The ACLU Argues in Court that the First Amendment Guarantees Immigrants the Right to Enter the United States

December 21, 2007

aclu.gif   This is unbelievable, well, actually it is the ACLU so no, it’s not so unbelievable. The ACLU is claiming a person should not be denied a visa to come to the United States to protest the war because of the freedom of speech.

The First Amendment right to freedom of speech should be interpreted as preventing the U.S. government from denying a visa to a foreign critic of U.S. war-time policy who has been invited to speak here, even when national security concerns are cited, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is claiming in a federal lawsuit.

Now forgive me for asking a stupid question here, but doesn’t the freedom of speech, guaranteed in the UNITED STATES constitution only apply to Americans? Don’t you have to actually be a citizen of the United States to be afforded the protections of the constitution?

The Aclu will stop at nothing to push their radical leftist positions upon the American people by using the court system. This is the latest example of that.

“This is a case not of speech but of immigration,” Roger Pilon, director of the Center for Constitutional Studies at the CATO Institute, told Cybercast News Service. “The government has always had this discretion.”

According to the ACLU the government shouldn’t have the right to regulate immigration. Does this sound as absurd as I think it does? This is the point in the post where I have to say that I am not opposed to LEGAL immigration, I am opposed to ILLEGAL immigration. There, I just made my politically correct disclaimer, so back to the post. I am certainly in favor of stopping people with questionable backgrounds, as this person has, from entering the country. Common sense would tell most people that there are certain types of people we don’t need or want in the country, but the ACLU lacks common sense. Honestly, much of America lacks common sense, and that is due to the rise of the nanny state. The nanny state has replaced common sense with disclaimers, warnings, and regulations, so it is not surprising that common sense is lacking here.

The freedom of speech does not guarantee foreigners the right to come to America any more than the freedom of religion guarantees Muslims the right to fly planes into buildings. I probably shouldn’t write that, it could give the ACLU ideas.

The ACLU has been working overtime to break down the United States and all the ideals she was founded on and this is the latest example. I consider the ACLU a political terrorist organization and I want them banned from the United States. The country would be better off without them and their anti-American agenda.

Why Haven’t I Been Blogging About the Iraq War Lately?

December 20, 2007

I recently came to the realization that I have not written a post about the Iraq war since December 4th, and my Iraq war postings have been seemingly more and more infrequent. Considering the fact that I began this blog to try to awaken people to the Islamo-fascist threat that we face, and most of my early posts were war related before it morphed into more of a conservative political news oriented blog, I began to wonder why.

The answer is painfully obvious. I search the internet on a daily basis looking for topics to write about and news articles to comment on. I have dedicated my blogging life to finding liberal news items and trying to offer a counter argument to them. In the beginning the Iraq war was in the news daily, and considering that I started this blog with the intention of raising awareness of Islamo-fascism and defending the Iraq war, the Iraq war news, or liberal propaganda as I see it, made for quite a few Iraq war postings almost on a daily basis. That was fine with me as I am a staunch defender of the war and an unapologetic cynic of those that use the Koran to justify violence against the infidels. Call me a racist if you want, I don’t give a fuck. My intention here was to call out the radicals in Islam, if you can’t understand that there is a difference between radicals and moderates when it comes to Islam, that is your problem, not mine. There is a group of people who want to kill us and I want to see them die before they have the chance to succeed.

So the answer to why I have not blogged as much on the Iraq war as I had intended to is that the fact is, it is no longer a news story. It is no longer a political story, and it is no longer a campaign issue. The war has vanished almost completely from the news and the candidates have moved on to healthcare and immigration. These are issues they believe can make a difference in the campaign.

The sad part here is why the war is no longer an issue. And the reason why is because we are now winning the war. This is a time when the war should be a bigger issue than ever. We should be feeling American pride at the fact that we have ended the potential civil war in Iraq, we should feel pride in the fact that alQaeda is crippled, we should feel pride in the significant drop in attacks on American soldiers. But Democrats have hitched their wagons to America’s defeat in Iraq and now that we have turned a corner the war must be ignored. It must be ignored so that Democrats can move on and push their socialist agendas. Democrats can’t win on the war issue if we are winning the war, so instead of acknowledging we are winning they simply ignore the war altogether.

So as I search the internet for articles to post and comment on I find fewer and fewer articles on the Iraq war because the fact we are winning has to be downplayed. When the media had suicide bombings and American casualties to report every day, they did so gleefully. Now that they no longer have all the violence to report  instead of hailing our troops for the great job they are doing they choose to ignore it.

America is winning the war, Democrats are losing it, and as such the media isn’t reporting it. Without the constant barrage of negative media reports on the war, I have had nothing to defend. Our potential victory speaks for itself.

And that is why I haven’t been blogging on the Iraq war lately.

Latest New Hampshire Primary Poll (12/20), Hillary is Back, McCain is Surging

December 20, 2007

As the New Hampshire primary draws closer we seem to have polls almost every day, and I have to say it is getting very interesting up here.

 The latest Republican results are:

The latest Rasmussen Reports’ New Hampshire poll shows Romney with 31 percent, McCain at 27 percent

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani attracts 13 percent, while former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is at 11 percent.

Romney had held a big lead in the polls, but it seems to have drastically tightened up. The surprising part of this, on the surface, is that it is McCain who has closed the gap. But when you look into it a little more deeply, it is almost understandable.

Independent voters make up New Hampshire’s largest voting block. Joe Lieberman’s recent endorsement of John McCain is what seems to be responsible for McCain’s surge. It appears as though this endorsement has swayed many Independent voters to John McCain. A recent poll also stated that 60% of Independents were undecided, so it is logical that many of them could have decided to vote for McCain after his endorsement from Lieberman.

 For the Democrats:

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton again leads Sen. Barack Obama, 38 to 26 percent

John Edwards is third with 14 percent and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson fourth at 8 percent.

Hillary has enjoyed a huge lead over Obama in the past, but after her recent gaffs coupled with Obama’s Oprah endorsement, Obama had pulled even. In just one week Hillary was able to surge to a 12 point advantage once again. I really have no clue on what is responsible for this, other than the fact that maybe Obama was just riding a temporary high ( not a drug reference, I will leave that up to the Hillary campaign), and the tide has shifted back to Hillary.

The fact is that there are still so many undecided voters here that come January 8th anything can happen. There could be a few surprises in the works. I have a couple of hunches, and as the primary draws closer I will make some predictions on how the election will turn out.

Video: Did Ron Paul Call Mike Huckabee a Fascist?

Watch this video of Ron Paul on Fox and Friends. Steve Ducey askes Ron Paul about Huckabee’s add where there is a bookshelf that looks like a cross. First Ron Paul says he hasn’t thought too much about it, and then he goes off on a tangent about fascism that clearly shows he must have planned these comments, so yes he has thought about it. And he decided to paint Mike Huckabee as a fascist. While I am not a Huckabee fan, comparing him to a fascist is just a little much.

New Hampshire Prisons Win PETA’s Approval

December 19, 2007

Cross posted on Grizzly Groundswell

This feel good liberal puff piece that appeared in today’s New Hampshire Union Leader is enough to make you throw up in your mouth a couple of times. It is all about how New Hampshire prisoners now have a vegan diet available to them as well as healthy dietary meals. Well thank God for that. I have to be honest, I couldn’t believe what I was reading, so let’s take a look at it, shall we?

“Prison food has traditionally gotten a bad rap, but you won’t hear many complaints from vegetarians and vegans who are serving time in New Hampshire. The delicious vegetarian shepherd’s pie, pot pies, lentil ‘meatballs,’ and tofu sandwiches have inmates asking for seconds,” PETA said in an announcement of the rankings yesterday.

Now doesn’t that help you sleep at night? Just knowing that criminals are enjoying delicious tofu sandwiches on the taxpayer’s dime makes me feel as though my tax dollars are well spent. NOT. New Hampshire needs to come up with $400 million dollars to fund the education bill that liberal governor John Lynch signed without any funding plan, yet we can ensure our criminals are eating vegetarian and vegan meals. Wonderful. How about we start by cutting out the special menu and put that towards education?

“Whenever you see convicted criminals turning away from a violent animal-based diet, it’s a good sign,” PETA vice president Bruce Friedrich said.

According to a chart on this pdf file, New Hampshire averages about 1000 violent criminals incarcerated a year since 1997. Now we hear PETA telling us how wonderful it is that some of these criminals, who committed violent acts against other people may select a diet that is kind to animals. Here we see the liberal hypocrisy of such organizations. They are more concerned with the health and well being of a couple of cows, and protecting cow’s rights when they should be more concerned with the fact that there are violent criminals that need to pay their debt to society. Some of these criminals are rapists and murderers, but at least they wont be engaging in violent acts against animals by eating them. Isn’t it nice to see PETA standing up for the rights of such low-lifes as SOME of these people are?

New Hampshire prisons are the fifth best in the nation in PETA’s eyes for their well diversified vegan and healthy menus. Prisoners, PETA has your back.

Latest Iowa Poll (12/18) Has John Edwards Leading

December 18, 2007

edwards-ugly-face2.jpg The latest Iowa poll has John Edwards leading both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

In an InsiderAdvantage poll in Iowa, Edwards leads among (977) likely voters 30-26-24 over Clinton and Obama. Edwards is also the clear second choice winner, 42-29-28 over Clinton and Obama. This is the first poll to show Edwards solely in the lead in Iowa since July.

Now this is getting interesting. As much as I think a Hillary nomination would be the death blow for Democrats, she is much too polarizing and her negatives are too high, I want to see her stopped as soon as possible. I can’t stand the thought of even giving her a chance in the general election, I want to see her candidacy ended as soon as possible.

As far as Obama goes, he has moved much farther left than Hillary and could possibly be worse for the country than Hillary. I have to say though, I think that Obama can reach people with his delivery and his speeches, so I worry about him gathering the Democrat nomination. Too many people could be sucked in by style instead of substance.

This is why I find this latest poll so interesting. John Edwards, I believe, may be the easiest so-called major candidate to beat in a general election. If he could somehow pull off a victory in Iowa and then move into New Hampshire with some momentum, who knows what could happen? But what I do know, or at least believe,  is this, as long as the Republican nominee is not Mike Huckabee the Republicans would have to be the early favorites in the general election over John Edwards. And that would be a good thing for the country.

San Francisco Considers Taxing Soft Drinks

December 17, 2007

San Francisco is now considering taxing high fructose corn syrup, in other words, soft drinks. This comes as no surprise as this is the same city that has tried to ban fireplaces, water coolers, and plastic bags in the name of stopping global warming. San Francisco has also voted to hand out ID cards to illegals as well as gender neutral ID cards, and created safe injection rooms for heroin addicts.

This latest scam is being spun as a way to, let’s all say it together, save the children. An old excuse, but a reliable one, after all, who wants to hurt the children? They have no ethics when it comes to raking in more money.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom says obesity accounts for tens of millions of dollars in city health care costs. He cites a recent San Francisco Health Department survey that found nearly a quarter of the city’s 5th, 7th and 9th graders were overweight and that high sugar drinks make up a tenth of a kid’s daily calorie count.

Let’s start off by asking a simple question, but a relevant one. How is it the government’s business how much a child weighs? The simple answer is, it is none of their damn business. If a child is overweight, the parents have the obligation here to try to help the child manage his weight. The parents carry the burden of raising the child healthy, not the government. Parents are too lazy and they welcome the government doing it for them in San Francisco evidently. Once again a Democrat is going after a big business while trying to say that they are doing it for the children.

Secondly, how does a tax on soda help a child to lose weight? Paying an extra five cents or so for a soda is going to dissuade a child from buying a soda? I don’t think so. This is just another way for politicians to get their hands on our money, because they feel they can spend it so much more wisely than we can.

And lastly, the mayor states that the overweight children cost the city tens of millions of dollars in health care costs. This is just an excuse to justify this additional tax. A tax, by the way, that would hurt the lower classes and the poor, the demographics the Democrats supposedly care about the most. But that is bullshit. It is spin to get the people to agree to the tax to save the children. If the mayor really cared about saving the city healthcare costs he would embark on a program to rid the city of ILLEGAL ALIENS, who use the emergency room as a primary care physician’s office. This is where millions of dollars are lost by the city. Providing free healthcare to illegals through the emergency room.

With everything that the city has proposed banning and taxing and regulating, illegals are still walking the streets unchecked. Hell, they can even get ID cards in San Francisco. Yet the legal residents must pay more and more to support these people who are a drain on the economy, and maybe even worse, society.

New Hampshire Rep. Carol Shea-Porter Caught in Fundraising Scheme

December 16, 2007

 Cross posted on Grizzly Groundswell

csp2.jpg New Hampshire Democrats have been illegally buying and selling registered voters lists for a profit. Now comes word that my representitive, Carol Shea-Porter, used tax dollars to purchase the voters lists.

“This whole scheme continues to give off the whiff of corruption. While orchestrating legislation allowing them to purchase the voter file for $450, New Hampshire Democrats negotiated to sell the file to at least five presidential campaigns for $65,000 each. They also sold it to at least three commercial list brokers in what may be a violation of state law. Now we find out they sold the list to Rep. Shea-Porter, who used tax dollars to pay for it. This is outrageous and wrong,” Cullen said.

Democrats were able to convince the voters that the Republicans were corrupt and needed to be voted out. We now see that the Democrats are corrupt and a change is needed. Carol Shea-Porter does not represent New Hampshire values, she has voted in lock step with Nancy Peloci’s San Fransisco values. It is time for a change, New Hampshire. It is time to rid ourselves of Carol Shea-Porter, Paul Hodes, and Governor Lynch. We need a new start, a new beginning. I am calling for all New Hampshire voters to rise up and fight the liberal beast that has taken hold in this state.

It is time for Carol Shea-Porter to return to her social worker roots, and stay out of New Hampshire’s buisness. Let’s send her home.

New Hampshire Democrats Caught in Fundraising Scheme

December 16, 2007

 Cross posted on Grizzly Groundswell

According to NHGOP Chairman Fergus Cullen New Hampshire Democrats have illegally funnelled $400,000 to the Democrat party. This scandal involves the illegal sale of registered voters lists to commercial entities.

Here is the full text of the post on the New Hampshire Republican Party website.

DEMS HAVE SOLD THE LIST TO COMMERCIAL VENDORS AS WELL AS PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGNS; NH GOP FILES AS INTERVENER IN CASE AND ASKS JUDGE TO ORDER THE MONEY BE RETURNED TO THE TAXPAYERS

NH GOP Chairman Fergus Cullen: “The Democrats appear to have orchestrated legislation to funnel more than $400,000 to the party. This list was gathered at taxpayer expense. If the list has a private sector value, the taxpayer should be the beneficiary. Therefore, the New Hampshire Republican Party is calling for the New Hampshire Democratic Party to pay the money back to the state.”

CONCORD – New Hampshire Republican Chairman Fergus Cullen accuses the New Hampshire Democratic Party of coordinating a fundraising scheme based on passing legislation to allow them to sell and profit from a taxpayer-financed statewide voter file and receiving more than $400,000 in payments to date.

“Using legislation to raise money for the New Hampshire Democratic Party is unethical at best. At worst, it has the whiff of corruption and may be illegal,” Cullen said.

Last week, the New Hampshire Republican Party filed as an intervener in the case initially pursued by the Libertarian Party, represented by the American Civil Liberties Union, challenging access to the list. New Hampshire Republicans argue that the state Democratic Party is profiting from the sale of a list based on a law that has since been declared unconstitutional.

The NH Democratic Party purchased the list from the Secretary of State on August 16, 2007. In court proceedings, attorneys for the Democrats stated that they had contractual obligations to sell the data. (Federal Election Commission, www.fec.gov, Accessed December 6, 2007; “Judge Strikes Down Voter Information Law,” Associated Press , November 29, 2007)

A review of public records reveals that: 1) The Democratic Party purchased the statewide voter file for $450 and then resold it multiple times to Democratic presidential campaigns; 2) They were negotiating to re-sell the list even while legislation allowing them to purchase it was being steered through the Democrat-controlled legislature; 3) The Democratic Party also sold the list to commercial list brokers, which may be a violation of state law.

WHILE DEMOCRATS SHEPHERDED THE BILL THROUGH THE DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED LEGISLATURE, THE NH DEMOCRATIC PARTY WAS ALREADY NEGOTIATING TO RESELL THE LIST TO PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGNS

In the winter of 2007, State Senator Peter Burling wrote legislation, SB 98, that allowed the New Hampshire Democratic Party to purchase a new and enhanced statewide voter file from the Secretary of State for $450. The Democrat-controlled legislature passed the bill and Democrat Governor John Lynch signed it into law. (2007 Session, SB 98, New Hampshire General Court)

While Senator Burling was shepherding the bill through the legislature, the New Hampshire Democratic Party was negotiating with Democratic presidential campaigns to buy the list from them for $65,000 each. Five presidential campaigns purchased the list – several of them doing so before the legislation had been passed – and others may do so:

  • On February 7, 2007, The Obama Exploratory Committee Paid $65,000 To The Democratic Party For “Voter File Access.” The Obama Exploratory Committee made an additional payment of $5,000 to the Democratic Party for voter file access on April 3, 2007. (Federal Election Commission, www.fec.gov, Accessed December 6, 2007)
  • On March 27, 2007, The Hillary Clinton For President Exploratory Committee Paid $65,000 To The Democratic Party For Access To The Voter File. (Federal Election Commission, www.fec.gov, Accessed December 6, 2007)
  • On April 13, 2007, John Edwards For President Made A Payment Of $65,000 And A Payment Of $5,000 To The Democratic Party For Voter File Access. (Federal Election Commission, www.fec.gov, Accessed December 6, 2007)
  • On May 18, 2007, Chris Dodd For President Paid $5,000 To The State Democratic Party For Voter File Access. The New Hampshire Democrats have stated that Dodd’s campaign purchased the list, so presumably another payment of $65,000 has been made but not yet reported. (Federal Election Commission, www.fec.gov, Accessed December 6, 2007; “Judge Strikes Down Voter Information Law,” Associated Press , November 29, 2007)
  • On July 3, 2007, Richardson For President Paid $65,000 To The Democratic Party For Voter File Access. (Federal Election Commission, www.fec.gov, Accessed December 6, 2007)

According To Their Spokeswoman, The New Hampshire Democratic State Committee “Makes A Profit” Off Of The Sale Of Their Voter File. “[Pia] Carusone said the party has had a database for years which it enhances and checks for updates against other data-bases, such as a national database for changes of address. The new information will simply update and add to that list, she said. She said the party makes a profit, but could not say how much since work updating the list is ongoing.” (Norma Love, “N.H. Dems Can Use New Voter Information For List Sold To Presidential Candidates,” Associated Press , August 14, 2007)

THE NEW HAMPSHIRE DEMOCRATS ALSO SOLD THE VOTER LIST TO COMMERCIAL LIST VENDORS

According to the law,

“No party shall use or permit the use of voter information provided by the secretary of state under paragraph I for commercial purposes as defined in RSA 654:31, I(b). Whoever knowingly violates any of the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor if a natural person or guilty of a felony if any other person.” (RSA 654:31, II)

“‘Commercial purposes’ means knowingly using, selling, giving, or receiving the checklist information for the purpose of selling or offering for sale any property or service unrelated to an election or political campaign.” (RSA 654:31, I)

The New Hampshire Democratic Party sold the list or access to the list to the companies below:

On January 19, 2007 Catalist Paid $25,000 To The NH Democratic Party For The “Sale” Of Their Voter File. On January 25, 2007 Catalist Paid Another $25,000 To The NH Democratic Party For The “Sale” Of Their Voter File. (Federal Election Commission, www.fec.gov, Accessed December 6, 2007)

  • “Welcome to CataList, the catalog of LISTSERV lists! On June 26, 2007 Smith Edwards Dunlap Company Paid The New Hampshire Democratic State Committee $5,000 For Voter File Access. (Federal Election Commission, www.fec.gov, Accessed December 6, 2007)

  • New Hampshire Democratic State Committee’s Memo For The Smith Edwards Dunlap Explicitly Stated That Their Payment Was For Access To The Voter File. “The payment on Schedule A supporting Line 17 from the Smith-Edwards-Dunlap Company was made for access to the voter file maintained by the New Hampshire Democratic State Committee. The fee charged for access to the voter file did not exceed the usual and normal charge or the ordinary market price at the time of the contribution. The fee that the Smith-Edwards-Dunlap Company was charged for the voter file was pro-rated based on the costs incurred by the State Committee in creating and maintaining the file and was also based on the amount of information that the Smith-Edwards-Dunlap Company was allowed to access on the file.” (Federal Election Commission, www.fec.gov, Accessed December 6, 2007)
  • Smith Edwards Dunlap Bills Itself As “Philadelphia’s Leading Commercial Printing Company.” (Smith-Edwards-Dunlap Company, www.sed.com/about-us.html, Accessed December 6, 2007)

  • Astro Research Inc. Is A Commercial Physical Research Company. (Astro Research Inc, Nexis Company Profile, Accessed December 7, 2007)

Joe Lieberman Will Endorse John McCain Tomorrow

December 16, 2007

The New Hampshire Union Leader is reporting that former Democrat turned Independent Joe Lieberman will endorse John McCain tomorrow. The paper is also announcing the two will be on the Today Show on NBC, and then will be at a town hall meeting together in Hillsborough, NH.
