Barack Obama met with IRS union head in the White House one day before the IRS started targeting conservatives

May 20, 2013

It is now being reported here that just one day before the IRS decided to start targeting conservative groups Barack Obama met with the IRS union head in the White House:

The head of the National Treasury Employee Union (NTEU), which represents employees of the Internal Revenue Service, met with President Barack Obama in the White House one day before the manager of the IRS’s “Technical Unit” suggested establishing a “Sensitive Case Report” for the tax-exempt status applications of Tea Party groups, according to data from the official White House visitor log and the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration.

The White House visitor log shows that NTEU President Colleen Kelley met with Obama–“POTUS,” President of the United States–on March 31, 2010.

Jay Carney and the White House are refusing to answer the question about whether Barack Obama discussed the Tea Party at this meeting:

As the White House press briefing was ending on Monday, CNSNews.com asked White House Press Secretary Jay Carney as he was leaving the podium, “Did the Treasury union chief talk about tea parties during her meeting with the president in March 2010?”

Carney did not respond.

Later on Monday afternoon, CNSNews.com again e-mailed the White House press office and Carney, with the same question sent earlier in the day. CNSNews.com also called the White House press office and confirmed that it had received the e-mailed question.

However, neither the press office nor Carney responded before this story was posted.

CNSNews.com also called the NTEU, twice, and was transferred to its press office voicemail; the same question was left on the voicemail but the union did not respond before this story was posted.

Barack Obama is claiming that he did not learn about the IRS scandal until he saw it on the news, and Jay Carney is saying that even though White House counsel knew about the investigation they did not think it was an important enough issue to tell Barack Obama about, (you can bet your sweet ass that if it were liberal or minority groups which were targeted Barack Obama would have been on the telievision every day bemoaning the disenfranchisement of these groups), but damn what a remarkable coincidence this turn of events is. That is if you believe it was a coincidence and I for one do not.

It’s time the Obama bong is deep sixed for awhile. If he can stay on the wagon maybe his short term memory will return; maybe not. And where the hell is his lap dog woman Michelle now that he needs her out there in the media shakin” what God gave her? She’s obviously no Tammy Wynette.

To bad their are not White House recording as in Nixon’s day. But then that bunch of Chicago thugs are too smart for that. Nixon seems like an angel upside the group that now sits in the Oval Office. As for the NTEU it is very plauseable that they discussed the Tea Party and how to marginalize them. However, that said, what they have done with this intimidation effort by the IRS is “awakened a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolue” as Admiral Yamamoto famously said following the attack on Pearl.

I think you are right Ron, the Tea Party said to hell with it and stayed home in 2012 but now they are awakened and this could be what it takes to take the Senate in 2014 and officially make Obama a lame duck.

The stench is getting stronger every day. I have to wonder what Obama’s inner circle is planning to deflect attention somewhere else?

I believe Rush Limbaugh has it right. The republican donors have been rightfully intimidated and from what is being reported donations from those on the right ar drying up. Paraphrasing George W Bush, mission accomplished. But as opposed to W looking foolish in his flight jacket replete with aircraft carrier, The Obama Klan has accomplished its mission. Donations from the left will dwarf the other side, the House and Senate go demo in 2014 and Hillary Benghazi Clinton will win in a landslide in 2016. Only those with their head up their asses won’t see this coming.

I hope you are wrong about that, I am hoping that this wakes people up and that they will head out to the polls in 2014 in record numbers to make Obama a lame duck.

LOL, Peter – perhaps the fact is that the donations to the TParty and other extremist groups are drying up because their lies and manipulations are being exposed. Within the last couple of days, for example, there was a bunch of fauxtrage on Facebook because of a photograph, taken recently, of the President giving an address outdoors, with a US Marine, in uniform, holding an umbrella for the Commander-in-Chief. The “scandal” didn’t last long, though, because it wasn’t too long before similar photographs of uniformed personnel holding umbrellas for Presidents Bush, Bush, and Reagan started showing up.

People are also noting that the deficit is receding, there were far worse atrocities than Benghazi that never sparked an iota of outrage against earlier administrations, and someone at AP jeopardized the integrity of a CIA operation.

Or maybe they’re just tired of the extremists trying to keep the nation at a fever pitci every single day between elections.

Take good care and may God bless us all!

Steve- My neighbors, typical, educated, middle class voters, blame the NRA for all three of the current “scandals.” I’m still scratching my head over their assertion. I’m still searching for the silver lining and hope to share the optimism of so many others. Meanwhile the goofy sounding Paul Ryan- Marco Rubio immigration bill ad continues running here in the NY metro area. Heads up their asses?

They are blaming the NRA because Obama is corrupt!? There is nothing Obama can do that will make these people realize they were wrong but I have to believe that people in the center will turn–at least I hope so. The same “conservative solution” to immigration ad is playing up here to, claiming doing nothing is defacto amnesty.

Looked like a smoking gun, sort of, didn’t it?

I looked into it, though, and I think Fred Lucas at CNS News is taking some liberties here.

Colleen Kelley certainly did sign the White House Visitors’ Log on 3/31/2010, and it is true that she was in a meeting with the President that day. What Lucas neglected to mention was that the meeting took place not in the Oval Office, but in the Old Executive Office Building, and it was attended by a total of 117 people. The meeting was the Forum for Workforce Flexibility

    Here’s a link to a webpage about the 3/31/10 forum: http://www.workplaceflexibility2010.org/index.php/whats_new/white_house_forum/

And here’s a link to the White House site, from which you can download the visitors’ log for 2010: http://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/disclosures/visitor-records

The WH visitors’ log entry notes that Kelley’s meeting is with POTUS because he hosted the event. If you review the records of the other 116 people who attended, you’ll note that they also are listed as having a meeting with POTUS, all in the South Court of the Old Executive Office Building.

I think it’s clear what happened here – Lucas, looking for a smoking gun, searched the WH visitors’ log for what looked like incriminating information. I’m sure he had a list of people he hoped visited the White House within certain date ranges, and he probably thought he’d hit paydirt when he found that Ms. Kelley was signed in on March 31. If he’s an actual journalist, he couldn’t have helped himself – he would have looked to see who she visited, as well as the place of the meeting and its nature.

So my question is this – how come he didn’t mention that she was one of nearly ten dozen people at a half-day forum hosted by POTUS, whom she “met” only by virtue of sitting in the audience when he stopped by to give some remarks? Is it possible he expected that by tossing up a few pieces of information, people would connect the dots to support what they hoped was true?

Take good care, and may God bless us all!

My favorite line in the ad is when Rubio says they won’t be eligible for government entitlements. More and more this guy reminds me of Menendez in sheep’s clothing.

Yep, they are trying to gain political points on this issue but in the end I think it will hurt them more than it helps them.
