President Bush to Stop Linking Al Qaeda to Muslims

May 7, 2008

What a bunch of bullshit this is. President Bush and other government officials are going to stop calling  al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations Islamic or Muslims. On top of that they are also going to stop using the terms  jihad and mujahedeen.

“There’ s a growing consensus [in the Bush administration] that we need to move away from that language,” said a former senior administration official who was involved until recently in policy debates on the issue.

The theory is that we are legitimizing them by calling them by name. The MUSLIM and ISLAMIST TERRORISTS don’t need us to call them what they are to feel legitimised. They feel legitimized by their interpretation of the Koran. What is so hard to understand about this?

“You have a large percentage of the world’ s population that subscribes to this religion,” the former official said. “Unintentionally alienating them is not a judicious move.”

How many times must it be said? We are not talking about everybody who subscribes to this religion as terrorists, we are talking about a small minority of this religion who are terrorists. So what are acceptable terms for these terrorists who shall remain nameless?

Instead, in two documents circulated last month by the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), the multiagency center charged with strategic coordination of the U.S. war on terror, officials are urged to use terms such as violent extremists, totalitarian and death cult to characterize al Qaeda and other terrorist groups.

Can you imagine if during WWII we stopped calling Nazis by their name so we wouldn’t legitimise them? Can you imagine not being able to use the word Komakazi because it would somehow legitimize them?

This is very dissapointing from President Bush. Caving in to this type of political correctness is unnesseccary and stupid. It will accomplsh nothing. Not calling them by their name will not make them go away. If we can’t even call the terrorists what they are than they have already won. They have beaten us from within. And if that is so then it is time to just end the war, come home, and wait. Wait for the end, because political correctness is going to bring an end to this country as we know it.

Note to Hillary Clinton: It’s Over

Hillary, it is over. You can’t overtake Barack Obama in pledged delegates, and you can’t catch him in the popular vote either. You can no longer make a claim to the super delegates that you are the candidate to beat John McCain in November. Even if you succeed in seating the Michigan and Florida delegates, thereby be rewarded for breaking your promise not to campaign in these states that broke you party’s rules you can’t catch up. Barack Obama followed the rules and kept his promise not to campaign in either state, yet you said one thing and did the opposite and now you want a reward for it?

Hillary, you never had a realistic chance at catching Barack, just the hopes of a backroom deal to steal the nomination away from him. You can no longer even steal it from him. You had a 20% lead in the polls in Indiana and only won by 2%, thereby ending any realistic chance at gathering enough super deleagtes to steal the nomination.

As I write this I am thinking of that scene in Pulp Fiction where Marcellus Wallace is bribing Butch to throw the fight. I think it sums up your chaces Hillary, and your situation. Here is the quote:

The thing is, Butch, right now you got ability. But painful as it may be, ability don’t last. And your days are just about over. Now that’s a hard motherfuckin’ fact of life, but that’s a fact of life your ass is gonna have to get realistic about. See, this business is filled to the brim with unrealistic motherfuckers. Motherfuckers who thought their ass would age like wine. If you mean it turns to vinegar, it does. If you mean it gets better with age, it don’t. Besides, Butch, how many fights do you think you got in you anyhow? Two? Boxers don’t have an Old Timers Place. You came close but you never made it. And if you were gonna make it, you would have made it before now.

So Hillary you gave it a hell of a try, you came close but you never made it just like Marcellus said. It is time to step aside, it is time to give Obama his due, it is time to end your campagn.

 Hillary Clinton, it is over.

California Super Delegate Wants $20 Million for His Vote

May 7, 2008

The Democrat’s life theory is catching up with them. They believe in the idea that there are no winners and losers, as in children’s sporting events where there is no score kept because if a child loses he will be scarred for life. Instead of teaching a child that sometimes things don’t go your way the child is sheltered from any adversity and when as an adult adversity hits they have no idea how to handle it. This mindset has crept into more aspects of everyday life. In some schools teachers aren’t allowed to grade in red because red is a very traumatising color, they are using the less daunting purple pen to grade children.

So you may be asking why I said that their life theory is catching up with them and I will now explain. It is this very theory of there can be no losers that has lead to the loser of a primary state still getting delegates. Sure a candidate was second winner, not a loser, so he/she deserves some delegate right? That is a perfect example of what this liberal mindset has produced.

But there is another aspect, a dark aspect, that the Democrats nomination process has created the possibility of. This problem lies in the super delegates. Party insiders who are going to decide the Democrat nominee. It can never be good when party hacks can decide who should be their candidate and this shows us why. It opens up the door for corruption, backroom deals, and big money to be thrown around.

Steven Ybarra, a Democrat super delegate from California, has not endorsed either candidate yet. And he isn’t going to either, until someone gives him $20 million for his endorsement. How is that for morals? This man doesn’t care about either candidates stance on any issues, he will sell his vote to whoever promises him $20 million first. He has promised that he can deliver over one million new Mexican-American voters for that $20 million bribe. All a candidate has to do is show the Mexicans how much he/she “cares” about them by delivering the bribe.

Money has corrupted politics, and the Democrat primary system is not helping the problem. It is making it worse. How can a candidate promise to bring change to Washington if they are willing to bribe a super delegate for a vote? How can a candidate promise a more open and honest administration if they are willing to bribe a super delegate for a vote? How can a candidate be trusted to be fiscally responsible if they are willing to bribe a supre delegate for a vote?

If a person is willing to do this for one vote, what will the same person do for many votes?

25% of Republicans Voted Against McCain in Indiana and North Carolina Primaries

May 6, 2008

I know it has flown under the radar, and for good reason, but the Republicans also held primaries in Indiana and North Carolina today. You would think that because John McCain is the Republican nominee he would gather at least 90% of all Republicans who bothered to vote in an already decided primary. That is not the case however.

Republican primary results from Indiana:

McCain 289,189  77%
Huckabee 37,898  10%
Paul 28,125  8%
Romney 17,794 5 %

Republican primary results from North Carolina:

McCain 318,600  74%
Huckabee 52,831  12%
Paul 31,460  7%
No Preference 16,684  4%
Keyes 11,169  3%

As you can see John McCain only averaged about 75% of the Republican vote in these two states. So what does this mean? Probably not much, it seems to me that Republicans are sending a message to the turncoat that they have their eyes on him. Leary Republicans just want John McCain to know that they are dissatisfied with him as the nominee and he better watch his step.

I would guess that most of these people will turn around and vote for McCain in the general election, other than the Ron Paul supporters who I would bet will vote for Ron Paul in the general even if they have to write him in. As of right now I have to admit I am considering writing in Ron Paul myself.

Conservatives are sending a message to John McCain but will he listen? I doubt it, after all where will these voters go if they don’t vote for McCain? He knows that they have to vote for him if they want to avoid a Clinton or Obama presidency so he will continue to shun conservatives as he tries to win moderates and independents.

John McCain has been shitting on conservatives for eight years, what’s another six months?

Al Gore Claims Global Warming is to Blame for Myanmar Cyclone

May 6, 2008

It was only a matter of time before we heard this from Al Gore. Al Gore is now claiming that global warming is responsible for the cyclone in Myanmar. Al Gore should be ashamed of himself for trying to politicize a tragedy like this cyclone for his own personal benefit. At least people are starting to realize Al Gore for who and what he is, as can be seen in the first paragraph of the above linked article.

Using tragedy to advance an agenda has been a strategy for many global warming activists, and it was just a matter of time before someone found a way to tie the recent Myanmar cyclone to global warming.

Former Vice President Al Gore in an interview on NPR’s May 6 “Fresh Air” broadcast did just that.

That is precisely what Al Gore is doing here, using a tragedy to push his agenda. An agenda that puts millions of dollars in his pocket by the way. Here is how he tried to spin a natural tragedy into a human caused event:

And as we’re talking today, Terry, the death count in Myanmar from the cyclone that hit there yesterday has been rising from 15,000 to way on up there to much higher numbers now being speculated,” Gore said. “And last year a catastrophic storm from last fall hit Bangladesh. The year before, the strongest cyclone in more than 50 years hit China – and we’re seeing consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with continued global warming.

Gore claimed global warming is forcing ocean temperatures to rise, which is causing storms, including cyclones and hurricanes, to intensify.

But ih his next breath he seemed to try to cover his tracks.

It’s also important to note that the emerging consensus among the climate scientists is although any individual storm can’t be linked singularly to global warming – we’ve always had hurricanes,” Gore said. “Nevertheless, the trend toward more Category 5 storms – the larger ones and trend toward stronger and more destructive storms appears to be linked to global warming and specifically to the impact of global warming on higher ocean temperatures in the top couple of hundred feet of the ocean, which drives convection energy and moisture into these storms and makes them more powerful.”

He is hedging his bets there. While he claims that this storm is linked to global warming, he is admitting that individual storms can’t be directly linked to global warming. He is sitting on both sides of the fence. You can’t have it both ways Al. He seems to be starting to back off because of more and more scientists who are voicing their global warming scepticism even as he is blaming global warming for the storm.

Cyclones are an act of nature, they are not a political issue. But Al Gore and other global warming alarmists are trying to turn this into a political issue for their own gain. It is time to wake up and stop this scam before we are  taxed to the gills on this bogus hoax.

The Clinton’s Refuse to Release Sandy Berger’s Stolen Documents

May 5, 2008

Back when the September 11th commission was investigating what led up to that fateful day Bill Clinton’s national security adviser, Sandy Burglar, I mean, Berger, stole documents from the national archives and hid them under a trailer. He said he “accidentally” slipped them into his pants and socks. It was an honest mistake. RRRIIIGGGHHHTTT!!!!! He was hiding documents that showed a clear link between Bill Clinton’s failure to take terrorism seriously and the attacks of September 11th.

You may remember, if you ever heard this story at all because the mainstream media downplayed it, that Mr. Burglar should have gone to jail for stealing classified documents, instead he received probation. He will gain his clearance pass back just in time for a Hillary Clinton presidency. In fact he is currently on Hillary’s campaign.

Now the Clinton Library is refusing to release which documents he stole from the archives. This really isn’t surprising, is it? Under the Freedoms of Information act, Cybercast News requested to see which documents Sandy  Berger took illegally. It has been denied.

The question still remains after all of these years. What are the Clinton’s hiding? (Besides the cigar.)

Sting’s Rain Forest Foundation Under Attack by Watchdog Group

May 5, 2008

One thing that bothers me is holier than thou rock stars and actors who feel that they need to tell us how to live our lives, who to vote for, and what charities we should donate to. When I go to a concert, I go to get away from every day life. It is an escape from politics for a couple of hours. When I go to a movie I want to be entertained, I don’t want to think about any actor’s political or charitable opinions. To me it sounds like these people are trying to justify the wealth and fame that they have received. It isn’t good enough to them to perform acts of charity, they need everone to KNOW that they performed these acts.

On top of the fact that U2’s songs suck to no end, there is the fact that Jesus, I mean Bono, feels the need to preach in between every song about how America doesn’t do enough to stop world hunger, it doesn’t matter that we spend billions a year on poverty and hunger around the world on. It isn’t enough.

These same stars tell us that we need to cut back on our oil and gas consumption even as they fly private jets all across the world.

Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with someone who wants to donate to charities, who wants to work toward the goals of ending world poverty or world hunger. They are good and noble causes. What I am saying is that when I go to a concert I don’t want to be preached to about it, if I want to I will donate to these causes. I am there for a good time. I donate to charities, but I don’t want to be hit over the head with it. I just have a problem when real life meets entertainment.

So many of these people are hypocrites, especially the global warming activists who live one life while telling us how to live another.

So it is with some  pleasure, I must admit, that I read this. Sting had started a charity to save the rain forests. The only problem is, most of the money doesn’t go to actually saving those rain forests he cares so much about.

“less than half the riches actually funded tree-saving programs, according to charity watchdogs and a Post review of tax records.

It’s one of the prime reasons the local arm of Sting’s Rainforest Foundation is rated one of New York City’s worst charities, according to Charity Navigator.”

According to Charity Navigator, a charity watchdog group, a well run charity donate 75% of revenues to the causes. Sting’s foundation donates about 41%. Sting could not be reached for comment. Surprising, huh? So where did the money go? That is a good question.

“What are they doing with the money?” said Bennett Weiner, the director of the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance, after examining the fund’s tax forms. “They have more than five times what they would normally spend in a year in reserves.”

But that may not be the end of Sting’s problems.

“The charity sold the tickets for between $100 and $600 but estimated the fair market value at a mere $45 per ticket. This allowed buyers to write off most of the ticket price as a donation.

“If the receipts are wrong, donors could face IRS audits,” said James Dellinger, an analyst for Capital Research, a watchdog group based in Washington.”

At worst, Sting’s foundation is nothing more that a scam, at best, a very poorly run and inefficient charity.  Either way, I don’t care. I just want them to leave me alone. I will donate to the charities that I want to, I don’t need celebrities telling me where I should donate my money. Just entertain me, that is what you are paid to do. Paid very well in fact.

More on New Hampshire’s Budget Deficit

May 5, 2008

Below is an editorial that appeared in today’s New Hampshire Union Leader in it’s entirety, it sums up Governor John Lynch’s budget policy perfectly:

CIGARETTE-SMOKING poker players beware. Gov. John Lynch has decided to balance the state budget on the backs of you sinners.

Facing a budget shortfall that grows by the week, Gov. Lynch surprised no one by proposing on Thursday to raise taxes on cigarette smokers and wine drinkers, and announcing his support for a hefty tax on poker players.

Instead of making possibly painful spending cuts, or spreading the tax-hike pain evenly and taking the heat for it, Lynch has yet again targeted small groups of people who engage in what might be termed morally questionable behavior €” smoking, drinking and gambling.

Lynch, the most popular guy in school, is sticking it to the unpopular kids. Which is one reason he became so well-liked in the first place. You don’t get popular by making a majority of people unhappy. You do it by giving most people what they want and making a small, politically powerless group pay for it.

That is how Gov. Lynch operates, we now know. We also know that the governor continues to assert that the state’s budget problem is the result of a drop in revenues even though state data show otherwise.

Total state revenues so far this fiscal year are about $40 million lower than projections. But they are $75.8 million higher than last year. The problem isn’t the revenue, it’s the budget, which contained unrealistic revenue projections €” just as many Republican leaders predicted last summer.

The obvious solution is to cut spending. But Gov. Lynch still insists, despite the numbers, that the state hasn’t enough revenue, so he is raising taxes. Again.

That editorial sums it up perfectly, and hits the nail on the head. Governor Lynch is in effect a bully who is picking on groups who have no political organization behind them. He is picking on the weaklings, so to speak. He doesn’t have the balls to do the right thing and cut spending because the organizations he would have to cut spending from have political clout. So it’s screw the “sinner” once again as John Lynch just walks on water.

The best point that this article makes is the fact that John Lynch is attempting to blame the national economy for his bloated budget problems. Yes the economy has slowed, but that is not the problem with New Hampshire’s budget. As the editorial states, New Hampshire revenues are up $76 million over last year because of all of John Lynch’s new taxes, yet New Hampshire has a deficit because Lynch bloated the revenue estimates that his new taxes would generate in order to justify his new spending.

New Hamshire doesn’t have a revenue problem, she has a spending problem.

New Hampshire Senator John Sununu a Possible VP Candidate

May 4, 2008

Cross posted on Grizzly Groundswell

New Hampshire senator John Sununu, who looks as though he is going to lose his re-election bid to Jeanne Shaheen as New Hampshire looks poised to turn a deeper shade of blue, it rumored to be one of the candidates for vice president that John McCain is looking at.

According to this article John Sununu and John McCain are good friends and the speculation is that Sununu’s friendship with McCain could lead to his being chosen as a running mate for John McCain.

John Sununu has voted in line with President Bush about 85% of the time which is about average for Republicans in the senate. However he now appears to be trying to distance himself from the president, probably in an effort to win re-election to the senate. His seat is considered one of the most vulnerable by national Democrats.

In the Senate, Sununu has voted about 85 percent of the time with the GOP in the current Congress, basically in line with his fellow Republicans’ voting patterns. Democrats are using that statistic against him in the race with former New Hampshire governor Jeanne Shaheen.

“His record doesn’t show really any independence whatsoever,” said Alex Reese, a spokesman for the New Hampshire Democratic Party. “That shows that he’s just kind of rolling over for George Bush.”

Sununu however, is trying to paint himself more along the lines of John McCain

“I found that I could learn a tremendous amount by watching the way (McCain) worked in the Senate,” Sununu said in an interview. “Whether you agree or disagree with him on a particular issue, he’s effective.”

I have had a few problems with Sununu over the years. He voted to give legal rights to detainees at GITMO, and he was among the first senators, Republican or Democrat, to call for the resignation of Alberto Gonzalez. Both of these issues do not sit well with me.

In my opinion John Sununu would not be a great choice by McCain for vice president for a couple of reasons.

One. I don’t think he has the name recognition nationally to draw in voters like myself who would need to see a very strong vice president nominee if McCain hopes to win back the conservatives he has shunned for the last eight years.

Two. I really think that he needs to nominate a governor for vice president. That goes for the Democrats as well. A sitting senator has not run for president and won since John F Kennedy, who was only the second to do so. LBJ and Richard Nixon were senators at one time, but not while they were running for president. The reason being is that governors have wielded executive power. They have delegated authority, made tough decisions, and have gotten things done. Senators do nothing but legislate, therefor in theory they are less qualified to become president. This year a senator will become president and I think that no matter who the president will be, it is in the country’s best interest to have a governor at least in the vice president’s seat.

So while I think it would be real interesting for someone from my state to be running for such a high office, I want him to stay here. I want him here for selfish reasons. While I have had a few problem with John Sununu, it is vital to New Hampshire that he wins re-election in the fall. His opponent, Jeanne Shaheen is a tax and spend liberal and we don’t need any more of her type in Washington. As governor of New Hampshire she instituted the statewide property tax that is crippling many middle class residents. She will bring more tax and spend ideas to Washington.

I don’t think that John Sununu is a realist candidate for vice president, I think this is all just speculation. I also don’t think John Sununu has a realist chance to retain his senate seat. But I hope he does. We need to defeat Jeanne Shaheen.

Liberty Group Holds an “Open Carry Litter Pickup” Event to Celebrate New Hampshire’s Gun Laws

May 4, 2008

A group called the Free State Project is looking to raise awareness of New Hampshire’s gun laws by staging an event that they call open carry litter pickup. It is exactly what it sounds like. This group will be wearing their firearms open carry while they clean the streets. In New Hampshire a permit is needed only to carry a weapon concealed, any resident can carry open.

This event is designed to show New Hampshire’s independent mindedness and liberatarian attitude. An attitude that I think has been slipping away over the last few years.

Here is more about the Free State Project from this article:

Ridley, 41, moved from Texas to New Hampshire in 2004 to participate in the Free State Project. The project announced in 2003 that it aims to recruit 20,000 liberty activists to relocate to New Hampshire and work for limited government and protection of constitutional rights.

Libertarians and liberty activists have long celebrated the New Hampshire Constitution, including Article 2-a, which reads, “All persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.”

We need all of the liberty activists who are working toward limited government as we can get. And fast. New Hampshire’s government programs are expanding, as are the nanny state regulations. We need this group to recruit transplants to the state before it is too late.
