Anbar Province to be Handed Over to Iraqi Control

 According to this story, Anbar province will be ready to be handed over to Iraqi control in March. This is great news as Anbar province had been a hot bed for insurgents in Iraq not all that long ago.

In a telephone interview from Iraq, Marine Maj. Gen. Walter E. Gaskin, commander of the roughly 35,000 Marine and Army forces in Anbar, said levels of violence have dropped so significantly—coupled with the growth and development of Iraqi security forces in the province—that Anbar is ready to be handed back to the Iraqis.

 So much for the surge being a failure. Gains are being made every day, the war has turned in our favor and yet in an under reported story we find this:

Thus far, nine of 18 Iraqi provinces have reverted to Iraqi control, most recently the southern province of Basra in December

 Half of Iraq has been handed over to Iraqi control. Yet the Democrat, defeatist leadership continue to drill into the American people’s heads that Iraq cannot take over control of their country, and they cannot make gains politically. The media just plays along. That is simply bullshit, and this news is further proof.

 Democrats, you better surrender soon, we are going to win this war if you don’t!
