Barack Obama Supporters Deface the American Flag
Some of Barack Obama’s enthusiastic supporters decided to show their support by…..defacing the American flag.
Placing Obama’s image on the American flag is in direct violation of the flag code which states; “The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature”.
Is this a big deal in the long run? Does this reflect on Barack Obama? No, but it just shows a lack of respect for the flag that so many people have fought and died for, and are still fighting for today. These people don’t even have the common decency, or are just plain ignorant of what they are doing, to not desecrate the symbol that so many people have sacrificed their lives to defend. People have died to defend the rights of these very same people to demonstrate in such a disgraceful manner.
I wonder how many of them even think about that, and how offensive some people find their actions.

I agree – I also feel that wearing the American flag as a shirt or bandana or bumper sticker or magnetic ribbon is disrespectful!!! It’s really a false display of ‘patriotism’ anyway. I am going to the inauguration, am thrilled that Barack Obama is our next president and hope that he will have the support needed to get this country moving in a more positive direction. Those who choose to display the flag really should take a look at how to do so properly.

roundtoit, you are correct about the shirt and bandana, the flag should be on neither. It is also incorrect for the flag to be displayed on pizza boxes, as it often is, because the boxes get thrown away. Tee flag isn’t supposed to be displayed on items that are disposable. On an interesting sidenote, the American flag postage stamp violates flag code and that is distributed by the Post Office.
Jake, what’s your pint? Those links are all examples of improper flag displays. I disagree with all of those also. Read the flag code before you say that I don’t know what I am talking about, it is in black and white.

Rules, shmules. People hardly do anything that is written in black and white anymore, unfortunately. I’m sure the left will say this is patriotice because it’s the POTUS. *sigh*

Yea, that’s what I fought and watched my buddies die for. Some socialist’s name and image plastered over my beloved flag. Didn’t Lenin have his image on his flag? We are headed down a rough road boys. Hang on to your hats.
I don’t know why anyone is surprised. This man’s supporters do not care about the United States of America or its sovereignty. They are a bunch of One World Socialists looking for somebody to take care of them so they don’t have to actually get a job and work for a living.

Sad–People have placed this Man so high that he now becomes associated with the symbol of this Nation. This Love Affair with this “Un-Tested” President Elect has become absurd, one can only hope the people come out of this “Daze”, and step back into reality.

I think there are many who voted for “change” and all that Obama promised and did not look at his record. Likely they aren’t looking at his appointments either. They’ll go happily along hoping for the best, until it bites them in the a** and it may be too late. Then there are some who march in our streets with communist flags and actively profess to want socialism. Wonder if they ever really looked at how the little guy, which almost all of them are, fares under socialism?

I’ve written about that flag a few times and agree, it’s definitely not proper flag etiquette!! I agree with flying the American flag proudly but comon’ now…..Obamas face on it? I guess some people just don’t know the flag rules and what’s right and wrong. Then again, they can’t just call themselves AMERICAN and leave it at that.
