Barack Obama may grant amnesty to illegals using an executive order
According to this article several senators have learned that Barack Obama may grant amnesty to illegal aliens using an executive order if he is not able to get 60 votes in the senate to pass amnesty.
Eight senators have sent a letter to Barack Obama asking him to clarify whether this is an option the president is considering.
Barack Obama has already shown the American people that he does not give a damn what they want in the debate over healthcare reform. Barack Obama and congress bent the rules in order to pass the unpopular healthcare reform bill against the will of the American people and there is no reason to believe that he will not use shady tactics in order to pass another unpopular bill– amnesty for illegals.
Regardless of which side of the amnesty debate you are on, consider for a moment the precedent that this move would set. The constitution sets up a check and balance that is supposed to guard against any one branch of government from becoming too powerful (especially the office of the president) by putting in place a procedure where a bill must be approved by both houses before the president can sign it into law. Yet– if this story is true– all of the proper constitutional procedures would fall by the wayside. If congress can not agree on a bill, Barack Obama is intending to side step that little inconvenience and declare that illegals will be granted amnesty.
This is anti-constitutional to say the least. Why even bother with the charade of debate in congress anymore if this is what it is going to come down to? If it no longer matters what happens in congress because the president is going to issue a proclamation declaring what the new law is regardless of what the constitution states is the acceptable procedure, why are we wasting our time in congress trying to come up with a bill that most Americans can agree with?

Steve – does this over-the-top screw you Americans attitude bother you? How does President Obama’s action not fit the criteria for impeachment. This man is running rogue! Not once has he listened to the people that he was ELECTED to SERVE.
This is just becoming a nightmare that we cannot seem to awaken from. Geesh!
I can’t help but wonder if the bottom line in everything Obama has done since becoming President is to instill confusion! I can’t even keep half of what he has done straight and people are really starting to get mad as hell.
Nothing that he has implemented is clear, concise, simple, or understandable – even by lawyers – so again is this a ploy to confuse while he does whatever the heck it is He is trying to do?
I never thought I would so totally disagree with one of my President’s but this one just takes the cake. I can not find any common ground with him.

It bothers the hell out of me! Maybe if we win enough seats we can talk about impeachment, but until then there is nothing we can do to stop him except hope he stops himself somehow. Maybe he will trip himself up on his own words, because as you said he doesn’t always seem to be clear. He will say one thing one day and the opposite the other, he is doing this to try to keep everybody happy.

I got to tell you Steve, we need 34 states to call an article V convention and start stripping the powers away from the feds. I know that there are people that fear this because they worry that the progressives will get their way and dismantle the Constitution, but you could go into the convention with the pre-condition that the bill of rights are off limits. I think having an article V convention in the open would expose the progressive/socialist agenda. I say let the American people hear their argument and choose between liberty and freedom or statism and bondage. It’s a heck of alot better than allowing them to remain in the shadows and influence policy. I trust the Americans will choose liberty and freedom all the time, every day. You will always have your fringe elements that will choose the latter, but that’s all they are; fringe elements.

The news of this possible plan by the President is all over the Internet. There seems to be no way of confirming it at this time, but if it is true, it is indeed bad news. If he does this, it would appear he is trying to circumvent Congress and the will of the American people.

It is still unconfirmed, but if eight senators sent him a letter there has to be something to it. This would be about the worst thing he could do, circumventing the constition to implement his views is the exact opposite of what the founders intended. If he does this and he gets away with it, we can expect more of it on all issues.

The first thing americans need to do is to stop the money flow to this idiot, go to your job’s bookkeeper and claim all the dependents it takes to have $0 taken out of your check. The next thing is to tell any lame duck member of congress that if they go wild and pass all of obama’s bills, that when the next bunch get into office, they will pass a law that stops ALL pensions and healthcare for ex-congressmen who are deemed to be unworthy, and last but not least, the secret service will no longer be provided for any rouge presidents. That is what we should do for a start. We need our next round of congressman and women to man-up and if they won’t, it may become necessary for ‘we the people’ to head out to dc and take care of it ourselves.

Let me ask you this. If a convicted serial killer moved to America and lived here for 5 years and then was found out, does he have a civil right to continue living here because he worked and stayed out of ‘trouble’ for five years?
The answer is no! There are consequences to people’s decisions/actions. I didn’t force these illegal aliens to America. They came willingly and THEY CHOSE to break our laws.
In addition, YOU and I are paying for their health-care, their welfare, their schooling – all of it. In Oklahoma – I know of contractors who were losing there shirts because Illegal aliens would come here and underbid them to get work. There was no way for the American businessman to underbid them and keep their companies afloat. The Illegals had no company to speak of so they could take less and less.
What is wrong, may I ask, in asking them to come here LEGALLY?

Hey Steve. My folks actually filed taxes every single year. They reported every penny they earned, and paid their taxes on time. You may ask; how in the world did they do that? They were forced to use a false Social. They did everything like a normal American, and yet they did not receive tax returns. They did not care, because they wanted a strong future for my sister and I. Its not fair that illegals have to go through all of this BS (excuse my language). My parents did not depend on anyone’s taxpayer dollars. Its a huge misconception that “Illegals don’t pay taxes”. I know that my parents did something bad, by using a false Social, but they only did it in order to pay their dues. Let me clarify something. My parents used a fake SSN, not a stolen one. A stolen SSN would’ve had my parents imprisoned. A fake SSN on the other hand wouldn’t. Francisco, I saw this on Facebook just today. I have many friends from countries all over the world (including Mexico) who have “run the gauntlet” of the legal system to become U.S. citizens. My grandparents came here from Croatia back in the early 1900s and did not have an easy time of it. It’s not a matter of opinion, preference, like or dislike–it’s the law. It’s also not unfeeling. If the U.S. must accept everyone who wants to be here, it sets a dangerous precedent and will destroy the golden goose of all our country stands for. We can only espouse as much altruism as we can afford–we can’t give what we don’t have, and our economy is hurting. I’ve been mostly unemployed for over a year. I do also understand that there has been a long-standing momentum of the federal government condoning illegal immigration, whereas the states have not necessarily agreed–this is a serious issue of state sovereignty. The people who should be in trouble are the companies who hired the illegals in the first place and the illegals should only be legal by going through the proper channels and if anyone owes the illegals anything it is not the American people it is the companies who were dumb enough to give them a reason to come here by hiring them even though they are illegal. These companies do not even train these people to do a job that is up to code. They hire them because they are cheap they spend less than a day training them and turn them lose to do jobs that are not up to standard and that is the corporate business’s fault. Those companies and/or corporations should be held responsible for the illegal immigrants’ welfare. They should have to pay taxes on these people even if they are illegal. They should to have pay their welfare benefits it if comes to that, so that maybe they will learn not to make this problem again. I think all the responsibility should fall on the companies who willingly give jobs to people who are not legal and are breaking the law. Otherwise, you are telling the poor immigrants who have come here legally and went through that long and tedious process that they are not as important as the people who come here illegally and just get a free pass to be here the rest of their lives. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking immigration; that is what our country is built from is immigrants. Let us not forget that even the Pilgrims were immigrants. But we have laws set in place to accept immigrants as citizens through a specific process in order to create order and prevent chaos. Just giving every amnesty every 10 or 15 years does not support order, it supports chaos.

Illegal immigrants do pay taxes. They pay sales tax when they buy things. Also when they rent an apartment or house, property taxes are included in their rent and will be paid for by the property owner. They even pay income tax. I cannot believe all of you haters are so ignorant about this.

The President can issue executive orders, which have the force of law, but do not have to be
approved by Congress. The term executive order was used for the first time in 1862. Every president of the United States have used the Executive Order or a form of it.

I understand that the president can issue executive orders, but they are meant to be used in the implementation of existing laws. They are not meant to create new laws. Obama is supposed to execute and defend all the laws of the land and yet he continues to chose which laws he doesn’t like and ignores them.
