Barack Obama to add 600,000 Government Jobs
As can be read in this article Barack Obama has gone on record as saying that he wants to create 600,000 new government jobs. Naturally he didn’t come right out and say that, but the simple math shown in the above linked article shows us that that is his goal.
It has long been my belief that Democrats want as many people reliant on the federal government as possible in order to ensure a permanent voting base and what better way to accomplish that goal than by hiring more people to work for the government?
Just one question, who pays government employees?
The taxpayer.
President-elect Obama- the agent of change- has tabbed another Clinton insider,Leon Panetta, a man with basically no intelligence experience, as the next director of the CIA.
This appointment is already drawing fire from both sides of the aisle as it appears that the president-elect has made another cabinet blunder so closely following the embarrassment of the resignation of Bill Richardson as Obama’s commerce secretary.
Even pprominent Democrat Dianne Feinstein, who will be heading the Senate Intelligence Committee, is not pleased and may actually oppose the nomination.
I was not informed about the selection of Leon Panetta to be the CIA director,” Feinstein said. “My position has consistently been that I believe the agency is best served by having an intelligence professional in charge at this time
The incoming chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee isn’t the only Democrat to question Obama’s choice of an unqualified candidate to become head of the CIA.
Rockefeller “thinks very highly of Panetta,” the aide said. “But he’s puzzled by the selection. He has concerns because he has always believed that the director of CIA needs to be someone with significant operational intelligence experience, and someone outside the political realm
President-elect Obama has had a tough stretch lately between Rahm Emanuel’s involvement in the Blagojevich scandal, to Obama lying about Emanuel’s involvement, to Bill Richardson resigning in disgrace from Obama’s cabinet, to Obama’s lack of courage in at least making a statement on the Israel/Hamas conflict. And now he has tabbed an unqualified Clinton insider to head the CIA, drawing the ire of the woman who will head the Senate Intelligence Committee.
With all of the Clinton insiders who have been named to the agent of change’s cabinet one has to wonder if indeed a deal was struck between Obama and Clinton to stop Hillary from forcing the roll call vote at the convention in an attempt to steal the nomination.
It’s either that or he just has bad judgement and considering he ran on what he claimed was his good judgement he certainly isn’t showing us much in that category, is he?
EPA Eyes “Cow Tax” to Curb Global Warming
I hate to keep repeating myself, but anyone who thinks that global warming is anything other than a conduit to raising taxes and regulation to restrict freedoms needs to read this article about the EPA’s proposal to implement a cow tax to save the planet.
The EPA is proposing a tax on farmers for every cow, head of cattle, and pig under the Clean Air Act. It even includes requiring farmers who exceed a certain number of livestock to apply for a permit (for a nominal fee of course.)
The tax for dairy cows could be $175 per cow, and $87.50 per head of beef cattle. The tax on hogs would upwards of $20 per hog,” the release said. “Any operation with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle or 200 hogs would have to obtain permits
Just a stupid question here, but who do you think will end up paying for all of these taxes levied on the farmers? That would be the consumer.
With president-elect Barack Obama’s stance that he is willing to use the EPA to help save the planet from global warming there is a damn good chance that something this stupid could actually become law.
The new president has been on record as saying that he really supports regulating greenhouse gases out of the Clean Air Act,” Krause said to the Business & Media Institute. “So, we really have to keep an eye on it. Legislation would really be the only way to exempt it at this point – the cow tax.”
Global warming is being used as a means to regulate and restrict the people through more taxes, regulations, and fees. I know I keep repeating myself, but when I read stories like this one I just can’t help myself.
Around the years 1767-1768 John Dickinson, while writing to argue against the Townsend Acts, said that there was a difference between taxes aimed at raising revenue and taxes aimed at regulation. He wrote that while taxes aimed at raising revenue were not always welcomed that they were innocuous, but if taxes were designed to regulate the people they were illegitimate and insidious.
The warning was there over two-hundred years ago and now we are silently falling victim to these same illegitimate, insidious forms of taxation.
California Supreme Court to Decide Whether Illegal Aliens Are Eligible For In-State Tuition
According to this article the California supreme court is going to hear the case of Martinez v. Regents of University of California and render a decision on whether or not ILLEGAL ALIENS have the right to receive in-state tuition breaks to public colleges.

This is in direct violation of the federal law, enacted while Bill Clinton was president.
The 1996 federal Illegal Immigration Reform and Responsibility Act says, “an alien who is not lawfully present in the United States shall not be eligible on the basis of residence within a state (or political division) for any post secondary education benefit unless a citizen or national of the United States is eligible for such a benefit.” Further, the 1996 welfare reform law states that anyone in the country illegally is not eligible for state or local benefits, including higher education benefits.
And this is just the first shoe to drop, there are already nine other states with the same policy of fucking over American citizen students while bending over backwards to provide benefits to people who broke the law to enter the country.
California will set the precedent that these other states will follow and I am pretty sure I can guess the outcome of this case.
The fact that we have come to this point in America is really disheartening. When illegal aliens have more rights and benefits than United States citizens the battle is lost. The game is over. The fact that this even has to be tried in court is proof that the country is hopelessly adrift.
Obama Remains Silent About the Hamas/Israel Conflict Part 2
Barack Obama continues to remain silent on the Hamas/Israel war. His cabinet is hiding behind the catch phrase that there can only be one president at a time. Yet on every other issue he doesn’t seem to be concerned about there being one president at a time.
From his position on the economic stimulus plan to the bailout to the fearmongering tactics of claiming that unemployment will hit 10% if he doesn’t get his plan passed immediately he hasn’t been concerned that he isn’t yet the president.
But on an international incident with wide ranging implecations like the Hamas/Israel conflict he remains quiet.
The president-elect is closely monitoring global events, including the situation in Gaza,” his national security spokeswoman Brooke Anderson said in a statement after the ground assault got underway.
But she offered no further comment on the violence in Gaza and used a phrase repeated often by Obama and his aides: “There is one president at a time and we intend to respect that.”
The question remains, why is Barack Obama silent on an issue as important as this one? Does he not grasp or fully understand the enormity of it? Does he feel the issue is a political loser and is afraid to state a position? What is the reason?
He has already angered Hamas, which feels that Obama must be favoring Israel, with his non-statement.

Yet Israel probably decided it was time to defend themselves now, before Obama took office for their fear that Obama may abandon them. His projected policy makes that a possibility.

All that he has managed to do with his silence is anger Hamas and disenfranchise Israel.
Hillary Clinton Involved in a Possible Pay to Play Scheme?
President-elect Barack Obama’s unconstitutional pick for Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, may have been involved in her own little pay to play scheme while she was a carpet bagging senator from in New York.

A developer in New York state donated $100,000 to former President Bill Clinton’s foundation in November 2004, around the same time that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton helped secure millions of dollars in federal assistance for the businessman’s mall project.
But it doesn’t stop there:
Hillary Clinton helped enact legislation allowing the developer, Robert Congel, to use tax-exempt bonds to help finance the construction of the Destiny USA entertainment and shopping complex, an expansion of the Carousel Center in Syracuse.
She also helped secure a provision in a highway bill that set aside $5 million for Destiny USA roadway construction.
A spokesman for Hillary Clinton said there was no connection between the donation to her campaign and the appropriation of the funds. The spokesman said that Hillary Clinton supported the project “purely as part of her unwavering commitment to improving upstate New York’s struggling economy, and nothing more.”
What a crock, does anyone really take the Clinton’s seriously any more?
Harry Reid Defends his Unconstitutional Decision to Bar Roland Burris From the Senate
Harry Reid and other Democrats have threatened to bar Roland Burris, who was appointed to the senate by the corrupt Rod Blagojevich, from taking his seat on the senate floor. There is only one little problem with this idea- the constitution.
Article 1, Section 5 of the constitution gives each chamber of Congress the power to set the qualifications of its members. In the case of Illinois, the governor is allowed to replace a vacant senate seat. And there is also staredecisis on the issue of blocking a person from taking his senate seat as well under the case of Powell v. McCormack when it was ruled that the only way a person can be stopped from taking that seat is if the person does not meet the qualifications. Roland Burris does.
However those two facts haven’t deterred Harry Reid who claims he can do whatever he wants to do, constitution be damned. Harry Reid claims that he has legal authority to block Roland Burris from taking the seat that is rightfully his.
We determine who sits in the Senate. And the House (of Representatives) determines who sits in the House. So there’s clearly legal authority for us to do whatever we want to do. This goes back for generations
While under the constitution Harry Reid cannot stop Roland Burris from taking his seat there is a way for Burris to be removed from his seat under the same article of the constitution. He can be voted out by a 2/3 majority once he takes his seat. So yes, he can determine who sits in the senate but if he cares about the constitution and about stare decisis he will first let Roland Burris sit and then move to have him expelled.
I don’t think that the Democrats want anything to do with that so they are hoping that they can convince Roland Burris to quietly go away.
It is funny how when Chief Justice John Roberts went before the senate for his confirmation hearings that so much emphasis was put on stare decisis when it came to Roe vs. Wade but suddenly now stare decisis seems to mean so little to the same senate when it comes to Powell vs. McCormack.
San Francisco to Charge Drivers to Enter the City
As this article reports, San Francisco is looking to become the first city in America to charge drivers to enter the city. The idea behind this scheme is that by charging a toll to drivers entering the city it would be an incentive for more drivers to take public transportation, and therefor help with congestion in the city.
Personally I don’t think that putting up tolls at the entrances to the city are going to help with congestion but rather would contribute to congestion. I also don’t think that congestion relief is the goal here, raising tax revenue is.
These politicians are looking for more hidden and insidious ways to raise taxes on ordinary Americans who in this economy probably can’t afford it. And it is being done under the guise that it is good for the people, and the environment. What better way to raise taxes than to claim it is for the common good? Who can argue with that?
This is not about saving the environment and it is not about easing congestion in the city, it is about raising revenue, pure and simple.
Governor Bill Richardson Resigns From Barack Obama’s Cabinet

The controversy around president-elect Obama and his cabinet just keeps growing and growing. I first wrote about New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson’s, who was to be Barack Obama’s commerce secretary, legal problems here.
It seems as though political donors to Governor Richardson received rather handsome fees investment in Governor Richardson. In other words Governor Richardson was involved in pay to play politics much the same as Rod Blagojevich.
Today Governor Richardson withdrew his nomination for commerce secretary for president-elect Obama in what has to be an embarrassment to the president-elect.
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson on Sunday announced that he was withdrawing his nomination to be President-elect Barack Obama’s commerce secretary amid a grand jury investigation into how some of his political donors won a lucrative state contract.
Governor Richardson is trying to say that he is doing this because the economy is so bad that he doesn’t want to delay any action on such an important post.
I have concluded that the ongoing investigation also would have forced an untenable delay in the confirmation process,” Richardson said. “Given the gravity of the economic situation the nation is facing, I could not in good conscience ask the president-elect and his administration to delay for one day the important work that needs to be done
Isn’t that nice of him? He is doing it for the good of the country in bad economic times. President-elect Obama claims that this shows that Richardson is putting the country ahead of his own political aspirations.
It is a measure of his willingness to put the nation first that he has removed himself as a candidate for the Cabinet to avoid any delay in filling this important economic post at this critical time
What a bunch of bullshit. He is not putting country first by resigning a post from the Obama cabinet before he is indicted in a pay to play scheme, if he was thinking about country first he never would have been involved in this scheme in the first place. The facts are that a major donor to Bill Richardson was rewarded with a $1 million state contract. Coincidence? I think not. Just another shady association of Barack Obama’s.
President-elect Obama has had shady associations for many, many years. Some of us have tried to raise awareness about these associations only to be told that none of them mattered and to be branded as racists. But the truth is that who a person associates with does matter. You can judge a person by whom he palls around with, it is appropriate to question a person with questionable ties. And now we are finding out why.
Bill Richardson’s withdrawal is a black eye on Obama’s cabinet as well as his judgement. Judgement that in my opinion is suspect at best when it comes to his friends.
President Obama will come into power amidst more controversy and with more political baggage than any president in history, including the whole was-he-elected/selected-controversy of George W Bush.
State Governors Ask For One Trillion Dollar Bailout
Somebody please tell me where it stops. I am talking about this whole bailout fiasco. The states are now looking for $1 trillion in “aid” money from the federal government. Where does it stop? How the hell are we supposed to pay for it?
Governors of five U.S. states urged the federal government to provide $1 trillion in aid to the country’s 50 states to help pay for education, welfare and infrastructure as states struggle with steep budget deficits amid a deepening recession.
The states can call this money aid if they wish but it doesn’t change the fact that this is more bailout bullshit. The precedent has been set by President Bush that instead relying of free market economics and good business practices private institutions can rely on the big brother government to swoop in and save them from their mistakes.
This is no different here, in this case it is the state governments who have overspent and are now looking for a handout instead of doing what they should be doing and cutting back spending.
The Republican Governors Association sees this for what it is.
The proposal by the Democratic governors goes beyond things like ‘shovel-ready’ infrastructure projects and is essentially a bailout of these states’ general funds,” Nick Ayers, executive director of the Republican Governors Association, said in a statement.
He continues:
“Now is the time to focus on finding cost-effective ways to provide essential services without burdening future generations with ever greater debt.”
We simply cannot afford to keep rewarding bad behavior with “free” money. We can’t keep doing this. It is time for businesses and financial institutions, and yes GOVERNMENTS to bite the bullet and pay for their mistakes. It may be painful but it is the only way to ensure that these entities learn from their mistakes. What lesson will be learned from continued government bailouts? Simple, that the federal government will continue the bailouts. What incentive is their for companies and state government to change their ways if they are under the belief that big brother is there to pick them up once they fall?
Some lessons learned are hard lessons, but they are necessary lessons, this should be one of them.
It is time to stop using the “timeout” method of discipline with these entities and start using economic corporal punishment. It is time for the states to realize they can’t spend money that they don’t have. It is time for state governments to get back to fiscal responsibility. That has become a foreign concept in today’s America but we must get back to fiscal responsibility. NOW!
