General Petraeus resigns suddenly, will not testify on Benghazi
Just one week before he was set to testify on the terrorist attack on the United States consulate in Benghazi which took the lives of Chris Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty, and Sean Smith General David Petraeus abruptly resigned siting personal reasons–he had an affair.
Conveniently enough for Barack Obama this means that a key witness in the Benghazi attack will no longer be testifying. Somehow I get the feeling that this has more to do with his decision than the affair did.
The question is, who is he resigning to protect? There have been questions about the official CIA timeline, is he doing this to protect his own ass? Or was he pushed into this decision by people higher up in the Obama regime to protect Hillary Clinton or possibly even Barack Obama himself?
The timing is very suspect coming only two days after Barack Obama won reelection and one has to think that, much like Iran firing missiles at US drones, this was in the works for more than two days and the decision was purposely withheld until after the election.
The only thing more absurd than this resignation being about an affair is the assertion that the Benghazi terrorist attack was a protest of a You Tube video that nobody had seen.
The cover up continues, we got the government we deserve…..

Doesn’t the affair usually come to light in a report somewhere first, then weeks after denying the affair, they usually give it up? This is the first time I’ve heard of an official leaving post prior to some big scandal being released?

It was all very sudden, wasn’t it? The You Tube video excuse came out so quickly that it didn’t seem real and it wasn’t, this appears to be the case here as well.

This story if filled with more twist and turns than two boa’s making out. It seems that the FBI uncovered this affair of Petraeus and you can bet Eric Holder was quickly informed and was knocking on Obama’s door within the hour. A looming question will be when did Obama know—before the election? And why if that was the case was the General not forced to resign as soon as this information came to light. And if reports are correct, that General Petraeus was looking forward to telling his story to congressional committees next week why doesn’t he go ahead and testify rather than waiting to be forced to do so. So many questions and so few answers. One thing for sure now is that those in the MSM will follow the scandel and the Benghazi story. Should be interesting!

I have flip flop back and forth on this story today. My first thought was the same as yours and Sonny’s. Then I thought that surely a General who wanted to resign to protect someone could come up with a better story tahn an affair. How did he get his wife to go along with it. Then I thoght, well that’s the answer. H e will be believed because no one would ever make up a story like that. That sound you here is me banging my head against the wall. We are not going to get the truth on Benghazi. They are gong to bury it deeper than nulear waste.

There is something really fishy here, perhaps they had something else on him and “persuaded” him to step down. This all happened way to quickly for what we have been told to be the truth.

I thought about this too, last night, Jim. How a man of his convictions would all of a sudden have an “affair” just doesn’t smell right does it? Plus, it would be all over the news, but this was not, just a resignation. It was used at the right time for Obama and NOT for us. We are going to lose out on a person testifying that was credible, but not now,,,he is an adulterer, they already have him labeled, you can’t trust his testimony now. Now IF it was true, guess it would be the honorable thing to do, resign. IF it was/is not true, maybe it was the only way out of testifying other than a strategically placed proverbial bullet to the head to keep him from talking at the hearing and maybe dragging his family into this. HE was the one that stated the CIA was not involved in the call on Benghazi. Now he is getting paid back for insinuating that it was further up the food chain that it came from. Pay backs in the Obama administration have consequences, don’t they?

Amazing, it looks like everyone connected to his scandals are being exiled.
This does not bode well.
Can only Imagine who will be replace the Head of the CIA, State Dept, AG, Treasury? Solid patriotic Americans IM SURE.
What better way to buy the CIA then comprimise the head. I hear the mistress is connected to Liz Warren.

The rumor is that Warren is involved in this as well and she was Obama’s personal pick for senate. Everyone connected to this scandal is a target, just as Chris Stevens was.
