daschle Resigns Nomination in Disgrace
Today Tom Daschle has removed his name from consideration for the cabinet position of Health and Human Services because of his tax problems. Today Tom Daschle resigns in disgrace.
I am sick and tired of people like Timothy Geithner and Tom Daschle claiming that they just made a mistake. So what if it was an honest mistake? It doesn’t matter, the law is the law and ignorance of the law is not an excuse from the law. That is what I was always taught.
Both Timothy Geithner and Tom Daschle had no intention of ever paying their taxes until they were nominated for positions in President Obama’s crooked cabinet. And why should they have paid them? Evidently the IRS wasn’t pursuing them with the vigor that they would pursue you and I so they would have been foolish to pay the money they owed. Once these two scumbags were up for cabinet posts they decided to pay the back taxes and interest but neither had to pay fines or penalties that could have at least doubled the money they owed the IRS.
While Tom Daschle’s tax delinquency was much greater than Timothy Geithner’s at least he would have had no control over the people from whom he was hiding. Timothy Geithner will. Tom Daschle resigned in disgrace and Timothy Geithner should also resign. He never should have been confirmed.
The only thing that I find more disgraceful than Timothy Geithner and Tom Daschle is that either Barack Obamadid not vet these corrupt criminals or he was willing to over look the criminal activity. Either way President Obama has incredibly horrible judgement.
President Obama needs to learn that Washington DC is not Chicago. When Barack Obama promised to bring change to Washington little did 53% of the voters realize the change he was talking about was bringing corrupt Chicago politics to Washington.
Now that is change we can believe in?
President Obama’s Climate Czar is a Socialist

President Barack Obama’s new energy and environment coordinator, Carol Browner, former head of the Environmental Protection Agency under President Bill Clinton, was listed as a member of the Socialist International’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society on its Web site as of June 2008.
President Obama’s Climate Czar is a socialist. And the left thought we went overboard when we called Obama a socialist after his “spreading the wealth around” comment.
In January of this year Browner was still listed as a member but suddenly her name has disappeared.
As late as Jan. 5, 2009, the Web site socialistinternational.org listed Carol M. Browner as one of 15 members of the SI’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society, with photo and a brief bio. Today, however, that Commission page does not include Browner’s name or photo.
Don’t you find it strange that suddenly her name has disappeared from the website now that it has the potential of shedding the light on Barack Obama’s true socialistic leanings?

It really isn’t surprising because besides the fact that the president is a socialist the global warming movement is an attempt to socialize the world. One of the goals of the global warming hoax is to take money from rich, industrialized countries and to redistribute the wealth to poor countries.
It only makes sense then that Obama pick for climate czar should also be a socialist.
Chris Dodd to Refinance His Countrywide Mortgages
Chris Dodd received a sweetheart deal on his mortgages from Countrywide. Countrywide has come under fire for giving lawmakers special deals on their mortgages and Chris Dodd was one of those lawmakers
He has had these loans with Countrywide since 2003 and didn’t have a problem with receiving a break on his interest rates until the mortgage meltdown and the bad publicity that came with it. Now he is suddenly going to refinance the loans with another company.
Now that he was caught he is claiming that he was wrongly labeled as a friend of Angelo, (the name of the group of mortgages that got preferential treatment), and he is going to correct the problem.
Let me guess, this was just another Democrat honest mistake, right? It’s funny how they all see the light after the light has been shined on them.
