Hillary Clinton to Target Obama’s Pledged Delegates

I have a problem with Hillary Clinton.

hillary_queen_usa.jpgActually, I have many, many problems with Hillary Clinton but today I have added another. Anybody who has been a reader here knows that I have been relishing the fact that Hillary Clinton and her campaign seem to be faltering. Readers here also know that I think Barack Obama would probably be a worse president than Hillary because he is even more to the left than Hillary. So while I have been enthusiastically routing for Hillary’s demise I have always felt a twinge in the back of my head that someone even more liberal than Hillary is more than likely going to be the next president. Today that twinge is gone. It is time to stop Hillary and it doesn’t matter if Obama is too inexperienced or too liberal. She must be stopped at all costs.

The reason I say this is because of the lengths this power hungry woman is willing to go to supersede the voters of her party and generally just shit on them. It has been widely reported that Hillary Clinton is trying to change the rules that the DNC imposed on Florida and Michigan to have their delegates seated at the convention. Rules that she agreed to until she won those states. Then came the talk that she was trying to persuade the party’s super delegates to vote for her and not for whom the super delegates constituents voted for. But now comes word that she is trying to get Barack Obama’s pledged delegates to switch their vote to her. Or at least she will try to according to one of her campaign officials if she can’t win fair and square. We are talking about the delegates that Obama won when he won the different state primaries and caucuses. We are talking about delegates that Barack Obama earned.

Technically this is not against the Democrat party rules.

“Delegates are NOT bound to vote for the candidate they are pledged to at the convention or on the first ballot,” a recent DNC memo states. “A delegate goes to the convention with a signed pledge of support for a particular presidential candidate. At the convention, while it is assumed that the delegate will cast their vote for the candidate they are publicly pledged to, it is not required.”

But let’s face it, if a delegate signs a pledge to a candidate and that candidate earned that delegate than that is who the delegate should vote for. Who in their right mind thinks they have the right to overrule the wishes of the voters? Hillary does. The wishes of the voters means nothing to this woman unless the voters wish she were president. That is why I say she will stop at nothing to be president.

“I swear it is not happening now, but as we get closer to the convention, if it is a stalemate, everybody will be going after everybody’s delegates,” a senior Clinton official told me Monday afternoon. “All the rules will be going out the window.”

Just look at that example she would be setting. All the rules will be going out the window is what one of her officials said. What a great example that would be for the young people of America. She will be teaching people across the country that the end justifies the means. She will be teaching us that is doesn’t matter how you get to where you want to be as long as you get there. Even if it means going against the will of the people to gain ultimate power and become president.

If she is willing to go to this length to become president, what is she willing to do once she is president. That is the question I keep asking myself. That is the reason I know believe she could even be more dangerous as president than Barack Obama. That is why she must be stopped.

“If you are Hillary Clinton, you know you can’t get the nomination just with superdelegates without splitting the party. You have to go after the pledged delegates.”

This logic makes no sense to me. I agree that going after the super delegates has the potential to split the party. Having the party insiders nominate Hillary Clinton if Barack Obama has the delegate lead going into the convention could deeply hurt the Democrat party, but wouldn’t going after pledged delegate have the same effect? Or worse. If Hillary won the nomination by getting the super delegates to vote for her it would potentially disenfranchise the black vote who would feel that their candidate had the nomination stolen from them, but if she won the nomination by getting Obama’s pledged delegates to change their vote, it would not only disenfranchise the black voters, but would also disenfranchise the young voters, and every other voter who voted for Obama. That could be the death knell of the Democrat party.

Hillary Clinton lusts after power, it is her aphrodisiac. She needs power, it is he addiction. She will stop at nothing to gain power and because of that we can not tell what she will do once she has power. Hillary Clinton believe it is her right to be president and she won’t let the voters stop her, even if it means tearing her own part apart.

If she will do that to her party, what will she do to our country?

wow. talk about dirty politics. We will not have a transparent and accountable government with Sen. Clinton if she wins. We’ll have more of the same. She won’t even submit her tax returns and her husband won’t release papers related to her “experienced” work on Health Care when he was in the WH.
I don’t think she’s any more power hungry than many men. I think the length to which she’ll go to win just shows that her heart is not in the right place. I also think many people find her actions a little more distasteful than they would if she was a man. Maybe we expect less from men.
Ever since her “tears” in NH I’ve felt that she feels entitled to win. I get a little of that vibe from Obama and especially from McCain, too.

There’s a lot more at stake for Hillary than just becoming President. The power of the Presidency pales in comparison.

If, indeed, she is going after Super Delegates, then her Facts-Update from yesterday is a lie. I don’t think she is though, I think this blog is propagating a lie. I think right now all she wants is for Obama to not steal hers as they are her only advantage, and a few of her Supers have already switched over to Obama.

It is unfortunate that people have decided that Sen. Clinton is so worthless. Both Sen. Clinton and Fmr. Pres. Clinton have done alot to make this country better for its people. Have they been perfect? Absolutely not. But I hope all those eagerly throwing stones ad Sen. Clinton will remember that what you pass out, you get back. She is a woman, a mother, a wife, an American, just like many of us.

It would be nice if we could enjoy this much positive fodder vs. negativity. Are the people of this country so blinded that they can not see any good in anything? What does that say for us as Americans?

I choose to believe that ANYTHING they have done pales in comparison to what we’ve experienced in recent years.

It’s easy to sling mud at someone else. Hope those mud slingers can take it too!

P.S. The Florida voters and the Michigan voters DESERVE to have their voices heard and their votes count.

As a practical matter, why not impose a fine on the Democratic Party of Florida and Michigan, but NOT disenfranchise 2-4 million voters AGAIN.

It’s not about who won the delegates, it’s about every voice being heard!!! Whether is was Sen. Obama, Sen. Clinton, Sen McCain, or any other candidate running for office, the votes MUST count.

    KYN,

You were doing okay in your first post and should have not put the PS in there. Instead, the PS post only underlines the primary issue many have with Hillary, etc.

Whether or not you feel the Florida and Michigan voters deserve, all parties agreed to ground rules and according to those rules those votes do not count.

The Clintons and with this prime example you have spelled out in your PS post have a tendency to not follow the rules or the laws when it isn’t to their benefit.

To be the President of the USA requires an oath of office to uphold the Constitution (supreme law of the land) and enforce the laws. If your chosen candidate you are stumping for readily ignores rules she agreed to, how can anyone trust her to follow, uphold or enforce the laws as a President much less protecting your Constitutional rights.

If that is your stance then enjoy your world. Most others view someone that readily breaks the rules and violates laws a cheater and a criminal. But what does the law and logic have to do with anything? Anarchy reigns supreme!! Yah right.

If you think Bush has violated the law and made a mess of things, then I’ll grant you that. But it is very poor logic to assert because you think he sucks that Hillary is better because she isn’t as bad. Newsflash, it is possible Bush, Bill and Hill all are not worthy of the Oval Office as they all suck and don’t follow the Constitution.

That’s kinda like me telling you I want my small toe smashed because it doesn’t hurt as much as my big toe being smashed. Option C of do not smash either toe is still viable. But I guess sadomasochism is a right you can use.

Sphynx, Hillary might be lying on her facts update? You must be kidding, a Clinton would never lie! RIIIGGGHHTTT! I am propagating a lie? I was just writing about a story I read, it is linked above.

    KYN, you wrote:

” Are the people of this country so blinded that they can not see any good in anything? What does that say for us as Americans?”

That is exactly what I have been saying about how the Bush administration has been treated. How do you feel about the Bush administration?
Gary is right about the Florida and Michigan primaries, it was the Democrat party that punished those states, and it was the Democrat candidates who agreed with the punishment, you can’t change the rules when it favors one candidate over another, that flies in the face of free and open elections.

I would like to know from KYN exactly how the Clintons made life better for us Americans. From what I see, Clinton’s economic policies set us on the path to the mess we’re in now. Bush II didnt do it alone. President Clinton is a very intelligent man who I had the privilege of hearing speak at my university a few years ago. He is an excellent public speaker. I do think he believed passionately in something. He was also hampered by a fractious Congress dominated by Republicans. As a young adult though, I’m yet to see how my life is better and how I have more opportunities than my parents generation did.

By the way mpinkeyes, yesterday at work I read that the Clinton campaign finally responded to this rumour about targeting Obama’s delegates and said it was false. I didnt post yesterday b/c I didn’t send the link to myself at home and forgot again today. I think if you google you may find something though. just an fyi.

WHETHER YOU WANT THE VOTES OF MI OR FL TO COUNT OR NOT.. THE FACT IS THEY ARE GONNA COUNT.. IT IS AGAINST THE CONSTITUTION TO DISENFRANCHISE THESE STATES.. 3 OTHER STATES MOVED UP THEIR PRIMARIES AND WERE EXCUSED BY THE DNC. THE CONSTITUTION SURPENCISES THIS AGREEMENT THAT THEY SIGNED SO THE VOTES WILL BE COUNTED.. END OF SUBJECT… NOW MAYBE WE CAN HAVE A FAIR ELECTION WERE ALL THE PEOPLES VOTES ARE COUNTED OBAMA SUPPORTERS…SEE HOW FAR AHEAD HE IS WHEN THIS PROCESS IS OVER AND ALL THE PEOPLES VOICES ARE HEARD…
