Barack Obama is going to cut Medicare reimbursements again

March 14, 2013

Remember when Barack Obama was running for reelection and he and the rest of the Democrats were running around the country claiming that Republicans planned to “throw granny off the cliff” by cutting Medicare, going so far as to air a commercial which showed Paul Ryan doing just that? I thought you would.

Well, in order to pull this propaganda effort off Barack Obama and the media had to ignore one inconvenient little fact–the only people who actually DID cut Medicare were Barack Obama and the Democrats who voted for Obamacare which included $200 million in Medicare cuts. And the plan worked brilliantly.

Apparently the $200 million in Medicare cuts was not enough for Barack Obama because according to this article he is planning to cut another 2.3% from Medicare:

The Obama administration is planning new cuts to Medicare, a federal regulatory filing reveals, cuts that could mean higher premiums or seniors losing their coverage altogether.

The new cuts come in the form of a planned reduction in the reimbursement rates the government pays to insurance companies that operate Medicare Advantage plans, which are services administered by private for-profit or non-profit providers that offer additional services than can be found in traditional Medicare.

Just recently, while talking about Paul Ryan’s new budget proposal, Barack Obama said:

If we controlled spending and we have a smart entitlement package, then potentially what you have is balance — but it is not balance to, on the backs of the poor, the elderly, students who need student loans, families that have disabled kids. That is not the right way to balance

Barack Obama is doing something on the backs of the elderly and we know one thing for sure–it ain’t balancing the budget. Again we have the president saying one thing publicly while doing the opposite privately and at this point you have to believe he has lost any credibility he might once have had. The man is a fraud, a liar, and a shyster and it is beyond time for the American people to start looking at his actions and ignoring his soaring rhetoric, for they are two very different things indeed.

Obama will say anything, do anything to advance what he sees as his mission. Lies, half-truths and meaningless platitudes are all just a means to an end. The man has little or no foundation in principle values—-he makes his own as he goes. His dream is nothing but a fleeing image of a world that can never exist except in the mind of a fool. One should not condemn a fool and his dreams, but the fool who lies and peddles those half-truths to obtain what is clearly unattainable should be rightly condemned and branded for what he is—-morally corrupt and unfit to lead.

You nailed it Ron! There is nothing that Obama won’t say or do in order to push his radical agenda through.

Our problem, as always, is that if the New York Times or the Washington Post or MSNBC didn’t say it,it didn’t happen. Obama knows that the media will give him a free pass for anything he does. We need the Koch brothers to buy one of the news networks so that people hear the truth.

Let’s not let the GOP off the hook. They have the purse strings. Boehner of course said he won’t play. The CR’s let Obama do whatever he wants.

You are right about that, I just wanted to point out Barack Obama’s lies on this issue.

This is disingenuous, to say the least. For the uninformed, Medicare Advantage was started when Medicare allowed private insurers to develop their own plans for seniors, actuarially similar to Medicare in terms of benefits and costs. In response to the industry’s claims that it would cost extra to get the programs off the ground, Medicare agreed to pay about 120% of the cost of traditional Medicare for each person enrolled in MA. That’s why in its early years, MA was able to offer plans for $0 premiums when seniors in traditional Medicare were paying about $90 per month. It was the American taxpayers footing the bill.

Now that wubsidy is being scaled back so that MA programs aren’t subsidized beyond the cost of traditional Medicare, and the cons are complaining – I suppose they want the government to continue overpaying. That’s not just disingenuous, it’s hypocritical.

Take good care, and may God bless us all!

I guess you missed the point of this post. Nobody here is complaining about the cuts, I was simply pointing out how disingenuous Obama is on this issue for doing what he said the Republicans were going to do.
