Gunrunner: Eric Holder changes his story and Republicans call for a special counsel to investigate
On May 3rd of this year Eric Holder appeared before the Congress and when he was asked when he first learned about the deadly Operation Fast and Furious he claimed that he first heard about the operation “probably a few weeks ago.” But recently released documents contradicted Eric Holder’s testimony and show that Eric Holder was kept in the loop about updates regarding the deadly scandal and he knew about the operation as early as July of 2010. (Many of us feel as if Eric Holder not only knew about this operation but authorized it, but at this time we can only prove he learned of the operation in 2010 so for the sake of this post that is the date I will use.)
In light of these newly released documents Eric Holder realizes that he has a major problem on his hands for it is obvious that he lied to the Congress and should be held in contempt of Congress, so now in an attempt to clarify his damning testimony, he is changing his story by claiming that he misunderstood the question.
The Justice Department told CBS News that the officials in those emails were talking about a different case started before Eric Holder became Attorney General. And tonight they tell CBS News, Holder misunderstood that question from the committee – he did know about Fast and Furious – just not the details
Now he is admitting that he knew about Fast and Furious, but that he did not know about the details; this excuse still does not hold water because the emails detailed the number of weapons that were being walked across the border. Even if Eric Holder does not personally check all of his emails, are we to believe that nobody read these emails and informed the man who is charged with keeping justice in the United States that laws were being broken and guns were being walked into Mexico? Eric Holder was asked a direct question and he provided a direct answer, there is no way in hell that he misunderstood such a simple question.
In this ABC story (yes ABC, the story is finally gaining momentum in the mainstream media) it is being learned that Republican leaders are now claiming that Eric Holder is either incompetent or is purposely misleading the Congress:

This has lead to Lamar Smith sending a letter to the president requesting a special counsel to investigate Eric Holder to determine is he mislead the Congress:
Allegations that senior Justice Department officials may have intentionally misled members of Congress are extremely troubling and must be addressed by an independent and objective special counsel. I urge you to appoint a special counsel who will investigate these allegations as soon as possible

Of course he knew! I hope AG Holder is running scared, scared people do things they would not ordinarily do. I believe he will start singing, just at what octave, remains to be seen. Bunkerville, hope you are right! You can only cover up so many times before the excuses don’t make any sense, I think he is at his limit. The “misunderstood the question”, might work, maybe for an idiot, (well maybe he is) but should not the AG being the attorney he is, be used to that kind of questioning? Wasn’t this supposed to be the smartest and best that the Dems had to offer in this administration? They sure mised the mark, didn’t they?

Obama responded that it is “a pretty big government” with “a lot of moving parts.” WTH!!! Isn’t he president of the United States? Are we to believe that no one knows what anyone else is doing? I know you can’t see me, but “do I look that stupid to you”? Really! This guy is about as big a liar as AG Holder, how much more do we have to listen to from this Administration?

They say he recieved 2 memos……period, then go on to turn it in Issa,
The mainstream is under the directiion of the white house so any reporting will is done with a clear bias and motive to make this story go away…….I could see taoper calling the white house to see if his story is ok?

A very good point, but any reporting that keeps this story alive can’t be good for Obama because polls show us that more and more people are turning away from the MSM and are turning to the internet for their news. The propaganda arm of the Obama regime can try to spin this but they are only preaching to the converted.

SP, from the video I watched earlier, it showed AG Holder getting update emails at least every 2 weeks (they had a few months showing). There were alot listed. I guess they had to round it “down”, huh?

A coverup of this magnitude would mean that nobody could slip up and with so many people being involved it seems highly likely that somebody will. The more they try to run from this the deeper the hole they will find themselves in.

If Obama says no on the special counsel it will be an admission that he has something to hide as well, in my opinion. Pajamas Media has a good piece on this scenario this morning–is is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t and I for one am glad to see him backed into this corner. His lies and his deceptions have put him where he is.

Harrison, I hope it moves faster than that, Obama can do alot more serious damage by then. But, I think you are right, anyone that goes after Obama OR Holder will be labeled a racist. I hope all those “feel good” voters see what they started here. Guess they didn’t figure on them pulling out that race card when they needed for people to back off. I rarely even listen to the MSM, probably like the majority here, they are not what forms my opinions. This is getting more interesting by the day. I now look forward to getting up and reading the antics of this administration.

I think the only reason Obama hasn’t already thrown Holder under the bus is because Holder will take Obama with him. I’ve said before that I think Issa has even more info than he’s letting on. I think he wants to nail Obama.

I think you are most likely right. Obama is shaking in his boots right now and is probably looking to work out the same type of deal with Holder that Holder worked out with the three people in the ATF he promoted.

What we have to remember, Steve, is that he is very dangerous the more cornered he gets. I think we are just getting a small look at how dangerous when we see the hate in his eyes when someone says something he doesn’t like. The longer this goes on, the more hurried he will be and that might be when he starts making mistakes. We can also hope that there will be more in the administration that DO have a conscience and will do the right thing and start naming names.

RJ, I imagine that he thinks that as well. AG Holder is already starting to ramble on about just not understanding the question, the excuses are coming out. He is seeing that he is not believed already, so I think they are in high speed damage control. Don’t you think they are already looking for a higher up to take the fall, but with benefits If he/she does? I can’t guess who it will be, but that person will be paid very well. Right now, Obama probably thinks that he has his cover, but I think it is a light weight cover at best. Something to this magnitude has never happened, so they are in an uncharted territory and even Bill Clinton can’t give them pointers, now. I do, also think that Rep Issa has more up his sleeve. He can’t bring it all out at once and tip them off on what their talking points should be. He does appear pretty confident on the videos I have seen of him in the past few days. Let us all hope the days of this administration are numbered.

I agree Issa isn’t going to tip off the administration. We know he has “contacts” within Homeland Security, and he may have a few in the JD. We’re all impatient, but I trust Issa is doing a great job on this.

Issa has done a great job and I trust he will get to the bottom of this. He says he expects to have this wrapped up by the end of the year and will then turn the case over. That isn’t too long to wait if justice is done.

Holder has a long history of lying to congress,remember Mark Rich ? Claimed he never knew all he did when he was pushing for a pardon.President Zero is in on this as well of course “under the radar” and I suspect he will protect Holder as long as possible,Holder has the firewall to lots of of other corrupt acts like Solyndra.If Holder falls,and I hope they can nail him and throw him in a cell like they did to John Mitchell,then the whole administration might fall as well.

IF Holder folds, I wonder how many scandals he might sing about that we do not know about yet? He may start giving up things that will shock us and implicate people we didn’t know anything about. I think once he knows he is done we will find out some things that will immediately take Obama down. Also, there will be others that surface to do damage control on themselves. This is really getting interesting. I hope someone in the end will be able to piece it all together. I know they assumed the MSM would cover for them, unconditionally, but there are a few breaking ranks now and I think there will be more. Obama has not treated them very well, he treated them like he treats US, like stupid people. I think that was a big mistake on his part, they may be loyal to a fault, but when being lied to and belittled, I think even the MSM has their limits. I think that limit has been met. Obama has overestimated his power and what people will allow him to do before we start fighting back. We may be slow off the starting line on that, but in the end I think the people will win. We do not have another option, because losing our country can NOT happen.
