Top Obama regime appointees are using secret email accounts to hide internal correspondence
According to this AP story there are top level Obama regime appointees who are using secret email accounts to conduct internal correspondence. The AP has been able to confirm that both the HHS and Labor Departments are engaged in this practice but haven’t been able to confirm how widespread this is throughout the Obama regime. It is not out of the realm to think that if these two agencies are doing this that there are also many others.
The excuse given by the most open, honest, and transparent administration in history for this practice is that it helps to cut down on unwanted email and makes their inboxes less cluttered. HOGWASH!
In my opinion this is being done so that the different agencies now under fire for various scandals can appear to be complying with FOIA requests and subpoenas while at the same time hiding what might just be incriminating evidence. I would love to know when this practice started because it seems to me (and this is speculation) that after Barack Obama was forced to use Executive Privilege to save Eric Holder’s ass over the Fast and Furious scandal that somebody took measures to ensure he wouldn’t have to do so again because if he was forced to use Executive Privilege multiple times it would begin to draw the attention of the American people.
The secret email accounts complicate an agency’s legal responsibilities to find and turn over emails in response to congressional or internal investigations, civil lawsuits or public records requests because employees assigned to compile such responses would necessarily need to know about the accounts to search them. Secret accounts also drive perceptions that government officials are trying to hide actions or decisions.
“What happens when that person doesn’t work there anymore? He leaves and someone makes a request (to review emails) in two years,” said Kel McClanahan, executive director of National Security Counselors, an open government group. “Who’s going to know to search the other accounts? You would hope that agencies doing this would keep a list of aliases in a desk drawer, but you know that isn’t happening.”
The Obama regime is claiming this is not a problem because agencies turn over the secret emails when complying with requests but to this point the AP has only found one instance where secret emails were turned over.
The AP couldn’t independently verify the practice. It searched hundreds of pages of government emails previously released under the open records law and found only one instance of a published email with a secret address
At this point wouldn’t you love to know if the IRS was one of the agencies using secret emails to hide internal correspondence? In my opinion it seems very likely because the Treasury Department is one of ten agencies (which also includes the Injustice Department, go figure) which has not turned over a list of email accounts. I wonder why that is?
So much for being open, honest, and transparent!

Good points. What happens when they leave? I worry that fatigue will set in with all of this. After hearing the terrible stories told today, and seeing the dems reaction, it is easy to wonder will we ever get to the bottom of all of it.

This entire country has been ‘conditioned’ to lie. Politicians do so because they do things they know they shouldn’t be doing. However it has spread throughout the country, deny deny deny, why? Because sometimes, you can actually get away with whatever it is you’ve done. Just ask OJ. However it’s spread throughout our culture as well, if you’re hit with some kind of allegation, It seems everyone’s first reaction is just deny it. Then when the truth starts to surface, you try to smother the context with trivial nothingness in an attempt to divert attention to something else and when that doesn’t work, you break down in tears and try to convince everyone of how remorseful you are in an attempt to garner sympathy. More evidence? Just look at our pro athletes. Lance Armstrong, classic example. This is where we live now, so I’m not surprised at all that the Democrats are scrambling to hide everything they can. But they also have a mission, to keep the DP together until Hillary gets her chance to run.. Right now, Holder has been quickly thrust into the ‘smother the context’ stage. Same with the WH emails, they tried the denial stage, but lost that quickly, they’ve been found out, time to misdirect as to the purpose of them. It’s only a matter of time.. they all end about the same way.

I am sure there is a third email account for everyone in government. All of these agencies have an intranet in addition to the internet. All internal intra and possibly inter agency communication is done on this system. Try to subponna those records.

In this rat pack there is no John Dean, Obama stays clean. This regime has set the precedent for future administrations; pack the DOJ and all other agencies with kindred spirits, appoint unelected czars, answerable to no one to skirt the constitution, the congress and the courts. After 232 years our founding fathers and their ideas of liberty, freedom and justice have been dumped in a mass grave never to again see the light of day. With a bureaucracy so vast that a triple murderer is constitutionally entitled to a sex change operation while a 10 year old girl is sentenced to death for want of a partial lung transplant, we have descended into a Kafkaesque hell with no apparent way out. Obama didn’t create this nightmare, he is no more than the right man in the right place at the right time. He and his ilk are the caretakers for the new Amerika. From John McCain to John Roberts to Chris Christie there is no shortage of useful idiots.

I didn’t say that at all, but government business should be done on government emails and not secretly hidden so they cannot be found when the time comes for transparency. I have a personal email and a work email and I do no company business on my personal account and I do no personal business on my work email. It really is not all that complicated.
