Gunrunner: Darrell Issa requests White House documents
Amid a new report which stated that Operation Gunrunner provided “a significant upgrade to the cartels’ ability to inflict serious damage and casualties on their enemies,” came the revelation that at least one person in the White House knew about the deadly program as early as 2010. During the hearings on Gunrunner last Tuesday Bill Newell–a director in the ATF–testified that he personally told Kevin O’Reilly about Operation Gunrunner because O’Reilly was seeking information related specifically to the botched operation in order to present them in a speech in Mexico last year.
Kevin O’Reilly was Barack Obama’s White house National Security Director for North America and he wanted information on this deadly operation because he was preparing to head on a trip to Mexico, at the request of the president we can safely assume, to discuss steps the United States was taking in the prevention firearms trafficking. He was headed on official business, he represents the United States, he works in the White House, and he was looking for information about a top secret program that nobody supposedly knew about? Who told him about the operation in the first place? We know it occurred before he asked Bill Newell about the details because he specifically asked Newell for details about Gunrunner.
Are we really supposed to believe that as he prepared to give a speech in Mexico in which specific details of Gunrunner were to be revealed that he never mentioned this to Barack Obama? Maybe Kevin O’Reilly didn’t mention Gunrunner–or details about the effects of Gunrunner–to the president; maybe it was the president who told Kevin O’Reilly to seek out Bill Newell in the first place because he already knew about the failed operation, and did from the beginning.
Admittedly this is only speculation on my part but we may not have to rely on speculation too much longer because Darrell Issa is requesting more information from Kevin O’Reilly’s White House agency.

This investigation has been hindered at every level of the federal government–Darrell Issa has already accused Eric Holder of obstructing justice–and Darrell Issa is fully aware of the fact that the information he is now requesting will not be made available too easily:
One of things that have made this a slow investigation is that we’re getting no cooperation. Even under subpoena we’re going through that
But Darrell Issa has been tenacious and has remained determined to get to the bottom of this story and he is now knocking on Barack Obama’s doorstep. He is not going to be happy with a sacrificial lamb being thrown to the slaughter, he intends to find everyone involved in this scandal and bring them all to justice:
We not only want to stop agents who think this is a good idea – and they are few and far between,” Issa said in the conference call. “We also want to stop the people who funded, authorized, coordinated and helped with the cover-up
The question is: what did Barack Obama know and when did he know it? It seems as if there is no way that Barack Obama didn’t know about this program in 2010–even though he has stated otherwise–when Kevin O’Reilly was able to gain information about the “successes” of this program, and I think it it highly likely that he knew about it from the very beginning and in fact authorized it.
Darrell Issa is taking this investigation to the next logical place–the White House–and there is smoke here already. There is a reason the Obama regime has been less than willing to cooperate with this investigation–and obstructing it when neccessary–and Darrell Issa may be on the verge of blowing the lid off what could turn out to be one of the biggest scandals in United States history.

The Irony! The Humanity! Kevin O’Reilly, more than likely at the behest of Obama, goes to Mexico to discuss what the U.S. is doing about firearm trafficking prevention. So he requests information about a “Top Secret” program before he goes. If he knew about it he certainly wasn’t in the loop. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in Mexico at that meeting. Any idea on when this trip took place? Obviously before the Brian Terry murder.

It takes the willing suspension of disbelief to think that Obama had nothing to do with this at this point. The Mexico trip took place in 2010, not sure what month though.

I read some where today that even the Washington Post carried a three page story on the Fast and Furious scandal. So, yes I agree this is going to be very big very soon. I still don’t understand at what point is a Special Prosecutor appointed or even what the process is to appoint a SP. Do you know, Steve?

Maybe it will get to the point where the media can’t ignore it, but I am still not going to hold my breath. The Congress can appoint a special prosecutor to investigate this, and I would think that decision would be made by the Oversight Committee but at what point they would decide to do this I don’t know. I am sure they want to take this as far as they can before turning it over.

I’m telling you Steve this is huge. I think it will be revealed a number of high ranking official have the gun runner stink on them. I believe they will do whatever it takes to shield the President; however this could leave a scar that is tough to overcome. Keep going with this story.

I think you are right, this is going to end up being a huge scandal and it could be the unraveling of the Obama regime because at some point the media does have to pay attention, don’t they?

Holder boasted about the program in 2009 – and thanked the admin for the $10,000,000 from Stimulus. Program received another $27,000,000. Clinton boasted about the program in 2009 – and gave Napolitano credit. All anti-gun proponents who came up with a hare-brained scheme – give the cartels assault rifles, the kind they want to eliminate but for that awful 2nd amendment. The shock of the Mexicans to their use will cause America to come down hard on the mfrs. “After all, there were 10,000 guns in Mexico from US already” – an estimate with no basis. Did not even bring top ATF personnel into “need to know” status. FBI waived gun shop blocking of sales to felons – because they were walking guns to Mexico. Now that takes the top guys in DOJ to do something the ATF does not have funds to do – to consider waiving restrictions on felons.
I think you have Obama, Holder, H Clinton, Napolitano, several Dep AG, Sr FBI, Sr. ATF – and then their advisors. Probably Emanuel, Jarrett, Newell – more than a dozen, anyway, who signed on to this scheme to supply weapons to the Cartels without informing Mexico or the top bureaucrats in ATF, FBI and HS.

Eric Holder gave a speech,I believe in Mexico, in 2009 where he implicated “the administration” and DHS’s Napolitano. She even gave a follow up speech. He named the operation by name, Fast and Furious. Bring them all out in front of a prosecutor and play the video. Then start grilling them under oath.
Nixon was a choir boy compared to these criminals.

it’s coming out in http://www.foxnews.com. that Amb. Stevens discovered gun running to libya from the US. That the admin. Deliberately sacrificed our 4 Americans to prevent discovery till after the election. Why elso would the whole admin. Deliberately withdraw the support in August and deny these men help when they were screaming and begging for it? There apparently was a drone overhead of the attack that was streaming the attack to the white house for at least 2 hours of the attack.

Thanks for the link, I am going to check it out right now. I have heard rumors about this possibility. It is beginning to look like there is much more to this story then we were led to believe and it makes you wonder if this is what Barack Obama is really trying to hide.
