Gunrunner: Project “Gangwalker” allowed guns to be walked into…..Indiana?

September 7, 2011

We all know the story of Operation Gunrunner–in which the government authorized the sale of weapons with the intent of letting these weapons fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels–and we also know about Operation Castaway–in which the government authorized the sale of weapons knowing they would fall into the hands of Honduran gangs–but you probably haven’t heard of yet a third gunwalking program which is now being dubbed Project “Gangwalker.”

While the Obama regime and Eric Holder have attempted to buy the silence of the four operatives who have “the goods” on Eric Holder by “reassigning” them to cushy office positions, this may have backfired as one of the original whistleblowers in the Gunrunner scandal has come forward with more information which shows this scandal is even more widespread than was first believed.

Under “Project Gangwalker” the ATF and the DOF allowed the straw purchases of weapons which eventually ended up in the hands of United States gang members in Indiana and have been found at crime scenes in that state.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has acknowledged an Indiana dealer’s cooperation in conducting straw purchases at the direction of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  Exclusive documents obtained by Gun Rights Examiner show the dealer cooperated with ATF by selling guns to straw purchasers, and that bureau management later asserted these guns were being traced to crimes.

When the Gunrunner scandal first came to light the government went into full CYA mode, claiming that this program was designed to lead the United States government toward upper level Mexican drug lords. But the government failed to mention the fact that these drug lords and their locations were already well known to the United States government, so the new information the government claimed it hope to glean from this program was actually non-existent. This coupled with the fact that the United States lacks jurisdiction to go after these drug lords because they are in Mexico led many people–myself included–to come to the conclusion that this program was actually being implemented to create a crisis which the government could then use to implement Barack Obama’s gun control policies on law abiding American citizens.

The real target of these programs appears to be the American people and not the Mexican or Honduran drug lords, and this news that the United States government authorized the sale of weapons that ended up in the hands of United States gang members proves–in my opinion–that these three programs were indeed designed to create the crisis of a culture of violence to implement gun control laws.

Violent crimes have been committed by United States gang members in Indiana, and it is being reported that some of these crimes may have been committed with weapons that the United States government allowed to walk into the hands of criminals right here in the United States.

This scandal appears to grow bigger on a daily basis and it is becoming apparent that we are being led by a criminal regime hell bent on destroying the second amendment to fulfill a radical leftist, statist agenda. Eric Holder hoped that these recent “reassignments” would prove that this regime was serious about getting to the bottom of a program that in reality it authorized, but all it has done was lead to accusations of a massive coverup and new news about the actual scope of this scandal.

We can consider no justice to have been served until–at minimum–Eric Holder steps down in disgrace for the criminal acts he has condoned in the scandal, as well as the coverup, and accepts responsiblity for the crimes which were committed with these weapons–for these crimes would not have been carried out had the United States government not been engaged in such a nefarious plan.

For those who enjoy complaining about the liberally-biased media and what they feel is a propensity to sweep stories like Gunrunner under the carpet, you should be aware that NPR actively updates the story and is characterizing it as the most momentous scandal to hit the Justice Department and ATF since the days of Ruby Ridge and Waco.

Georgia Yankee, believe me, I don’t think anyone “enjoys” complaining about the liberal-biased media. They need to do their job without being biased, like they used to do. I commend them for finally coming around and doing what is right. It has been a big part of what they have not said that has gotten us to the place we are today. Fair and balanced is all that has been asked of them and they have fallen short.

That is good news, and CBS has begun to do stories on this scandal, I think it is simply to big to ignore.

I’ve always thought NPR to be an accurate source. That’s why news radio has the lowest ratings in news media. Or at least last time I checked they did.

From Indiana these guns will go to Detroit and Chicago. I don’t remember a bigger scandal in my 57 years, this is massive. I also think that the Attorney General will not go quietly and take the hit for anyone else. I believe that he will start singing and take everyone down with him that he can. To think that our administration has become this corrupt is well, unthinkable! Does it suprise me to know how deep this is going? Not at all. It is to be expected, we have seen it coming and could not do much about it. Now that the media is finally reporting it, there is no turning back. Maybe they have seen their careless ways and know it is going to affect them, as well. There are not many that will not be affected by this in some way. Maybe they will forget, just for awhile, what the score is on a game and focus on what is important, if only for their children and grandchildren. I would like to hope that most people have just been pre-occupied and are finally waking up to the importance of this scandal. Then and only then will we have a chance of getting a handle on this and putting a stop to it. I don’t care what “party” you are in, it will affect everyone, at that point. I don’t think the people with the guns are going to stop and ask what party affiliation you are, do you?

This is growing bigger everyday and who knows how extensive this program really was. All we know is how dangerous and deadly it has become and somebody has to pay for it. In my opinion this scandal should bring the whole Obama regime down and I hope that you are right when you say Holder will eventually sing.

The reason I think the Attorney General will “sing” is that I am sure he thought the president would always take his side and back him up. Now maybe he is seeing that the president was never there to cover for HIM, but for himself. I think alot of people got the wrong impression. This has never been about anyone BUT the president and what could be done for him. He was the one to be covered for at all cost, no matter what. I agree the whole bunch should be taken down. For some reason, I don’t see alot of trolls on here backing the president now, think they know his days are numbered? Once in awhile you see a poll or an article that says he is ahead or that he is right in what he is doing, but they are far and few between. I do see some talking heads now suggesting that Hillary Clinto run against him, never thought I would see that, either.

Wouldn’t you love to see Hillary run just for the drama alone?!
There is no way Obama will ever take the fall for this, he will throw Holder under the bus if he must, and if Holder wants to save his own ass he might just come clean.

There is just no way the lid can be kept on this scandal now. If Obama is as smart as his minions say he is, he throw Holder under the bus. The longer he waits to do it the more harm it will do to him.

We may be getting to the point where Holder will decide to step down so he can “spend more time with his family.” I think it is more likely he will step down for some personal reason in an attempt to make this go away before the election. Obama may urge him out the door, but I don’t think he will do it in the public eye this close to the election.

Steve, I think we will be amazed at what depths the administration will go to try to make this go away or to shift the blame to others. I think there will be things done that we have never seen before and we will probably just sit back and shake our heads in wonder. When people are backed into a corner they can do some pretty stupid stuff. I am not real fond of stupid people.

I am really not amazed at what this president will do in order to deflect blame, he has already lost all credibility with me.

Co on F, I think the ones under the bus are going to start coming out swinging against the president. Funny how when you have been used and abused by someone, that THAT happens. Guess it is human nature. Maybe there is not enough money to pay them off anymore.

This just keeps getting more scandalous by the day. When is someone going to stand up and file charges in this case? I mean they have convicted murderers on way less evidence.

John, next thing you know we will be attacked for “gloating” about the scandal and it will be our fault it happened. You know how it has to be someones fault and it can’t be the ones responsible, so it will be our fault.

The media will spin this into a race based which hunt and claim that this regime was unfairly attacked while ignoring the real story as much as possible.

    Steve,
I just saw something interesting about CIA operatives being sent into Mexico to assist with Mexican security forces. This was about a month ago. You wrote: “the United States lacks jurisdiction to go after these drug lords because they are in Mexico…” maybe that isn’t TOTALLY relevant to the ATF providing weapons to gang members. It does show that U.S. agencies are playing a direct role in the Mexican drug war.
I don’t know if you’ve read that already, but it is possible that this isn’t a massive conspiracy, especially since there are enough gun related homicides in the U.S. as it is.
