60 Year Old Cartoon Warns of Barack Obama

October 19, 2008

Below is a cartoon that I found at No Looking Backwards. This cartoon may be 60 years old but in light of the current state of politics in the United States, and the fact that we are about to put a socialist in the White House this video is eerie. It is about to come true.

Dr Utopia sounds a hell of allot like Barack Obama.

Why the labels? Why can’t you just say you disagree with Obama’s policies instead of throwing our buzzwords like socialist and such? I mean I could counter with buzzwords for McCain as well, but I won’t call him a fascist. I don’t think you can sum up someone’s identity with a label. So you won’t here me call Palin/McCain fascists. That just isn’t what should be said.

You’re right, let me rephrase that. I disagree with Obama’s socialist agenda. Is that better? 🙂

Yes thanks. 🙂 I”m glad we can disagree on a friendly basis.

It’s the republican party that this cartoon is warning us about, the republicans are the ones trying to divide this country, pit American against American, they foster race hatred and religious intolerance.
Republicans have also turned out to be the biggest socialists imaginable, by socializing losses on Wall Street they have proven that they are the true socialists.

Thank you for posting that. If you liked that you will LOVE this. I’ve posted it several places!

Here is why McCain is losing… The Republicans are focusing on the end of this cartoon… Yet, their party has spent the last 8 years destroying the first 2 minutes.

Why not be socialists? When the “Defenders” against it have made us a place where private property, privacy, small government, and non-interventionism are all things of the past?

Socialism is not a “buzzword”. It is exponentially more dangerous than any buzzword. And it was the democrat led congress that voted in the bailout. Both parties have responsibility there. Obama will tax the small businesses who create the jobs to give the money to people who say they cannot get a good job. Welfare is a vicious circle. Success and wealth require effort and hard work, isn’t that just plain common sense? Complaining about rich people doesn’t make more money for you. How many times……….

Could not agree more Smathis and Bison. I would rather be a Socialist than a Fascist any day. For someone to say that Obama is a socialist and McCain is not, look at the bailout. This is a socialist move on both parties. The only difference between Obama and McCain is McCain wants to take away more rights because of the “scary” Muslims. “they want to kill you all! Vote for me because I will blow the Middle East up and we can go back to pre-2001! Just sign away 90% of your rights and don’t worry about the deficit…” Sorry that is not something I want to be a part of… OBAMA 08!

Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.’s father, Obama Sr., was a Muslim-born socialist serving at the highest levels of a socialist government in Kenya as their Senior Economist in the Finance Ministry. Concerns about Communism affecting the thoughts and actions of Junior in connection with his presidential run are well warranted.

I find it tragic that our country has gotten so far from the principles that made us great. Somehow I don’t think our founding fathers would agree that taking my money and letting the governent “spread the wealth” is the idea of the American dream. It starts with a little control and before long the government is telling you what you can and cannot do or say. That is NOT our country. Oh, and how do you give 95% of people a tax break when 40% of those people don’t pay any taxes now? You don’t make this country better by tearing down any one person to advance someone else. No thanks!

Socialism and the loss of freedom is exactly the agenda of Barack Hussein Obama.

Just one litle example: Government-controlled health care will lead to government intervention in the most innocent parts of your lives, right down to how much you eat. Recall Obama’s comments that Americans can’t eat all they want and expect the world to approve. It is not for the world to approve or disapprove. But his International Socialism makes him forget that little wrinkle.

    Think about it.

Good cartoon. . . more need to watch it!

I just want to share with you. . . Obama is constantly covering up what he really believes. . . In fact, being a friend of Edward SAid and al Khalidi, he told them both that he would keep his pro-Palestinian views to himself until he could get elected. . . He is not pro-Israel.

Sometimes labels are correct. Who here would disagree with catching someone who has denied being a member of the Socialist New Party in Chicago for years. He has been caught red-handed as they say. has the internet archive and it clearly shows websites from long ago. You can read it yourself by clicking my name here. Or Google the term ‘Amazon to Barack: You’re a Socialist.
    Excellent cartoon find!

First of all we have had a progressive tax system since the teens. As in 1915 or so. Socialism is not about taxation. It is about controling the means of production and group ownership…kinda like what Bush did with the nationalization of the Banks.

Know your facts before you start believing the talking points.
Why do people who do not make more than 250K a year complain about fairness? Do any of you make more than 250k?

Secondly America was founded on the idea of helping out our fellow citizens. The trickle down economics of Reagan and Bush/McCain/Palin do not work.

We are harder hit now if we are middle class than ever before. Palin/McCain want to make their rich friends richer and they do not care about 95% of working famliies in the states.

Real conservatives understand that if the lower and middle class have more disposable income they will help grow the economy more than the uper 1 % getting a 3% tax decrease.

(The tax plan of Obama for people making over 250K is a reversal of the bush tax cuts. The rate? 36% goes up to 39% Give me a break they can afford it. Meanwhile the middle class is on average in 7000 dollars of credit card debt and we have a housing crisis ect.)

  17. October 24, 2008 7:57 pm

I agree with you on your point about Bush nationalizing the banks. I am so pissed off about that that I can’t even think about it anymore.
The problem with Obama’s plan is that he won’t just raise taxes on people making 250k or more. He has proposed $1 trillion in new spending and promises 95% of Americans a tax decrease, that would include the 40% or so of those who don’t pay taxes in the first place. It doesn’t add up.

I’m really tired of that silly lie that Republicans are trying to divide the nation just because they want to represent the values and beliefs of the people who elected them to represent them.

If it is such a concern to the left, why is it they nominated the #1 most extreme liberal senator in the entire United States congress? And why is it that he chose the #3 most extreme liberal senator in the entire United States congress?

who is trying to divide the nation?

Part that I see happening is the Unions and they will be controlling but not in the way American workers think. U will have a number and your word will not have any power in the Unions. But you wil be paying into them.

We need to get as many people to see it as we can, there is not much time left.

It’s not about “name calling” and “labels”, it’s about calling a spade, a spade. Has this country become so hypersensitive and politically correct that speaking the truth and calling something by its proper name, and not by a “feel-good” euphemism is now “name calling” or libel and slander”??? BHO is espousing Socialism, the very same Socialism that his closest associates and friends from his early teens to the present-day have espoused. It’s the very same Socialism that has failed since its creation over 150 years ago. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.

A lot of people seem to have many problems with the words/labels of Liberalism and Socialism. But they seem to like the ideas of FDR who ended up bringing us out of the worst financial crisis and most deadly war in the United States’ history. Little do they know that the New Deal, implemented by Roosevelt was nothing but a form of democratic socialism, which had to be renamed Liberalism for the masses. It required Americans to WORK TOGETHER to rebuild the nation’s infrastructure, sacrifice the creature comforts that had and still make this country the largest consumer and excess driven nation in the world. Fear during the Cold War destroyed the prosperity that liberalism promised. Why rename it? Because the majority of people were idiots enough to think that socialism and communism were the same thing. It’s easier to placate stupidity and bigotry by labeling the object of fear something else, than to actually educate those who are ignorant. Sadly, America has taken this course for far too long. If you’d educate yourself, you’d know that socialism and captialism are not incompatible systems. Learn from the past and the world around you. The greatest failing of mankind is that we’re destined to repeat the past. If Jesus were to come down to America right now, we’d surely crucify him again, in some new modern way. Many wealthy, successful countries practice both capitalism and socialism. Jesus was the greatest proponent of socialism. Christians don’t even understand their own God.

And if a FREE market is the answer to all of our problems, then 2% of Americans wouldn’t control over 90% of America’s wealth and assets. That is a vastly unproportionate distribution of wealth and prosperity, which only represents a slap in the face to our forefathers; and it does nothing but make this country less FREE.

This just goes to show what politicians and religious leaders have known all along. The vast majority of people are sheep and will believe whatever they’re told, without actually taking the time to learn the truth for themselves. LEARN for god’s sake.

Oh yeah, who says that you cannot be pro-Palestinian and not anti-Israel? That’s what the whole mid-east peace process is supposed to be about. Look at it from both perspectives, IF YOU CAN? Israel is just as big of an oppressive aggressor as Zionists view Palestine as being. Do you not remember that the land that Israel now sits on once belonged to the Palestinians, before NATO stole it as reparations for what Germany did to the Jews during the Holocaust? They once considered offering the Jews a section of the United States as a place for them to form Israel. You think there wouldn’t be aggression happening between the U.S. and Israel if the land WE STOLE from the Native Americans, fair and square, was re-stolen from us to give to immigrants like the Jews? If that was the case, the U.S. would be the ones fighting in a neverending battle with Israel. How would that make you feel? The killing happens from BOTH sides. And noone should condone it, for either the Palestinians or the Israelis.

You have to understand that oppression can come from someone who has once been oppressed. And it does. We as a people need to learn to stop pointing fingers and start embracing difference. We can only grow by working together, and not against one another.
