Video: Trey Gowdy slams Susan Rice and Jay Carney for lying about the terrorist attack in Libya

October 10, 2012

Below is a terrific video of Trey Gowdy hammering Susan Rice and Jay Carney for lying about the terrorist attack on the United States consulate in Libya on September 11th.

He nails Susan Rice for claiming “in fact” the attack was spawned by a You Tube video, telling her while he doesn’t know what ‘in fact’ means in diplomatic legalese he knows what it means in a court of law–it means it is a fact.

He then goes after Jay Carney for saying there was “concrete evidence” that the attack was in response to a You Tube video, stating that is even stronger language than stating something is a fact.

  This is a must watch:

Send all these liberal Obama sucking dregs to the workers paradise known as North Korea. With nothing to eat they can lie to each other about who took the biggest dump.

He doesn’t mince words, we need more of his kind in Congress. He and others like him are what make me believe that there is still hope for our country. I see so many of the “old guard” that need to step down, they have become complacent and need to make room for someone that has the fire in their belly, as Trey Gowdy does. I does my heart good to watch this video.

I agree, we do need more like him in Washington. As you said, there are too many people in Washington on both sides whose number one goal is to win reelection instead of doing the people’s business. We need to rid ourselves of all those who are only there to gain power.

We don’t see much backbone like that in DC these days. He and Allen West would make a great tag team to take on this administration.

That was a great video Steve. It’s time to get to the bottom of this and hold people accountable to include the President.

You know I am beginning to believe that Fast & Furious, as bad as it was/is, was not considered that big of a threat to “this administration”. I hate to say this, but it was ONLY Mexicans(from “this administrations” point of view) and a couple of border patrol agents (apparently sub-human in “this administrations” eyes) that have been murdered and to this administration, it was no big deal. I can’t believe that because it did not personally affect anyone in “this administration”, that it was not a horrible tragedy. IF that played into it, their ethnicity or type of job, it is unacceptable. All life is precious, it doesn’t matter your race or background, what don’t they understand about that? I believe that this is how most of the American people feel, all those that were murdered had families that want answers and WE want answers…wonder what it will take? I really don’t think the Mexican president is all that concerned about it, either, unless it means a pay off for him. Now we have those murdered overseas and once again, “this administration” is trying to first, play it down to something else and once again making excuses and trying to lay blame at someone elses feet….sorry excuse for an administration as far as I am concerned. As you said, Steve, SOMEBODY has to pay for this!

I have been asking myself if this is actually a bigger scandal than Fast and Furious and I am beginning to think it is. But the two of them combined just show us that this regime must be removed from power ASAP if not sooner. This is a disgrace!

I am with Lou. When trying to pick a segment to post, it was the young Turks that took it to them. Boehner has to go.

I agree that there had been escalating violence in that part of the world already. There is no doubt, however, that the video that was made and put out over Youtube is respnsible somwwhat at least for the more widespread rioting that resulted after it came out over the Internet. It’s just not all responsible though.

David, it had been out there for awhile, but after it was used for an excuse, yes it did start a bit of the problem. It seems it doesn’t take much to set some people off. However, having caused all the problems, that is a big NO. There are thousands of videos floating around, some people just are looking for an excuse to do what they were going to do, anyway. I am not going to give much credit to that video or make excuses to justify what they did, that is such a poor excuse to riot.

And Obama bringing attention to it for weeks just helped to spread more violence in the region.

In addition to my statements above let me say too that we need (or they need) to take personal responsibility for how they have reacted to this video. This was one video made by one person. It does nor reflect the views of everybody in our country. You don’t go killing our representatives and burning and attacking our embassies because of what one person says. Come on guys and dolls, get some self control for cryin’ out loud!

Personal responsibility seems to be lacking in some individuals, it comes to mind this administration! Self control might be another thing for them to work on as well. It does, however, only take what one person does or says to start a riot, if you listen to what our administration is telling us. Do I trust what our administration has to say?? Ha!

Please share this note with other friends: As I read more about the Benghazi attack, I am blown away by the unbelievable partisanship of the major networks in protecting Obama from the biggest scandal of his administration. It is 100% clear that the administration knew within 24 hours that it was a terrorist attack and not an out of control mob protesting a video. The possibility that terrorists with links to al-Qaeda were responsible would look bad for Obama since we have been told that al-Qaeda was on the path to defeat. In fact Obama had received reports in August that al-Qaeda was gaining strength in Libya. We have learned that the survivors of the assault were debriefed within 24 hours, and they confirmed that there was no protest beforehand. It was a straightforward military style raid on the compound. On Sept. 12th the McClatchy website posted an article on the attack. http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2012/09/12/168270/attack-on-us-consulate-in-libya.html The key sentence states,”In Washington, two administration officials, briefing reporters on the condition of anonymity, corroborated much of Bishari’s description of what happened.” The administration officials already knew what had occurred at the consulate because the survivors had been debriefed. They confirmed to the McClatchy reporter that the Libyan was correct, there were no protesters, it was a full scale assault, well planned in advance and timed for September 11th. The Libyan government never accepted the story that this was anything other than a well planned terrorist assault. In fact the day after the attack the one Libyan guard who survived said there were no protesters and it was an sudden assault on the compound. But our President already knew this information. What purpose was served in not telling the country what the President had learned from the survivors? Why spread a lie about a spontaneous protest turning violent?

The President, Hilary Clinton, and Susan Rice perpetrated a lie, long after the facts were clear. The country deserves an explanation for our President’s actions in intentionally misleading the public and the world. At the United Nations the President had the opportunity to discuss the dangers of a strengthening al-Qaeda. Instead, he blamed the attack on a video. If the Congress had not been controlled by the GOP, this deception may have never come to light. The details of the assault would have been kept a secret. Suddenly just before the Congressional hearings, a State Department official tells reporters that the State Department never accepted the premise that this was a spontaneous event caused by anger over a video. Apparently the State Department listed the event as a terrorist attack within 24 hours, but Clinton was playing the role of a politician and not head of the State Department when she lied to the public.

President Obama is proud that he gave the order to kill Osama bin Laden, but if al-Qaeda is strengthening and attacking our diplomats, this diminishes the value of his death and it could be argued that we have made him a martyr. We have killed many al-Qaeda leaders in Pakistan but the President of Pakistan says that we are simply creating more radicals with our drone attacks. I cannot know President Obama’s reasons for blaming the consulate attack on a mob and not Islamic terrorists, but it appears to have been a decision based on politics. The President still refuses to admit that he knew the truth within the first day. I think that the country deserves to know why he made the decision to mislead everyone.

It is obvious that this issue could end Obama’s chances of being re-elected, and the mainstream press may never confront the President. It would only take one question, “Mr. President, when did you learn from the survivors that there were no protesters and that the attack seemed planned and well organized.”

I have sent a copy of this to ABC, NBC, and CBS but I doubt they will do anything. Please spread the word and send your own copy to the major networks. Don Woods -thanks

I don’t think the media will do anything with this but it is worth the effort. There is no denying that Obama is involved in a major cover up here. He and Hillary are beginning to turn on each other so this could get real interesting.

i agree the video had nothing to do with this pre planned attack, obama is deliberately arming out enemies and tying the hands of our good leaders behind their backs.

And on top of it all, by using this video as an excuse Obama has guaranteed that al Qaeda will now use the video as an excuse for future attacks. He drew attention to the video and now they will use it against us.
