Barack Obama denies trying to intimidate the San Fransisco Chronicle; the Chronicle fires back

April 30, 2011

The media may finally be starting to push back against Barack Obama’s strong-arm bullying tactics.

Earlier last week we heard an indignant president scold a reporter for daring to ask a follow up question during an interview. Barack Obama is not used to this kind of push back in the media and so he did not know how to react when a reporter didn’t take what he had to say at face value. Now we are learning about a second kerfuffle this week between the media and the Obama regime; this one occurring at a recent fundraiser.

At a fundraiser in San Fransisco several people stood up and began to sing a song of protest which demanded the release of the traitor Private Bradley Manning. A reporter for the Chronicle recorded the protest and therein lies the problem–video recording was not allowed at this event (strange that the man who promised transparency holds his fundraisers in such a secretive manner, isn’t it?). Of course the narcissistic president would prefer that no video evidence of people disagreeing with him should ever see the light of day and so began the Chicago style thuggery and intimidation–of which it is alleged that the Obama regime would disallow the San Fransisco Chronicle from covering further presidential events. (They have a certain image to uphold in this highly propagandized presidency, and that means only selected videos and pictures–first approved by the president–will the American people be allowed to see.)

The Obama regime is denying that it has been trying to intimidate the San Fransisco Chronicle, while the Chronicle is claiming that the president isn’t telling the truth. I would like to believe the president–after all the Chronicle started this by breaking the coverage rules–but it is hard to take the Obama regime at face value anymore because the fact is that Barack Obama has been engaged in this thuggish behavior with the media for quite some time now.

In fact, this attempt at total control over the media started when he was still a candidate for the highest office in the land; Barack Obama created “truth squads” in Missouri to attack and harass any television or radio station which he felt was running misleading (which really means anti-Obama) advertisements.

Barack Obama is now using local law enforcement officials to carry out his campaign of legal intimidation by assembling a group of high-ranking Missouri police officials and prosecutors – including St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCullough and City of St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce – to identify and target anyone the campaign determines is producing “misleading” political advertisements.

And as for banning certain media outlets from events, there is precedent there as well from candidate Obama; his campaign stopped all future interviews with both he and Joe Biden with two television stations after these television stations had the wherewithal to ask Joe Biden tough questions.

And how can we forget the fact that as a candidate Barack Obama threw three reporters off of his plane because their newspapers endorsed John McCain? This media manipulation and coercion by Barack Obama has been going on since shortly after he announced his candidacy. Barack Obama has a carefully crafted image and he has gone to great extents to keep that  image intact.

The Obama thuggery worked well for many years because nobody in the press wanted to miss out on the novelty of covering the first serious black candidate, and then covering the first black president, but as his poll numbers continue to fall and the novelty wears off and people begin to look for results it would seem as if the media should be less inclined to succumb to the president’s threats.

Barack Obama did not have a record to run on when he was trying to become president and the media was willing to cave in to his bully tactics in order to assure they would not be cut out from his history making presidential run, but now he has a record and as people begin to evaluate him on that record the press shouldn’t be so willing to roll over to his bully pulpit.

The people are beginning to turn on Barack Obama based on his record as president and the media may start to realize that they simply cannot cover for Dear Leader any more, and it seems as if the media may finally be willing to do the job that they were negligent in doing while he was making his run to the White House.

I saw that video of the “Manning Song” at Zombietime’s article “Obama Visits The Slush Fund Bay Area.” A long article, scroll to the bottom. It was not particularly damaging to the Pres, so I can’t imagine what all the fuss is about. In fact, Zombie emphasized how sad the protesters are, for paying all that money just to sing a stupid song and say, “we love you and we are voting for you anyway.” Pitiful.

What a weird thing to risk looking bad for. I chalk it up to more incompetence.

It really was a strange way to protest, wasn’t it? These people paid their thousands of dollars to attend the fundraiser only to sing to the president before leaving. They still gave their money, so what was the point really?

If Barry has problems in San Francisco, then he has problems everywhere.

Now that is a good point, but we know they will still vote for him because there is no other alternative.

I’m not sure if the canine cliche “biting the hand that feeds you” or “the tail wagging the dog” is more appropriate here. If he takes as much fire out of the media as he has from his base, Obama’s got a tough slog to get another 4 years.

In the end I don’t think the media will turn on him because they simply cannot help themselves, however if the do it will be a long haul for him.
