New York Governor is Being Sued to Stop him From Giving Illegal Aliens Driver’s Licenses
Even in liberal New York the people are against Eliot Spitzer ordering the government to give out driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. Spitzer is being sued on behalf of a state taxpayer to halt this insidious program.
“Spitzer wants to use his public office to sanction illegal behavior and put all of us at risk through his plan to give driver licenses to illegal aliens,” said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, which worked with the New York law firm Borovina and Marullo PLLC to file the suit on behalf of Suffolk County resident and taxpayer James Staudenraus.
This is great news, I hope that it has traction. This would be a classic case of rewarding bad behavior. Actually, rewarding criminal behavior. The illegals don’t respect America’s laws enough to follow them to get into the country legally and we are supposed to hand over to them the same rights and privileges that an American citizen or legal alien is afforded. I don’t think so. I am so sick and tired of the argument about how this will bring them out of the shadows and into American society. They don’t belong in American society until they follow procedure and come here legally, it really isn’t that hard to understand. Yet Spitzer and other liberal politicians want to pander to Mexican voters by showing them how much they care about illegal Mexican immigrants that they don’t care about public perception of the future of this country.
It is time for Americans to stand up and say “NO MORE“, and I’m glad to see at least one New Yorker try.

Yeah! The RIGHT TO BUY AUTO INSURANCE must be preserved to only Citizens!
Really. Since the Board of Elections has to verify every voter’s registration submitted, what’s the problem with getting people’s picture taken, and Insurance Premiums out of them?

I guess Mike operates under the theory of “they’re already here so we might as well just accept it.” Personally, I disagree. I don’t think that these people should get anything. A state issued photo ID is the first step to de facto citizenship. If we break down and start issuing them identification, what’s next?
Of course, this brings to mind a bigger question. If they are illegal immigrants, why wouldn’t we just round them up and deport them when they step forward to get their state-issued ID? After all, they’re now identifying themselves as illegal. What is it about the word “illegal” evades these people? Issuing ID’s to illegal people is just like telling them that you don’t care that they’re illegal.

My wife is from a different country and we’ve had a devil of a time going through all the hoops of the legal immigration route.
Just imagine how ticked off this topic makes those of us who obey and get lots of grief for following the law. We work hard and fork out quite a bit of money to do it legally.
Rewarding those who do it illegally does an awesome job at swaying the votes of those who follow the law.
You can guess what the position on Amnesty is by most who had to wait and fight to get here.

Arclightzero, does Mike really think that people who have no regards for the immigration laws will abide by the laws of the road and actually carry car insurance?

It would certainly seem so, wouldn’t it? I wonder what it’s like to think so positively about things? I mean, I (we) may be pretty cynical a lot of the time, but I think our cynicism is based pretty heavily on what we observe and understand. I don’t understand how people can look at a bad situation and assume the best like that…
I guess that’s why they vote democrat 😉

The thing is, on the whole, I think Democrats are the more pessimistic party. They see the country as at fault for everything. They believe they can’t make anything out of themselves because the system isn’t fair and then they turn around and think the way Mike does about illegal immigrants.
We are cynical but only because we can see the wat the Democrats want to lead this country and it is scary. On the whole I would say Republicans are more happy with there everyday lives.
