Gunrunner: Eric Holder and the House are close to a deal on Fast and Furious documents
Back in June of last year, with the Fast and Furious investigation apparently getting too close, a panicked Eric Holder ran to Barack Obama and begged him to seal the documents Darrell Issa had been seeking for over a year. Barack Obama took care of his friend by sealing the documents, the Congress voted to hold Eric Holder in Contempt, and a lawsuit was filed to force Barack Obama to release the subpoenaed documents which probably implicate Eric Holder and maybe even Barack Obama.
That is pretty much where we stand today in the Fast and Furious saga, but word is coming out now that Eric Holder and the House may be on the verge of a deal. A judge was set to hold a hearing on the documents next week, but according to this story both sides have asked for a delay in the hearing for two months.
The parties have continued to engage in settlement talks. Without divulging the substance of those talks, the talks are progressing sufficiently such that the parties believe that further talks may be fruitful,” Justice Department lawyers wrote in the new motion “Accordingly, the parties believe that, in order to enable the parties to focus their efforts on settlement and avoid the potentially unnecessary expenditure of judicial resources, the hearing on the Motion to Dismiss should be rescheduled for the week of April 15, 2013
The hearing has now been postponed until April 24th giving both sides ample tome to hammer out some type of deal, but what would that deal consist of which would make it appealing to Darrell Issa to forget about some of the most damning documents? Why is Darrell Issa even willing to deal at this point when Eric Holder has had more than enough time to comply with the subpoena?
At this point we don’t know what the deal consists of but today we got word that Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer will be stepping down from the Injustice Department and it is being speculated that this is part of the Fast and Furious deal.
If this is true this is how I see the deal: Darrell Issa gets a fairly high level scalp and will use this to try to save face for giving up his quest for the documents which just might implicate Eric Holder and Barack Obama. And the families of Brian Terry, Jamie Zapata, and hundreds of Mexican youths receive no justice.
Why deal??? Issa has nothing to lose going to court. He has nothing now and if he loses in court he wil still have nothing. But, if he wins in court….wll that is a big win. Brewer is a pawn. We should go for a bishop, at least.

Agreed Jim! I don’t understand why Issa would give up at this point, it makes no sense and I wonder if Boehner has something to do with this.

I just see this going nowhere. If it has not happened by now, the fix is in so deeply, I doubt there is anything that can be done. Don’t you wish we could get away with something by just postponing it for awhile? All this is, is a double standard and the American people are on the wrong end of all of it. I feel bad for the families that want justice served. You would think that the top guy in the spot (Holder) should be trying to see that happens, instead he is up to his eyeballs in the corruption. We surely have a bunch of crap that has surfaced in this administration.

I am afraid you are right and this is the end of the line. There will be no justice and no answers for the families of the victims and that is a sin.

I’m sorry; I think this is all a dog and pony show ….. At best, it’s a delaying tactic while the new IRS Mafia, Homeland Security, and American Nazis get their tactics down on how to proceed with their rendition of American citizens ……..

They are certainly delaying this, I just don’t understand why Issa is playing along.

If they’re willing to deal, even if only to subdue a ‘pawn’, then there’s something they’re hiding. But the deals the conservatives have been getting as of late ‘hind teat’ then it sounds like Americans are about to be sold out again… Delaying the matter in whole, always depreciates the value of the crime. So the longer they can draw things out, the less impact it carries ‘if’ the truth is even discovered.

Exactly, they are throwing him under the bus to protect themselves and it bothers the hell out of me that Issa seems willing to play along.

Maybe this will be it? On the other hand, maybe they need the time to sterilize the documents.

Yep, who knows what has been changed in these documents at this point.

Probably pretty much everything.

More smoke and mirrors. The feds need the delay to rewrite the documents. Brew up some bullshit and serve it hot off the printer.

At this time I am inclined to agree with you about the dog and pony show, although I think rjjrdq is right and Boehner is probably behind it.

It may not be up to Issa. We saw what Boehner has done to others.

So, why the Horse and Pony show ? Fooling the people keeps Boehner in office and perpetuates fraud . . No sense … If Issa was so gung ho on revealing the crimes commited, either reveal or Not, let the cards fall where the may…..

Sounds to me like Issa’s will be having a nice off shore account filled with money, to make the issue be diminished!!! After all it’s just another killing of how many surrounding the Obama regime?
