The White House sent Bill Clinton to offer Joe Sestak a job to drop out of the Pennsylvania primary
There is an old adage in politics that if you must admit bad news, you do it on a Friday so that it will miss all the weekday news cycles and hopefully the story will fade away before the next news cycles begin. The adage also says if the news is very damaging, if it is at all possible, you hold it until the Friday before a holiday, thus buying an additional 24 hours when nobody is paying attention.
Today the Obama regime followed that adage to a tee when they released the news that Rahm Emanuel sent Bill Clinton to Joe Sestak’s office with a job offer in return for his agreement to drop out of the Pennsylvania Democrat primary race. Of course they are still denying that the reason for the job offer was in return for Sestak agreeing to drop out of the race. But this does raise more questions than it answers about a possible federal crime having been committed by Rahm Emanuel and President Clinton– and possibly even Barack Obama himself. Surely Rahm Emanuel wouldn’t have moved forward with this scheme unbeknownst to the president, would he?
According to this update, the Obama regime is claiming that no federal crime was committed because the job offer to Joe Sestak was for an unpaid position.
The office of Robert F. Bauer, the White House counsel, has concluded that Mr. Emanuel’s proposal did not violate laws prohibiting government employees from promising employment as a reward for political activity because the position being offered was unpaid. The office also found other examples of presidents offering positions to political allies to achieve political aims.
I honestly do not know whether it makes a difference if the position was a paid position or not because the intent to affect an election was still made, and if Joe Sestak had accepted the job he would have dropped out of the race. The race could have and would have been affected by Joe Sestak’s acceptance whether the job was a paid position or not.
But for the sake of argument, let us say that a crime was not committed by offering Joe Sestak an unpaid job. If President Clinton was authorized to “feel out” Joe Sestak and offer him an unpaid position at the start of what the regime felt were negotiations, there is reason enough to believe that this unpaid position may not have been the final offer. Nobody who enters negotiations starts right up front with a final offer, I think that it is reasonable to assume that this was just the first offer, and if Joe Sestak wasn’t stupid enough to open his mouth there may have been a paid offer coming as negotiations continued. We have no idea how far Rahm Emanuel was willing to let President Clinton go in order to keep Joe Sestak out of the race. This is a question that needs to be answered under oath.
In a further update, Joe Sestak has confirmed that it was indeed President Clinton- acting at the behest of Rahm Emanuel, and presumably Barack Obama– that contacted him with the job offer, although he is now trying to downplay it.
We now have confirmation that contact did take place between the Obama regime and Joe Sestak. We also know that Joe Sestak had originally interpreted this contact as being a job offer in return for him agreeing to drop out of the race. And on top of that, we know the Obama regime is denying two things; first, that this offer was not an attempt to influence the outcome of an election; and second, that even if it was, it did not violate the law because the offer was for an unpaid position. The second denial leads us to question the legitimacy of the first denial. Why issue the second denial unless the regime felt that the first denial wouldn’t hold water?
And then there is the question, why did Rahm Emanuel send President Clinton on this task? If Barack Obama is the man that the Democrats believe is the savior, Bill Clinton is the man that Democrats consider to be the holy father. The fact that the regime would send in the most prominent Democrat to do its bidding shows us exactly how serious this administration was taking this issue, and how badly they wanted Joe Sestak out of the primary race.
As if all of the above weren’t enough, there are still the rumors that the Obama regime promised Arlen Specter a “clear field” in the Democrat party as an enticement for him to leave the Republican party. A rumor that both the Obama regime and Arlen Specter deny.
The fact remains that the Obama regime did contact Joe Sestak, and there are still too many unanswered questions– such as did Barack Obama promise Arlen Specter a “clear field” in the Pennsylvania Democrat primary– to just let this story fade away. We need to know the truth, especially now that we know there was contact between the two parties. Republicans need to keep up the pressure on Eric Holder to appoint a special prosecutor to this case. Will Rahm Emanuel, Barack Obama, Arlen Specter, Bill Clinton, and Joe Sestak be willing to testify under oath that no wrongdoing was committed?

This, I have a feeling, is just the first chapter in a long story, perhaps a novel!. I don’t know if we will ever get the full story. The best hope for this would be to gain control of one house of congress and gain subpoena power in one of the committees. Until then unless something is leaked not much will be revealed.

I don’t think this is going anaywhere as long as the Democrats are in charge either, but if the Republicans take back the House I hope they will move forward on it. Perhaps if we yell loud enough Democrats won’t be ablt to ignore it.

I think it’s pretty clear that something illegal went on here. The question is, will anything come of it?

I agree, there is no longer any doubt in my mind that something illegal happened here. I don’t have much hope that anything will be done.

Yes, I think Darryl Issa is just doing some wishful thinking, too. THis is Obama and slick Willie we’re talking about here…. this will go away. It’s probably just some razzle dazzle. All these things are like water off a duck’s back for Obama. Patience, righties! I know it’s hard but it’s not too far away—- 1/20/13!!!!

It may only be wishful thinking, but it is fun to think about. Hopefully this will be one thing Americans are thinking about when they head to the polls.

Yes, it IS fun to think about! And I have absolutely no doubt that Obama was in the middle of the whole thing, Chicago politics at its finest.
However, if it would rise to the level of impeachment… which bribery would… the only thing that scares me more is the idea of “President Biden”.

I don’t doubt that Obama was in the middle of this either, but I don’t think there is proof. So you won’t have to worry about President Biden.
