Barack Obama supports taxing healthcare benefits

January 7, 2010

Barack Obama is in the final push to sign some form of healthcare reform into law; he is so desperate to pass something– anything– that he is abandoning all of his campaign promises on this issue. He recently held a meeting with House Democrats in which he told them that the Senate version of the healthcare bill would have to be accepted virtually unchanged by the House in order for the Senate to hold onto the 60 votes needed to pass it. During this meeting he let it be known that the House would have to drop its opposition to taxing “Cadillac” healthcare plans; in other words, Barack Obama favors taxing these “Cadillac” plans.

Under the House bill, higher income families would have their income taxes raised to help pay for healthcare reform, but the Senate plan takes a different route; under the Senate plan higher income families would not be taxed at a higher rate, instead people who have these so-called “Cadillac” healthcare plans would have to pay taxes on these plans.

Barack Obama favors taxing these “Cadillac” plans over raising the taxes of wealthier Americans. I find that very interesting, especially after watching the following video from the campaign trail:

When talking about John McCain’s healthcare reform proposal that included a tax on healthcare benefits he called the idea, “so radical, so out of touch.” He ridiculed John McCain’s proposal on numerous occasions during the campaign, but now Barack Obama has thrown his support behind the very proposal that he once called “radical” and “out of line with our basic values” and “out of touch” with ordinary Americans and “what you are going through.”

He has chosen this proposal over what his stated campaign position was– to tax wealthier Americans. Instead, he will tax middle class Americans who make far less than the $250,000 threshold that he claimed would see no tax increase whatsoever.

He went on to say that if healthcare benefits are taxed, many employers will drop their healthcare benefits and that many Americans will lose the healthcare that they have through their workplace, yet he still claims that under his healthcare reform plan all Americans that like their insurance will be able to keep it.

If he adopts John McCain’s plan to tax healthcare benefits and he was telling the truth about employers chosing to drop healthcare coverage, how is it possible for Americans to keep their insurance if they like it but their employer drops it?

When John McCain proposed this idea it was “radical” and “out of touch” but now that Barack Obama supports it himself, it is “change that we can believe in.”

Seriously, this man has lost whatever credibility he had left. No wonder that Nancy Pelosi is bullshit at him.

Barack Obama is a walking contradiction, so I give you some Green Day lyrics from the song of the same name that sum up Barack Obama perfectly:

Do as I say not as I do because
The shit so deep you can’t run away
I beg to differ on the contrary
I agree with every word that you say
Talk is cheap and lies are expensive
My wallet’s fat and so is my head

I have no belief
But I believe
I’m a walking contradiction

It’s aggravating that we cannot do anything about this. That we cannot do anything about politicians that abandon their promises and statements that got them elected in the first place. Electing someone else in 4 years is not an acceptable arrangement. In just 1 year, we have seen what unchecked politicians can do.

The only thing that we can do is make a change in congress this year, hopefully we will be able to reverse this. The only problem is that while the healthcare changes do not go into effect until after 2012 these taxes start right away.

I did think that BO was just using this “hate the rich” schtick as a left-wing appeasement tactic, but now I’m sure– it is in his DNA. Where did he learn it, though? From College? Michelle? Both, probably. And call me slow,(nothing new!) but I just realized that the president named the dog after himself. How can that reflecting pool be so deep and so shallow at the same time? And, Sam, I don’t know what your view of God is, but all we can do now is to trust in Him, everything happens for His reasons. Remember–“certain inalienable rights, endowed by our Creator…”

I don’t even know what his dog’s name is to tell you the truth. And yes, he really hates the rich– even though he is one of them– he honestly believes that America is fundamentally flawed and he intends to change her.

That’s right! How could I forget? Although I never realized that the dog’s name was Obama’s initials either.

I have been thinking about ‘we the people’s’ choice of Obama in a theological respect. I think Obama is our Saul. He wasn’t necessarily who God would have chosen, but with free will, God let us choose. And choose we did.

So, that makes me thing that the next President will be a David. hmmm…that gives me some hope.

I agree with Sam and Deb, though. We cannot wait for another 3 years. There won’t be anything left of America. I recently read an article the claims there are some investigators that are looking into the Obama’s law licenses in Chicago. Apparently, there is strong evidence that they both lost their licenses for ethical misconduct. If true, that does not bode well for America and may explain Obama’s inability to do the right thing or to tell the truth.

Also, outside of the H/C bill, Heritage is predicting that 90% of our income will go to taxes by 2030. In addition, the IRS changed the tax rates for 2010 and married couples and the middle class are going to get hit. They reduced someone making 280.00 and taxed at X amount to 216.00 and taxed at XX amount. In other words, lower thresh holds and higher taxes to pay for this frivolous spending.

Head shake. It just makes you want to bash your head against a wall sometimes. But then, this administration probably would put us on the “watch list” for odd behavior if we did that. lol

Where did BO learn to hate the rich?
20 years of Jeremiah Wright, his friend the radical Bill Ayers, and his favorite book Rules for radicals for starters.
Birds of a father flock together…just take a look at his friends.
God only knows (for now) what he wrote in Collage but I am sure it exposes what he really thinks. We know from his autobiography that his benefactor was Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tariq al Mansour a/k/a/ Daonald Warden.

But we are told none of this mattered by our defenders of the truth the MSM.
We are warned by every conservative voice out there yet 69,000,000 voted for this.
You got that right about Saul, rather then doing the right thing the people wanted a King to tell them what to do. God gave them what they wanted…A man just like themselves…corrupt to the core.

I think BO is the best thing that has happened to the Conservative movement.
I hope he rises taxes so high that it puts a complete stop to all commerce.
I hope he gets his $5.00 a gallon gasoline. I hope the American people pay such a high price for their ignorance that it negatively labels the Democratic party in the minds of men for the rest of time.
Hey don’t get me wrong…peace in my time but if we get our David to soon the American people will just go on in ignorance…History tells us that only after the pain gets so sever that we can no long stand it will the American people rise up and take control of their own Government.

BO is moving US in that direction faster then any Communist ever dreamed it could be done.
I thought BO stood for Body Odor? His politics sure sticks like a skunk in an outhouse.
